There are two full moons in August, 2023, one at the beginning and the end. The Full Sturgeon Moon on August 1, 2023, is named after the primitive fish that used to be abundant in North America’s lakes and rivers during the summer months. The Full Moon on Tuesday, 1 August 2023, is the first Supermoon at 09°15′ Aquarius. A second full moon, also a Supermoon, will occur at the end of the month on Wednesday, August 30, 2023. A Supermoon occurs when the moon’s orbit is closest (perigee) to Earth at the same time it is full. A rare phenomenon, this Blue Moon in Pisces is also the closest Supermoon of the year.
This Sturgeon Moon in Aquarius, August 1, 2023 will beckon us to connect with others as we ponder our place in the world. During this lunation you may experience a few different energetic frequencies. First, the full Moon will be square to Jupiter, which may make you feel larger than life—social, uplifted, and eager for laughter! But be mindful that this extreme optimism may lead to over indulgence. This tendency may be further amplified by a clash between Venus and this lunations ruling planet, Uranus, resulting in a topsy-turvy energy that may affect desires, passions, and relationships. Mercury will be opposite Saturn, which could bring some heavy mental smog, but luckily Mars will dance effortlessly with Jupiter, bringing a gusto of perseverance, confidence, and courage despite anything that may stand before you.
The Blue Moon Supermoon in Pisces at 7 degrees, August 30, 2023 is said to bring about a heightened sense of awareness and intuition. It is a time of increased emotional energy, making it an ideal time for healing, meditation, and spiritual practices. Overall, the August blue full moon super moon is a rare and powerful event that holds great significance to many cultures and individuals. It is a time to reflect on the past, set intentions for the future, and connect with the energy of the universe.
In addition to the spiritual and cultural significance of the August blue full moon super moon, there are also scientific reasons why this event is interesting to study.
For example, during a supermoon, the increased gravitational pull of the moon can cause higher tides, known as “spring tides.” These tides can have an impact on coastal ecosystems and can even cause flooding in some areas.
Furthermore, the blue color of the moon during a blue moon is often the result of atmospheric conditions, such as smoke or dust in the air. Studying these conditions can provide insights into the Earth’s atmosphere and climate.
The first Supermoon (Sturgeon Moon) on August 1, 2023, falls on 5 Eagle/MEN, the end of a 21 day ceremony of Gratitude that began on 10 Jaguar/IX. 10 Jaguar/IX reflects the power of 2 Hands and IX is a symbol of Spirit. Tone 5 is a symbol of Empowerment (the Number associated with Human’s Hand), and Eagle/MEN represents a power to clearly see the future within our grasp.
The second Supermoon (Blue Moon) on August 30, 2023 falls on 8 Seed/KAN, a symbol of Justice (8) and the Divine Knowing held within the Seed to know what it is intended to be. Seed/KAN is a symbol of our Divine Karma and the Sacred Right to choose the conditions that are right for us to reach the end.
The “core days” of the Tzolk’in (the 7th uinal) reflect a Time in the creative void (the chrysalis of the Galactic Butterfly), when we are creating a New Seed of our Self, and creating the New World that will foll0w as the Truth of our new reality.

3 Reed/BEN (Cherokee, Reed/I’HYA) – Day 3 of 13, the 1 Monkey/CHUEN journey that is the Dawn of a New Creation
Descriptions by Ian Xel Lungold (12 Sun/AHAU), wisdom preserved on MayanMajix.com
Galactic Tone 3: Action. Three is basic movement and communication, which begins as a vibration. Three energy is very eloquent in all types of self-expression. Communication is how Three establishes a point of agreement between any point “A” and any point “B”. Three persons are rhythmic to the core and are often restless, as motion is their nature. By working closely with the energy of Three, any person becomes more able to predict motions of all kinds.
Reed/BEN: Reed persons are the spiritual essence, protectors and guiding light for family and home. They are competent speakers who will take up a cause. Very tough and analytical, Reeds endeavor to bring peace, harmony and order to all o their relations. Reeds are blessed with great skill at negotiations and consoling which are very often put to the test. Although Reeds need a lot of appreciation, may have marriage or business problems because of inflexible vies and high expectations, which erode affinity. The lesson for Reed is to be like a garden hose, not a steel pipe. Bless or repair your house.
A GOOD DAY TO: Bless and repair the home.
Cherokee, Reed/I’HYA: Symbol-Reed is the Earth, reflection of the Star Chaga of Pollux. Reed made up the Magician Twins who led the journey to bring back to life the daughter of the Sun. The Casket is Gemini. Energy for Intellectual minds, creation, re-creation, new directions, breaking the ties that bind. A trailblazer and leader. From the East, direction of success and happiness, no matter what route is taken, always ending up in the Light.
