MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
13 Monkey / CHUEN
Greetings Kin,
13 Monkey/CHUEN marks an Ascension guided by the Weaver of Time. Number 13 is a symbol of theurgy, the Power Human holds through our rituals and sacred ceremonies to call upon the Power of Divine Agency to intervene in Human affairs.
Ritual and sacred ceremony is the Movement of Divine Communion. There is Power in the Movement and Sound that is Applied to our Prayers. We are Earnest in the prayers when we are Humbled. Human limitations make it impossible to forget One Last Hope.
The Light of Divine Agency leads us to the Consciousness of a Choice for our Life to Create the Happiness of our Dreams. On the Day of Ascension a Light breaks through – ALL the Choices we can make to create a Divine Life – an Uncommon Life of our very own.
Dog/OC helped us see that there is Love in the world and Love inside. Every One is worthy of Love. For all our differences we share the same Dream. The Storm/CAUAC shared the magnetic properties of Love. If we reach beyond our Self, we’ll be grasped by it.
The Monkey/CHUEN Sees things and Knows things and Loves what it could create with that. CHUEN is the Master of all arts, but hard to pin down to One Masterpiece. CHUEN doesn’t play by Human rules, knowing Creation is Manifested from Curiosity and Imagination. We naturally wonder about the things we Love. Sometimes there are too many ideas to pick just one. The Monkey shares the Truth with a Sense of Humor.
13 CHUEN is an Ascension to see ALL the Divine Possibilities, waiting for a Human hand to give it a little Push of Love. We see a New Life ahead and New Possibilities in the Future and there’s nothing to hold us back. There’s a Dog on one side of us, jumping to get out the door. On the other side, a Monkey says, “When are you going to start?” CHUEN is a Divine Creator with the Consciousness to Know that Creation begets Creation. That’s why the Monkey feels free to run to the next thing. It was just warming up for the REALLY BIG IDEA.
Monkey/CHUEN is the alchemist that creates from the “magic of Love.” The Monkey saw the Love in all the Gifts the Dog brought home, and saw how every gift was different. What was Seen as the Truth was the Dog’s affection for them all. The Dog was equally invested in every one.
Monkey holds the Bright Idea to create all the Beauty it can imagine to see. The Monkey holds the artist’s eye to see the Beauty in everything. It’s only a matter of seeing it up close or far away. Monkey/CHUEN looks at life from every perspective to find the angle that reflects the Light of Love. The Raccoon knows that the Beauty is often hiding beneath the surface. Love is the Living Water to clean it up and see the Truth within.
Monkey/CHUEN lies in the West, the Direction of the Unknown Future. CHUEN holds the Bright Ideas to create it. We get lots of wild ideas. Monkey is a Creator that knows, Creation begets Creation. The Monkey doesn’t play by silly human rules. The Monkey expects to get brighter ideas and is ready to leap to a new creation any time.
You have to have a sense of humor to see the Truth of Human limitations. “The sacrifice” for Love leads to the Sacred Exchange that marks a Divine Meaning for Time.
To all my relations, may we use our brain to figure out the Truth. May we give thanks for the Choice to be Happy. Creation IS a Ritual and a Sacred Ceremony, the Movement of a Divine Communion of Love. All things ring True by the Sound of their Intention.
May we give thanks for the Light that inspires our Dreams and shines a Light on the way every morning.
in lak’ech, i am another you,

HOLDING THE WAY OF THE JAGUAR: The Power of Gratitude
I’m grateful that Time, the Truth, and Common Sense can change our mind and our heart when we use it.

Galactic Tone 13: Ascension; Thirteen assists us to go to the next higher step, propels us to try something new or to try again. Thirteen energy takes us over the next mountain just to see what is there. Thirteen carries the last success to the newest effort. Thirteen is a number associated with the Ascended Masters, creation, expansion, and manifestation.
Monkey/CHUEN: Monkey is known to the Maya as the Weaver or Weaver of Time. Monkey takes ideas as threads of vines and weaves them into the fabric of our reality. New patterns or inventions are also woven into our lives by Monkey. Amiable, intelligent, generous and a jack of all trades, Monkey’s innocent curiosity leads to artistic expression and constructive solutions. Many Monkeys become highly respected merchants or speakers. They love performing practical jokes and crave attention, so much so that they may over-act or play the fool to get the spotlight. Monkeys have a short attention span and find it difficult to stay with anything long enough to master it.
Cherokee, Raccoon/KVH’LI: Star Symbol: Algol, a star in Perseus. Restless energy yearning for long-lost love. Algol was named DEMON STAR or MISCHIEVOUS ONE by the Ancients because it winks and fades at times. Raccoons are full of friendly mischief, eager to swap kisses for candy; magnetic leaders, full of humor and gaiety. Favorite food is corn, the mainstay of the Cherokee. Very artistic while being the “masked bandit” who steals your heart.
[Text in italics was the primary source of inspiration for my journal. These are the sources that started my journey and they are the reference for interpretation each day. By providing the original text, I hope to offer a way to see what inspired my thoughts and by including all the aspects – allow for something more to inspire you. Mayan descriptions are those written by Ian Lungold. Cherokee descriptions came from multiple sources.
