MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
Tone 11 offers us an Intention of Resolution to bring clarity to a new understanding. 11 offers the energy of Dynamic Action that Facilitates our Change. Through a modification and simplification of understanding, we can see our role and place in the Universe.
Wind/IK is the Breath of Life and Breath of Spirit, reflecting the Power of our Voice and the Spoken Word. Through Sacred Breath the Creator commanded Creation. Road/EB is showing us how, holding a Spark of the Creator’s identity, we have the Power to command our own Destiny.
The Sound of the Creator’s Voice still lingers as a Vibration in the Wind. We Breathe and are Breathed by the Creator through the Element of Air that connects us all. The glyph illustrates the portals carved in stone to see the stars and magnify the sound of the Creator’s Voice. Today is a day to watch and listen for Divine Inspiration. When we feel a breeze or notice the sounds of the Wind, we are called to make note of what we were thinking and feeling. The Wind is the Breath of God that responds to our thoughts.
Looking to the stars, the reflection of the Sun’s light on the Moon is hidden by the darkness of Earth’s Shadow. At the New Moon, the Sun is at our back and the darkness of the unknown, the direction of all possibility, lies before us. The New Moon marks a new cycle of Growing Light. We are preparing the Seeds we would sew for a Season of Spirit. Tomorrow’s New Moon is an important lunar cycle for setting New Intentions. We can look forward to a cycle of the Growing Light of Spirit. 10 IMIX inspired us to claim the Power we hold through our Divine Connection. Wind/IK calls us to speak the words of a new “I Am.”
Wind/IK holds the power to disseminate the seeds of our Dream. New Moons are a time of planting seeds. We are given 11 Wind/IK to crystallize our Vision of the Intentions we would set at tomorrow’s New Moon. The seeds we plant are empowered by Divine Timing and Placed by the Wind where they can grow.
Wind/IK empowers us as Dreamers and Planners with powerful imaginations to disseminate our thoughts and ideas as a Voice of Creation. Wind encourages us to keep an Open Mind as it is the Power behind natural cycles of cultural change. Wind/IK holds the Power to change directions quickly. We’ve been so active in building our Faith, we may have thought that all our Power was given to simply survive. The Creator always has a Divine Purpose. We’ve been preparing for our Finest Hour.
Wind calls us to draw upon a Higher Discernment. Tone 11 is the day the shaman climbs to the Highest Altar to receive a Divine Communication. We are called to prepare an offering of the Seeds of our Dreams so the Creator can make them One with a Divine Intention.
The Cherokee described Whirlwind as a vortex of Air that carries prayers heavenward to the Great Spirit. Air is the common element that brings us each to life and then forever connects us to one another. Wind is a Day Sign that guides us to an application of Spirit. As a Day Sign of the North, IK resides in the Direction of the Ancestors and the Collective Wisdom of Humanity.
Wind/IK inspires us to think about the difference between our silent and spoken prayers. Spoken prayers manifest the Frequency and Vibration of Sound that crosses the Dimension of Spirit into the Realm of Physicality. Speaking our prayers out loud requires an employment of our Will. We’re taught to think before we speak. The spoken word gives evidence that something is thought out and that a decision is made. It is physical evidence of Intention in the material world.
When our thoughts are transformed into speech, we accept a responsibility. “A man is only as good as his word.” We become Co-Creators who walk between two worlds when we give Voice to our Intention. We have to think before we speak, because once our thoughts are “out there” we were meant to stand behind them. We are held accountable by the sound of our own Voice.
Wind/IK is the Voice of the Creator who now asks us to respond. Road/EB’s Human Journey to a Dream is coming to its completion. We are drawn to make a Choice of where we will fit into the Universe, and the destination of our Destiny. We are called to Voice the Intention of our “I Am.” We must form our own words, the words we would stand behind and claim. Are we merely a human struggling to survive? Or… Will we Accept the Divine Inheritance that was the Word of God? We have been given the Spiritual Strength to speak it out loud.
SACRED CEREMONY: A New Moon Ceremony offered on the shamanic path is to write down on a piece of paper all the things we would choose to let go – our fears, our powerlessness, and our greatest challenge. Next to each one, we note how it would change our life if these things were no longer a part of our experience. We make an Offering to Mother Earth and Holding these Dreams in our hands present them to the Creator as our Intention of the New Moon. We speak the words of all we Dream to Be, living on Mother Earth. Then, we can employ the art of Alchemy by changing the form of its physical property. We burn the paper, place the ashes in a solution of equal parts of water and soda, and place it in the freezer. We our limitations transformed in their physical properties and immobilized. As Above, So Below. It stays there throughout the lunar cycle. At the Full Moon, we claim the Manifestation of our Blessing as the contents are released into a moving body of water.
This is an important time for a Sacred Ceremony. I can’t describe the feeling of releasing the “stuff” of my own suffering off the shore of Puget Sound. It was nothing, hardly a drop in a much larger Sea of Spirit. My challenges were suddenly brought into their right size. We don’t have to live in proximity of an ocean or river to complete this task. The Creator accepts where we are. There’s a moving body of water that flows down the drain, if our Intention is to visualize where it is going. The most important element is the Vibration of our Spoken Word. At the New Moon we command our Human Destiny and Claim what we Choose to Be. At the Full Moon, we release our sorrows and speak the words of Gratitude for our Blessing.
On November 3, 2017, the Full Moon will reside in Taurus. In the tradition of the indigenous Native Americans, Taurus is the sign of the Stag, the Powerful Deer. The Mayan Deer/MANIK is the symbol of Divine Authority of the Maya priest. The New Moon offers us an opportunity to claim the Full Power of our Spiritual Authority. November 3rd is 1 Flint/ETZNAB, the Galactic Leader of this Haab year, that holds the Higher Intention of an Empowerment by Truth. We will have completed the trecena of Serpent/CHICCHAN that offers a 10-day Portal to Spirit that ignites the “Lightning in our Blood.” The Flint/ETZNAB trecena carries us to the “core days” of the Tzolk’in calendar to an Ascension at 13 Dog/OC, the very center of the Tzolk’in, the balancing place at the “top of the pyramid of the 260-day Tzolk’in round, and the Tone 13 Ascension completed by the Day Sign that represents the Unconditional Love of the Creator. We have an opportunity to move in correspondence with Universal Cycles of Becoming the Hands of God in the material world.
To all my relations, the Wave of Spiritual Energy that we’ve hoped for and dreamed about is coming into shore. This is the opportunity we’ve waited for to ride it for all that its worth. May we claim it for its Highest Purpose by initiating the movement and sound that will create a new vibration of who we choose to be. May we use the Inspiration of the Mind that Wind/IK offers to discern the words we would Speak to the Creator under the Sign in the Vault of the Heavens that foretells a new beginning. May we respond to the Creator in a Spoken Dialogue the Choice we would make of a new “I Am.” As the Whirlwind carries our prayers to the Creator, when we are Seen at the Altar Above may we offer the Sound of our Voice. There is no greater Offering than our Choice to demonstrate our Belief in our Relationship with the Creator. May we Acknowledge that the Creator is “good at His word” for a Promise to Complete what was begun at Creation. May we complete the Journey of the Dream in a climb to the Highest Altar to find our place in the Universe is walking in the Power of our Oneness with the Creator. We are called to bold action by a Dream to be Different. May we grasp an Opportunity for New Life by Claiming the Identity of Spiritual Authority… engaging Dynamic Action that Facilitates our Change.

11 Wind/IK (Cherokee, Whirlwind/AGALU’GA)
Galactic Tone 11: Resolution; 11 assists every new thing to find its place in the universe in the process of ‘fitting in.’ some modifications must occur. Eleven is the energy of dynamic actions facilitating change, simplification and improvement.
Wind/IK: Breath of Spirit, breath of life. Winds embody the power of dissemination and planting of good seeds or ideas. Dreamers and planners with powerful imaginations, Wind persons make great orators and they spread the word of spiritual inspiration as it is carried by the wind. Wind is the power behind the movement of natural cycles such as weather, erosion, and cultural change. As the wind, these persons are extremely changeable and adaptable. They may appear inconsistent or fickle to others. Wind can be destructive to self and others by putting on airs. When Winds strut and boast, expanding on facts and accomplishments, they are building the dark clouds of trouble that may become hurricanes.
Cherokee, Whirlwind/AGALU’GA: Whirlwind’s symbol is a double spiral helix in rising smoke. Wind brings energy for an Inquiring mind, learning and wisdom. In Cherokee, the constellations are represented by 12 birds (dancers), the 13th bird is the Whirlwind, the lead dancer. This reflects the whirling of life. Wind is the breath of the Universe (matching the Mayan symbol) channel of communication and carries the Sacred Smoke to the Great Spirit (Source- Hunab Ku in Mayan); matches the pulse of the breath of the Cosmos.
