Remembering the Past, August 7, 2022, 10 Wisdom/CIB
Greetings Beloved Kin,

My Pal Shadow
The weight of the world hit me this morning. I was grateful for the altar to the Ancestors. I asked them to take over for a while. I forgot your Mayan birthday is also a Personal Burner Day. So, that’s two burners for me in the Deer/MANIK trecena. On the last round, I’d just lost Shadow and a family. I didn’t know then that I was 40 days away from buying a home in Kansas. I didn’t imagine I would drive 2,000 miles over the Cascade Mountains in sub-freezing weather and blinding snow. I didn’t know my new buddie, Girlie the talking cat. I didn’t know there would still be more to lose.
Life is still very good in a sanctuary of my own. Everyone deserves to have one. That’s a reason to be grateful, and a reason to be sad for those who don’t share the blessing.

August 7, 2022 was the saddest day on the 2022 Jewish calendar, Tisha B’Av, the ninth day of the Hebrew month of Av. Millions observe the time as a day of weeping, from 6pm to 6pm the day after. Tisha B’Av is a sacred ceremony of prayer that calls to the Highest One from the darkness of the Unknown.
There’s a Time for every purpose. Tisha B’AV is the Sign that there’s a Divine Meaning and Purpose for sorrow that carries on from the darkness of one day to the next.
Wisdom/CIB guides the way of Forgiveness to claim the Keys to the Kingdom. Time is ordered to Honor the Old Ones, and every member of the Human Race for the Unknown Journey to the “other side” we share as One.

10 Wisdom / CIB
CIB’s totem is the Owl, the essence of one who can see what’s behind, and see beyond the illusions of Darkness. Knowledge isn’t the same thing as Wisdom. What we Know is of little use to us until we apply it to see the Truth of the Past, and the Present, to See the Future.
Every step in the order of Creation leads us to Higher Ground. Tone 10 holds the Intention of Manifestation. Time is ordered to claim the Truth of the Past that we CAN see, to claim the Dream that’s Here and Now.
There are Divine Times to do nothing at all. Just being is a Divine State of Mind. It takes Wisdom to Wait for the Dream we see in the future. The Eagle gave us the vision to see in the distance, and the directive to focus on the prize. The Deer/MANIK trecena is sharing Spiritual Tools, and an exponential power of Vigilance as a Dedicated Purpose for the Highest Cause.
The Challenge of Manifestation is claiming the Truth that our Dream is already True. Seeing the Truth depends on which way we look at it, from the future to the past. The step before taught us the Truth of yesterday to apply to Today.

“This morning” (9 Eagle/MEN) I woke to a day of Windy Rain with a forecast of snow beginning This Morning at 5AM CT. It felt like bundling up on the couch with hot chocolate for a movie. Only, I don’t care so much for movies anymore.
I realized this year has been a sabbatical with me resisting it all the way. I was ready to take a bull by the horns in January 2023. Then, I fractured my pelvic bone on a trip to the woods to leave an Offering for Mother Earth. There’s a Time to Heal, and it takes longer than a whole day of crying. I’m grateful the Creator stopped me in my tracks, and for all the time of a physical healing that offered some meaning to a “loss of Time.”
Time wasn’t lost, behind the scenes our Spirit was clearing, reorganizing, and preparing. Our greatest challenge is “the work” we can’t see.
There’s no order for crying today, only a “snow day” with a Divine Opportunity for some Time Off to be open to our thoughts. A Truth even Higher than we claim today, is the Sacred Exchange ordered for tomorrow. We’re shifting gears to go with a Higher flow.
Tomorrow is 11 Earth/CABAN, the Dawn of a Clarion Call to live with all our Heart. On Tone 11 the Mayan priest climbs to the Highest Altar to see the Truth from a Higher Perspective. We never have to be “right” – just wiser than we were yesterday. Today is the Time to Think about the past to prepare for tomorrow, when an even Higher Truth makes our Heart as Light as a feather.
Don’t you love the Times when you are driven by the Heart to do whatever it takes to complete an end? Can you remember? It’s about to happen again. The Mission of the Deer/MANIK is to give thanks for the Darkness that will bear witness to the Light. The Human Race looks as far as we can to Know the Beginning of Time. The Wisdom for a beginning Here and Now is near as the Truth we learned yesterday.
The Owl finds it’s wings flying under the radar with means see in the Darkness. This isn’t Time for crying. Look to your Past for the Blessing that was waiting in your future. Claim your own Truth of a Dream that’s Here and Now that you couldn’t see before. All the Dreams that came true before, is the Truth of Answered Prayers. On Mother Earth we’re moving, even when we’re standing still.
The waiting may appear to take forever. On the other hand, Time is flying.
One journey has to end for a new creation to begin. The first Light of the New Year offered the memories of “Auld Lang Syne.” The Offering to let by-gones be by-gones created a Sacred Exchange in the future. Every offering is promised an Atonement. We can claim redemption for our old life to rest in peace, but for memories of Love that carried us to the other side.
Reaching to know the Truth is a Divine Service. The Only Truth that matters is Answered Prayers. Our Truth matters to us to Know we are “enough” to discern the Truth of our own experience. As long as we’re willing to admit how little we know, we’re headed in the right direction. When we fly under the cover of darkness our Dreams will always appear to be a Miracle. Then, the Creator gets all the credit.
Whatever the Truth appears to be today we can claim it’s part of the Miracle of tomorrow.
love, in lak’ech, i am another you

HOLDING THE JAGUAR’S EARTH MAGIC OF GRATITUDE:
I’m grateful for my life.
THE TRECENA OF DEER/MANIK: THE SERVICE OF LOVE
The Highlights, Peak Energies, and Times of Synchronicity for this trecena are included on the 13-Day Trecena Guide.
The “Tzolk’in Field Guide” is my gift to download that includes the Count of Days with the aspects for each Destiny Kin and highlights for a personal practice with each trecena. It’s designed as a companion for daily practice.
Visit the 13-Day Trecena Guide. to download a free copy. Volume 1 covers the first two seasons of the Tzolk’in, and Volume 2 covers the 3rd and 4th to the end of the Tzolk’in round.
Crocodile/IMIX is the first trecena in the first season of the Tzolk’in round, found in Volume 1. The guide includes the overview for each trecena and the aspects for every day, so you can discern the Meaning of Time as it applies to your own Time and Place. It’s interesting to calculate the major dates in your life. You might discover they happened on the same Tzolk’in date. The calendar is written within. The Order is what we are naturally inclined to do. When you keep a daily journal to track your thoughts, you’ll see history repeat itself when the same matters are on your mind on the same day of every Tzolk’in round, only on a higher scale. One time around I overcame a fear of driving through Seattle rush-hour traffic. The next time, I was overcoming my fear to make a solo pilgrimage to the Mayan ruins of Ek’ Balam.
Also see Daykeeper Resources for calculators and calendar links, and the Spiritual Tools page for ways to add to cause for a higher effect.
10 Wisdom/CIB (Cherokee, Owl U’GUKU’) – Day 10 of 13 of the 1 Deer/MANIK trecena
Descriptions by Ian Xel Lungold (12 Sun/AHAU), wisdom and Tzolk’in calculator preserved on MayanMajix.com
Galactic Tone 10: Manifestation. What were once intentions or ideas, hopes or fears become physically present with the energy of Ten. What is focused upon with attention and intention becomes real with Ten. Ten is a powerful energy that carries a great responsibility.
Wisdom/CIB: The old ones. Wisdom of the ancients. Wisdom persons are aligned with the ancient memories that wait in the stone of temples and sacred sites all over the world. Wisdom people grow luck like a crop using a balance of prudence and tenacity. The tremendous inner strength of this sign enables silent introspection to discover areas of oneself that contain wisdom more valuable than any trove of archaeological treasure. Wisdom persons are valiant defenders of family and community. They may become hardened to life and sentiment turned cold. In these cases, they need much forgiveness for their uncaring errors. Periodically connecting with nature and or visiting sacred sites will bring great stability to wisdom persons.
A GOOD DAY TO: Sit on a rock.
Cherokee, Owl U’GUKU’ : Symbol is the Owl is Arcturus, the brightest Star in the Constellation Bootes. The Cherokee Bear constellation (Ursa Major) includes the Big Dipper plus four stars in Bootes. Owl is a hunter, who stands for the wisdom and ability of all great hunters, the cunning of a fox, the tenacity of a bulldog and strength of a bear. Energy for deep thinkers, strong-willed, rigid convictions, bold and authoritative. Owl is the Mystic Ferryman who guides Earthlings on the return path to the stars holding the torch aloft.
