11 Deer / MANIK – A Dream of Mother Earth: Day 11 of 13

THE TRECENA OF EARTH/CABAN

MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL

11 Deer / MANIK

Greetings Kin,

Tone 11 holds the Intention of Resolution. We come to a conclusion from a Truth that’s crystal clear. 11 resolves way forward and gives our Life a direction. We’ve seen what the future is promised to be. What does it mean for tomorrow. Humans weren’t meant to spend all our time in the future.

Deer/MANIK can keep us anchored to the Truth with one foot planted in each of the 4 directions. MANIK is the Day Sign of the Mayan priest. The priest and the deer are perspectives of Vigilant Consciousness. The circle on the glyph represents and eye. MANIK is also known as Hand. The thumb and forefinger are grasping a thread of Ether that completes a Circuit of Divine Power.

MANIK serves as the Hand of God to lead the people. There is no Sunday service. The priests role is to Count the Days, perform the rituals, baptisms, and initiations. MANIK follows a dedicated path to observe the Holy Days and to carry out the Sacred Ceremonies on behalf of the whole.

MANIK leads by a gift of Harmonic Resonance, leading by attraction. MANIK leads with Unconditional Love in Humility and Integrity. Deer/MANIK is the giver of Spiritual Tools, and is said to keep every tool its used. The Deer’s shadow can be too many tools. Following many paths is okay, though it’s advised to be Wholly Invested in One

Residing in the West, Deer/MANIK leads the Unknown Journey. The Element of Water, holding the Ether of Spirit is used by the priest for baptisms, blessings, initiations, and purification. Deer can share its Vibration of Peace Beyond Understanding, standing Silently in its Truth. The priest listens and applies the Spiritual Medicine, standing without defense or need to explain – going about the motions as the heart called to do. Deer/MANIK holds the power to push away negative energies, holding a Tool from God that covers every Human limitation.

We’re guided to do our next right thing without any fan fair, doing what needs to be done. There will some uncomfortable challenges in the climb and some weight to bear. We need to Feel our experiences to be changed by them. If we follow the impulse to run away or cover them up, we can make our self sick from our feelings.

One thing CIMI the Comforter would do for a major life change is to make sure we’re well tended. There’s Energy invested in an Intention of Consciousness. Be a Hand of God to serve your own Heart, Mind, and Body. Acknowledge your body for all the years it’s carried you around.

The Heat of our Passion is a Fire of transmutation – it can change elements from one form to another. When you are carrying a burden, sit with it for a moment and allow its fire to burn. See and Acknowledge the feeling. You can ask your Divine Guardians in all 4 directions, to see that unwanted thoughts are ushered away. The Elders say to offer it a Blessing for the Experience.

It makes a difference when you choose a dedicated practice. Every human cycle of creation (13-days) is a Divine Initiation. There’s an order and a next place to go when you follow One path. In the Medicine Circle, we were guided to choose One for a teacher and to share a gift of tobacco as the symbolic commitment. You didn’t turn to every Moon Mother. One was to share witness of your path. That doesn’t mean we can’t explore all kinds of things. And we still have a choice of a totally unbridled way. We just need to show up at the altar, count the days, offer the sacred prayers and light the Fire for the Whole. When others See, they will remember.

To all my relations, may we hereby resolve to find Our way to cling to an altar. The Deer upholds the Pillars of Faith and an altar can uphold a foundation for our Life. The more time we spend there, the more we’ll find our Self choosing to go there. If we went to an altar long enough to take 3 Sacred Breaths, the effort will be Multiplied to Abundance.

Choose a sacred object to have and to hold that you can carry with you. Or, to have at  home in arm’s reach. What kind of a life did it have and how did it get to you? What do you wish it could help you remember? Bless it. Hold it when you’re feeling what you want to remember. A Rock holds a Force to hold things together in one form under tremendous heat and pressure.

Instead of running away, lean into your feelings, if only for a minute or two and take it in. Imagine you’re getting a “Divine Treatment.” Allow what is given and imagine being forged by fire. Imagine a future when the burden now would be easy to carry. It will make it worth it.

Humanity is carrying a burden. Assume that every person you meet has one, as big as the one you’re carrying. Be unmoved if people don’t pull off every encounter in honesty and integrity. Thoughts can change when we hear our own words. We can be the Hand willing to Listen Vigilantly as a Service, and walk in the sandals of Peace.

We’re in chaos that is the middle of a creation and Major Life Change. An old order must be broken down to find the ground for a New Life and New way of Living. Hold the Deer’s most Divine Tool close to your heart, the Provision that covers EVERY limitation. May we always be offering our Silent Prayers for the Whole. Take care. The world needs You.

in lak’ech, I am another you

11 Deer/MANIK (Cherokee, Deer/Ahwu’sdi)

Galactic Tone 11: Resolution; 11 assists every new thing to find its place in the universe in the process of ‘fitting in.’ some modifications must occur. Eleven is the energy of dynamic actions facilitating change, simplification and improvement.

Deer/MANIK (Hand): Deer are spirit tools. Silence itself is a spiritual experience for Deer. For Deer life is a pilgrimage. Deer are dominant persons who defend the people and will make sacrifices for others. The spirit of Deer upholds the pillars of the four directions. With the power inherent in the number four, Deer pushes away bad influences or negative energies. Skill and quality of work are very important to Deer. They are presented with tools for every task in life and it is with these that they are able to rise above limitations. Deer has a habit of keeping every tool it has ever used. This leads to clutter and indecision, loss and procrastination. When confronted with promises not kept, Deer becomes stubborn, manipulative and evasive.

Cherokee, Deer/Ahwu’sdi: Symbolized by Constellation Galagina, the Stag, known as Taurus, the Bull. It does not include the Pleiades and Hyades clusters which in Cherokee are viewed as separate. To feed, gatherers of food and supplies, they enjoy rituals, ceremonials, feasts, the souls of hospitality, sociability. Freedom versus security issues often inspire leadership and unique solutions.  Combined with artistic and inspiring energies in harmony with lunar cycles, they nourish the clans. Totem-Deer:  A priest or shaman, a powerful person in general, to overwhelm an individual with one’s personal power, divination; inclined to become a teacher, healer, guru, civic leader, or politician.  Ability to create harmonic resonance.

[Text in italics was the primary source of inspiration for my journal. These are the sources that started my journey and they are the reference for interpretation each day. By providing the original text, I hope to offer a way to see what inspired my thoughts and by including all the aspects – allow for something more to inspire you. Mayan descriptions are those written by Ian Lungold. Cherokee descriptions came from multiple sources.
