MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
Serpent/CHICCHAN “lights the fuse that magnifies and explodes the life force itself.” CHICCHAN is the “lightning in the blood,” the force within the Seed that brings it to life. CHICCHAN is the Spark of the Creator that is seeded within us. Through our relationship with the Creator, we can become Conscious of our own Divine Power.
Tone 2 presents us with the Choice of a Creation “to be, or not to be.” Tone 2 holds the Intention of Duality. Duality reflects our ability to see the difference between one thing and another. The Seed/KAN trecena is leading a journey of self-discovery of our own Divine Design. We are guided to see who we are now, and who we dream to be. By choosing an Intention we design the plans for our own creation.
Seed/KAN offers the guidance of Serpent/CHICCHAN to ignite the Spark of the Force of Creation. CHICCHAN brings the gift of an Inner Knowing of our own Power to Create the Dream we Choose.
God created the design for the whole world. A Divine Consciousness is the alpha and omega, the first and last. An Omnipotent Creator holds the power to see everything from the beginning to the end. CHICCHAN can help us see that the plans for “everything that could be” are seeded within us.
Given the Power of Creation, so was Human made capable to see into the future. Human considers the idea of seeing into the future as the supernatural gift of Clairvoyance. We imagine it as a Special Gift of Spirit that only the few are capable to realize. We imagine how special it would be, if we could know our own future. Clairvoyance is a natural and normal by-product of holding the Power of Creation. As we recognize our own Power to Create, we can see that we are the Creators of our own Future. We can know the future by our own Intention. God Knew there would be Light in the future, because Light was an Intention of Creation.
Human was created to design our own future. Perhaps this is why the biblical texts forewarn against the use of Divination. No Human could tell another what their future will be without limiting the choice of All Possibility. Clairvoyance is a gift of seeing the future For Our Self. The only way to use it for others is by sharing the Truth that anything is possible. With the Spark of the Creator within, we can know what our future holds by our own Intention. Our future is determined within.
The Seed/KAN trecena is a celebration of the calendar that shows us the 13 steps of creation from the beginning to the end. We can see our future now by looking ahead to the Tone 13 of Ascension. The Seed/KAN trecena ends on 13 Wisdom/CIB. CIB is the Day Sign of the Old Ones and the Wisdom of the Ancients. Wisdom persons are aligned with the ancient memories in the stone temples and sacred sites around the world. Wisdom/CIB is a symbol of the Inner Strength of Introspection to discover the “areas of one’s Self that contain wisdom more valuable than any trove of archaeological treasure.” The future planned by our Divine Design is our capability to “grow luck like a crop.” Using a balance of prudence and tenacity, we will Ascend with the Wisdom that we create our own future.
2 Serpent/CHICCHAN offers the gift of awareness of the Sacred Spark within. Like a spark of electricity, we can Sense the Truth of a Spiritual Force within our Body and Soul. Given a Consciousness of All Possibility, we are guided to make the Choice for our Future. By establishing our Intention of Creation, we will realize our Power to Create by the Dream that Comes True. We are called to Design our Own “first and last,” our beginning and the end.
We could imagine the importance of using this day for planning rather than doing. Tone 1 inspires us to create. Before we begin we are called to layout all the plans. We are engaging in the role as the architect of our own future.
Tone 2 helps us come up with the design that will fuel our passion. By Loving the Creation we can generate the prudence and tenacity to see it through. Tone 2 can present us with a sense of urgency to get started. But like the ways of any architect, construction shouldn’t begin until the plans are fully formed. This is the day to consider all the possibilities.
CHICCHAN holds a purpose of initiating something new. The Serpent is fluid and flexible, making us capable to respond effortlessly to change. Like a snake that sheds its skin, we are able to expand into something greater than we were.
The Number 8 is said to be a number of “Pure Spirit.” Seed/KAN leads us to the Center of the 8th Uinal. We will be drawn to the 8th Tone of the 8th Uinal that will magnify a Transformation of our Spirit. 8 Monkey/CHUEN is the High Holy Day that celebrates the Sacred Calendar of Creation and Initiates us as Creators and Masters of Time.
We are on the home stretch of a Journey Home to the center of our Beingness. 8 signals the help of Divine Agency that accompanies our Journey. This is an important time to Honor each of the Day Signs as the Archetypes of a Divine Creator who will be with us from the beginning to the end. We can imagine each one falling into line, joining our path to guide us home on a Journey of Self-Realization.
To all my relations, may we look into our own future to 8 Monkey/CHUEN, the day when our Power of Creation will be exalted by a new Transformation. As we choose the Intention of a new Creation, may we allow ourselves to dream of every possibility. May the Spark from Chicchan help us realize our unlimited power to create, so that our question will cease to be whether “we can,” but whether “we will.” May we design our own future, and like the Monkey, watch with curiosity the way that it unfolds.
in lak’ech, i am another you

21 DAYS of CEREMONY: Day 15
Observing 21 days of Personal Sacred Ceremony is a traditional preparation for the K’iche Maya New Year, 8 B’atz (8 Monkey/CHUEN). The New Year is a celebration of Time, and the day of Initiation for the new Mayan Daykeepers. We are preparing for an initiation into a new way of being. We can employ the Magic of the Jaguar by observing these 21 Days in Gratitude.
I’m grateful for the Spark of the Creator that is seeded within that holds the answers to all the mysteries. I’m grateful for the Divine Instincts we were given to Know when we are presented with the Truth. I’m grateful that we were given the Authority to design our own future, and for a Sacred Calendar that was Divinely Discerned to reveal every step of the Journey from the beginning to the end.

2 Serpent/CHICCHAN (Cherokee, Serpent/DO’TSI)
Galactic Tone 2: Mysterious as the question ‘to be or not to be?” Two is the recognition of the separation of self from all else and the desire to be rejoined. Walking a balance while making choices of all kinds, light/dark, male/female, good/bad, Yin/Yang, is the energy of this number. Experiencing the differences between one and another is the use and purpose of this number.
Serpent/CHICCHAN: Movement and the creation of time. Sensual and dramatic, this sun sign embodies intense instinctual wisdom and creates a connection from Earth bound, to Heavenly aspirations. By sincere service to others, Serpent opens and expands its heart. Serpent aligns authority and the truth to bring justice that is quick and sure. Serpents are very adaptable, even fluid until trapped in a corner, and then they explode. Serpents, venomous temper poisons itself as well as others by creating resentful, suppressive and even destructive attitudes.
Cherokee, Serpent/DO’TSI: Serpent’s symbol is Constellation Serpens. Serpent people are Sky people who come to earth periodically as Educators. As above-So below, on Earth the Serpent is the roots of the tree of knowledge. Serpent power is vital energy, the moving force, the instinct and desire for creativity, the trigger that sets off the action. It lights the fuse that magnifies and explodes the life force itself. Knowledge, combining science, technology and psychology, plus spirituality are seeded on the planet.
