4 Earth / CABAN
Greetings Beloved Kin,
Tone 4 raises an Intention of Stability. In the 4th Hour of the Light, the Maya surveyed the field of corn to measure the work at hand. Tone 4 is related to the cube, an area defined by its borders and parameters. We can define a body of thought by setting boundaries for our thoughts. We can choose the “rules of our game.”
Earth/CABAN represents Mother Earth. She holds her Balance through perpetual motion. Ollin is the Aztec sign that simply means Movement, the Journey through Time. The Cherokee sign is the Heron, a creature of perpetual migration. The Heron is forever moving to greener pastures. The Heron is also a symbol of the Phoenix that rises from the ashes to Live Again.
Earth/CABAN is a Time to Live with all our Heart. CABAN is a symbol of the Divine Feminine, through the aspects of Compassionate Love to Discern the Highest Ways of Being.
The glyph illustrates the means for Discernment through a trinity of thoughts. The straight line begins from the East and represents Human’s first thought of linear reason. From our Objective Consciousness we see “what it is.” If we “don’t already know,” that thought automatically turns to our second thought from our Imagination to discern “what it means.” We can discern the Highest Meaning through the third thought, when we Choose to imagine a Divine Meaning and Purpose. The rising circles are the thoughts of the Divine Possibilities. We hold the means to see the Divine Truth when we take a Leap of Faith beyond our Human expectations.
Through our experience on Earth we can see who we are becoming. The answers lie in the 4 directions of Human’s experience. From the East we begin every day with the Light of the Sunrise and the Creator’s thoughts of Divine Inspiration. From the South, the down-below, we see a reflection of our self through our Relationships with one another and with the Natural World. Where the Sun sets in the West, we face our Unknown Future. Through a balanced view of our experience, we arrive in the North, the Wisdom from Above.
CABAN holds the Element of Fire as the Passion that burns in our Heart to Live and Be. The Aztec define the Time as “an auspicious day for the active principle, a bad day for the passive principle. Ollin is a day of the purified heart, signifying those moments where human beings may perceive what they are becoming. A good day for transmutation, which arrives like an earthquake that leaves in its wake the ruins of rationality, order and the preconceived.” Aztec Calendar
Earth/CABAN is the Clarion Call that begins all the Great Migrations on Earth. The Truth of who we want to be can shake our foundations. We can Sense the Truth of Greener Pastures that support the Dream of our Life and offer a place to grow. This is not a good day to “go along,” but follow our own way with all our Heart. We can maintain our Balance when we keep moving through one experience after another. We don’t have to get stuck in one perspective. CABAN offers the energy to stay the course by continuing to move on.
Our thoughts can get stuck on one matter in the South from our desire to maintain Right Relationship. That’s when we “go along” with our unconscious thoughts. Sometimes it takes an “earthquake” to shake us back to our Senses to Remember our Own Life and what we want to do with it. We can’t control the choices made by other Human beings. We have to choose our own ways.
The Elders taught us that to walk in Balance requires a Fall. When we first learned how to walk, we started from a place of stability and balance. To Move, we had to Fall out-of-balance into the Next Step. A New Seed of our Self is learning to walk in balance between a world Above and a world Below.
The Earth is one place we can always turn to remember the Beauty of Life. The Elders say that Earth was the enduring gift to Humanity, an Offering to Live in a Living world. All living things hold the passion to reach their highest potential when we rise to the Light of a New Day.
Earth offers the Vibration of Love that Heals our Mind, Body, and Spirit. Compassion is the Gift to “know how it feels.” Our stability can be restored when we are connected to the Mother of us all. CABAN grounds us to the Intention Above, from the Earth beneath our feet.
Jaguar/IX is the Guardian of Mother Earth that sees and acknowledges her as the Source of everything we need. Everything that Humun knows, we learned from Mother Earth. The Creator’s Intention of Beauty is written on every scale. Today we can see the possibility for New Life, moved by Faith, Hope, and Charity to be a Living, Loving, part of it all. May we plant our Feet on Mother Earth and reach for the stars to claim our Highest Potential.
This is a day observed as a Time to bring an Offering to Mother Earth. May we fall into step with Love, the way of every Living thing. The animals and the plant beings carry out the way by primal instinct. We have to make the Choice to follow our own Heart.
May we only “go along” with the thoughts of Harmony and the Faith that we will rise again.
in lak’ech, i am another you

THE TRECENA OF JAGUAR/IX: A VISION QUEST OF SPIRIT TO LIGHT A DIVINE WAY
The Highlights, Peak Energies, and Times of Synchronicity for this trecena are included on the 13-Day Trecena Guide.
The “Tzolk’in Field Guide” is my gift to download that includes the Count of Days with the aspects for each Destiny Kin and highlights for a personal practice with each trecena. It’s designed as a companion for daily practice.
Visit the 13-Day Trecena Guide. to download a free copy. Volume 1 covers the first two seasons of the Tzolk’in, and Volume 2 covers the 3rd and 4th to the end of the Tzolk’in round.
The beginning is a good place to start a dedicated daily practice to record the Truth of your daily experience. When you track your the thoughts and experiences that don’t appear to mean a thing, you’re mind will be changed the next time around when the same thing happens again on the very same day. At least you’ll question the coincidence to see the Truth of Divine Synchronicity, when it happens the 3rd time – and you KNOW Time had a meaning and you were exactly where you were supposed to be. I’ve forgotten all about miracles that happened before, until I see them happen again. That’s when you see that YOUR story was already written before you were even born.
4 Earth/CABAN (Cherokee, Heron/GUWI’SGUWI)
Galactic Tone 4: Stability; the cube is most stable of all forms and establishes volume by definition of height, length, depth and breadth; 4 directions establish orientation. The energy of 4 sets the parameters, which establish the freedoms and barriers needed to create a game, work, or relationship.
Earth/Caban: Earth/Caban: Keeper of the garden of Earth. Profound synchronistic connections to Earth’s natural cycles and energies provide power of creations and memories of ancient wisdom. Earth persons help dispel bad intentions, habits and ideas. This makes them very good counselors and masters of all arts. Studious and intelligent, Earth persons endeavor to bring a flow of natural order to all aspects of life. Being connected to the dynamic forces of nature, Earth persons need much liberty to facilitate their expression of migration or the sending of long distance communications such as the whales, elephants, birds and many other creatures. Sometimes Earth’s delicate sensitivities are upset resulting in quakes of emotion even the display of volcanic temper.
Cherokee, Heron/GUWI’SGUWI: Sign of movement, of perpetual motion, recycling, regeneration; environmentalists fighting for the underdog. Heron is mentally alert, rational, yet opinionated; has a great faith in people and in the divine plan, holding the magic of ministry, medicine, marketing and matchmaking; healing abilities, especially with crystals; negotiation and mediation energy. Heron is symbolized by Deneb, located in the Northern Cross beside the Milky Way.
[Text in italics was the primary source of inspiration for my journal. These are the sources that started my journey and they are the reference for interpretation each day. By providing the original text, I hope to offer a way to see what inspired my thoughts and by including all the aspects – allow for something more to inspire you. Mayan descriptions are those written by Ian Lungold. Cherokee descriptions came from multiple sources.
