MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
Tone 7 is the place of Balance at the top of the pyramid where we’ve completed the climb of the Spiritual Growth phase of this trecena. Tone 7 represents the place where balance is created between the Above and Below.
The most ancient mystery teachings define this as the Principle of Correspondence. “As above, so below; as below, so above.” This principle embodies the Truth of a correspondence that exists on the various planes of the material, mental, and spiritual universe as a Universal Law.
Earth/CABAN is the Day Sign of the Movement and the Earth. Spinning on her axis, Mother Earth illustrates a “balancing act” that sustains her place in the universe. The Scale of Balance is a symbol of Justice that reflects Harmony and Equity.
The Universal Laws and Principles are Truths upon which we can make a discernment between the known and the unknown. Our outer behavior will always reflect the condition of our Spirit. And the condition of our Spirit will always be reflected through our behavior. This same law supports the Truth of Miracles. The Truth we claim in Spirit will be manifested on Earth.
Applying this principle we can see how our lives unfold as we expect them to. When we expect circumstances to unfold in a certain way, they will. We can learn a lot about the circumstances of our lives by contemplating this Truth.
Master Number 77: This Intention of Balance is doubled and amplifed as 7 Earth/CABAN is the 7th Tone in the 7th uinal. Number 7 relates to our inner wisdom, intuition, contemplation and discernment, inner strength and tenacity, endurance and determination. 7 relates to our empathic and psychic abilities, spiritual enlightenment, development, and spiritual awakening. Number 77 is a sign from the Angels that our effort in Spirit is about to payoff and to keep up the good work. Number 7 relates to good fortune. Number 77 is a sign that we can expect Miracles in our Life. [Sacred Scribes]
The Law of Correspondence helps us know that our current reality is a mirror of what’s inside. If we hold negative thoughts, our outer world will be filled with strife. We create our own self-fulling prophecies. When we hold positive thoughts, we can expect our life circumstances to unfold with positive results. We can see how this Law guarantees our Power to Create what we want in our lives. Where we are not in control over the circumstances of our life, we DO have control from the realm of Spirit. When we believe in miracles, miracles WILL happen.
Both the Cherokee and Aztec traditions interpret CABAN as a symbol of movement. The Cherokee Heron is a creature that lives life as a perpetual migration. The Aztec symbol of Ollin represents movement and is illustrated in the center of the Aztec’s stone calendar.
The symbol in the center is still subject to differing interpretation, there are indications that the face is that of Tlalteuctli, the earth lord. The common translation of ollin/olin is “earthquake” – a movement of the Earth.
“When an earthquake or great storm shook the earth, the ancient Aztecs described such power with a single word: Ollin. It is a word that can be found on the Aztec calendar and on many of the instruments used in sacred pre-Columbian ceremonies. Pronounced ALL-in, it ‘s an expression of immense depth that conveys intense and immediate movement. Stemming from the ancient Nahuatl language, Ollin is derived from “yollotl,” meaning heart, and “yolistli,” meaning life.
Ollin means to move and act now with all your heart. It means to follow your path in life wholeheartedly. To experience Ollin we have to get “All-in”. [Source: Kevin Hall, Ollin Institute]
The Aztec see Ollin as an auspicious day for the active principle, a bad day for the passive principle. Ollin is a day of the purified heart, signifying those moments where human beings may perceive what they are becoming. Ollin is a day for transmutation and change with the power of the quakes that resolve Earth’s balance.
The Aztec interpret the Monkey/CHUEN trecena as a cycle of obtaining the power to overcome misfortune, to transform poison into medicine, and evil into good. These were good days to fashion a warrior’s shield and collect items for the medicine bundle. Correspondent with the Principle of Correspondence, power embued in these objects by Spirit is balanced in the material plane.
Both the Tone 7 and Day Sign Earth/CABAN indicate a day when Miracles are Possible. We are encouraged to an “all-in” effort of Spirit. Standing on this Truth that we can manifest our Dreams, we can invest our Spirit with all our Heart. This is a day to claim the Promise magnified by 7 Earth/CABAN. We can transmute our fear by believing that every experience is correspondent with a Divine Plan.
This trecena has presented the possibility of a miracle in my life, the possibility of overcoming a long-term challenge, though the details must still be worked out. Yesterday’s update of the circumstances indicated that things could still go awry. Though my immediate response was that sick feeling of dashed hopes, I no longer have to linger there.
This is proof of a change in myself. I no longer entertain my own fear. I’ve developed a pattern of movement that naturally guides me to look to Spirit for the solution to any problem. I can discern this as an opportunity to manifest the change by continuing to claim the Miracle in Spirit.
This is our movement as the Spiritual Warrior… the perseverance to keep going, and to hold our Spiritual Ground. We can rely on the Principle of Correspondence for our Faith in a Miracle.
Just as Mother Earth holds the energy to maintain its balance through movement, so can she share that balancing energy in us in every realm of our existence. In the physical, Earth re-energizes Human through the exchange of geo-magnetic energy. So does she re-energize us is in the realm of Spirit.
Tone 7 presents an Intention for Reflection. We are called to reflect on the Beauty of the Earth in every direction. Her Beauty is Correspondent with the Human experience intended by the Creator. Her way of maintaining balance in physical world, reflects the balancing of karma from the world of Spirit. The Truth we create in Spirit will be manifest on Earth.
We can call on Divine Intervention for help. We can ask Divine Agency to help us maintain a positive attitude to hold the Vision of what we want, versus the vision of what we don’t want.
To all my relations, may we reflect the beauty of Mother Earth. May we reflect on the Forces of Nature as the stuff of miracles. May we see that like the Earth, Human is also capable to manifest a miracle. May we draw close to the healing energy of Mother Earth that can restore our Faith and Hope in the future. May we cleave to our Gratitude for the Blessing we Dream in our future.

21 DAYS of CEREMONY: Day 7
Observing 21 days of Personal Sacred Ceremony is a traditional preparation for the K’iche Maya New Year, 8 B’atz (8 Monkey/CHUEN). The New Year is a celebration of Time, and the day of Initiation for the new Mayan Daykeepers. We are preparing for an initiation into a new way of being. We can employ the Magic of the Jaguar by observing these 21 Days in Gratitude.
I’m grateful for Mother Earth, the first gift of the Creator that reflects the truth of miracles. I’m grateful that we were designed to maintain our balance through the chaos and upheaval that is part of every change. I’m grateful for the Compassionate Love that is reflected throughout Nature as a natural instinct in every living thing. I’m grateful that we were given a way to transcend every difficulty.

7 Earth/CABAN (Cherokee, Heron/GUWI’SGUWI)
Galactic Tone 7: Reflective. Seven stands as a mirror to divide light and dark and to reflect all that is and is not. Seven is associated with the source of creation and the flow of Divine Will. With a keen sense of ethics, Seven establishes purpose to current and future goals.
Earth/Caban: Earth/Caban: Keeper of the garden of Earth. Profound synchronistic connections to Earth’s natural cycles and energies provide power of creations and memories of ancient wisdom. Earth persons help dispel bad intentions, habits and ideas. This makes them very good counselors and masters of all arts. Studious and intelligent, Earth persons endeavor to bring a flow of natural order to all aspects of life. Being connected to the dynamic forces of nature, Earth persons need much liberty to facilitate their expression of migration or the sending of long distance communications such as the whales, elephants, birds and many other creatures. Sometimes Earth’s delicate sensitivities are upset resulting in quakes of emotion even the display of volcanic temper.
Cherokee, Heron/GUWI’SGUWI: Sign of movement and perpetual motion, Heron is symbolized by Deneb, located in the Northern Cross beside the Milky Way. “The Northern Cross is the Tree of Life, Beside the Milky Way River & Perched atop is Guwi’ sguwi, the Cherokee Heron Spirit Bird, comparable to the Phoenix that rises from the ashes of the past.
