1 Deer/MANIK

Greetings Beloved Kin,

Deer/MANIK, also known as Hand, is a symbol of Stability with a leg to plant in each of the 4 directions. The glyph illustrates a Hand that grasps a thread of plasma that completes a Divine circuit to  the Power of the Creator’s Hand, Above.

The first 2 trecena’s of the Tzolk’in round defined our new identity and the exponential Power of Human’s Spirit to lead us to the end that was intended from the beginning. The trecena of Deer/MANIK reflects the Mission that manifests a Divine Meaning and Purpose for our Life.

MANIK is the Destiny Kin of the Mayan priest, one who has dedicated their Life to serve as the Creator’s Hand in the down-below. The Mayan priest counts the days and carries out the rituals and sacred ceremonies that are ordered by Time on behalf of the Whole.

“Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” (Matthew 18:19-20)

As the Mayan priest, MANIK is the One that leads a path to an altar, where every One that follows creates the Two to stand in Divine Trinity.

A Hand Above and a Hand Below

Deer/MANIK holds the Power of Harmonic Resonance. The Offering of Love manifests the Highest Vibration that draws lower vibrations into sympathy to create Harmony with Divine Song of the Universe. The Deer is a living demonstration of Faith in Action. The circle on the glyph represents the Vigilant Eye of the Deer that upholds the Integrity of the Truth and the Offering of Unconditional Love.

MANIK reflects the Truth and the Way to reach our Highest End. Dedicated to the Creator’s Highest Purpose, MANIK helps us Remember the Truth of Answered Prayers. The totem Deer represents strength and beauty. The Deer stands silently without defense, knowing the Power of the Truth to speak for itself. It’s easy to forget the One who always stands in our corner. A Dedicated Path is the only way to remember.

The Deer can take an arrow to the Heart that passes right through. MANIK resides in the West, the direction of our Unknown Future. Through the Element of Water MANIK shares the Truth that speaks through the Heart.

The Next 13-Days…

A CYCLE OF LIGHT
Blue and Red Day signs represent cycle of “Light” as the Offering of Divine Inspiration. We were created to be the Living Demonstration of the Creator’s Love in the world. We were intended to be the vessel that bears witness to the Power of Faith in One who never fails.

The Elders say our challenges never a matter of what we can do, but “Will You Remember.” Through a dedicated path of Spirit, we will be drawn to the place where we remember the Word of Truth and a Promise of a Hand of Divine Agency.

Deer/MANIK is the giver of Spiritual Tools. The Mayan priest holds the Medicine Bundle passed down by the generations that came before. We are offered a Staff to lean on as the One most important Truth of a Divine Provision for all our Limitations.

GLOBAL BURNER: 4 Dog/OC
There are 4 Global Burner days, one at the center of each Season of the Tzolk’in round. They represent a release of residual energies, burning away matters that no serve our Highest Good. Global Burners always fall on Tone 4 of Stability. 4 Dog/OC offers the Truth of Love as our foundation for the future.

We feel the build up of stress on days leading to the release. We may feel some extra stress about our Unknown Future given the proximity of the date with the beginning of the New Year. Don’t worry. Everything will be okay. This is a good time to apply your best Spiritual Tools to remember.

The New Year has been the source of many traditions down through Time. This is a good time to clear away the “old” to make room for the “new.” Cleaning house is one way to occupy our mind and steer clear of negative thoughts. The Deer/MANIK trecena is a perfect time to consecrate a sacred object to have and to hold as a reminder of your Faith in the future. It’s also a good time to add something new to your daily practice.

Our greatest strength will come from a Divine Reason to carry on. Our Hand of Faith and Love is needed in the world. If you feel stressed, imagine how others feel who don’t have a spiritual practice. Someone needs to stand on behalf of the whole to remember “everything will be okay.”  Words of Faith hold Divine Power to turn thoughts away from the doom and gloom projected at us from all sides. Remember, we’re NOT “doing everything all wrong.” We’re doing things Our Way. The Elders say there are an unlimited number of ways to accomplish the same thing. We don’t have to engage with “you’re doing it all wrong” or the “truth everyone else knows.” The Truth doesn’t need a “come-on headline.” The Creator will reveal the Truth that matters to our life, exactly when we need to know.

All we need is a Vigilant Eye to see the Truth of everyday. Deer/MANIK can Feel the Truth that covers our Heart. Lean on the Words of Faith by your own tradition that bring you Comfort and Peace of Mind. The Truth is the Way.

Isaiah 54:17No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.

All it takes is one step in the right direction to be carried by the Power of the Creator’s unfailing Grace and Divine Authority. A New and Higher Seed of our Self can do whatever we have to do to carry on in Faith. (Psalms 91 is an excellent tool to turn doubts and fears away.)

The Guardian of the Trecena
13 Storm/CAUAC marks our next Ascension. CAUAC fulfills the Promise that every Hand that reaches in Faith will be grasped from Above. A Power Greater than our self will pull us through.

As “servants of the Lord” we’re already covered by the Hand Above. When we turn a Vigilant Eye toward someone else who suffers, we’ll remember how truly blessed we are. There’s never anything to fear when we’re united with the One for our Highest Purpose. The most important question for this Time is “what will we do to remember?”

Isaiah 6: 8
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”

On Tone 1 we start over again from a state of inertia. The intention on Tone 1 is to be present in the moment to be Divinely Inspired. It may feel like a low energy day, or a day when no matter how much effort you invest, it seems hard to reach an end.

May we celebrate the New Year as One, believing in Miracles promised by the most Vigilant One that watches over us from Above.

in lak’ech, I am another you,

Debra, 9 Eagle/MEN

THE JAGUAR’S EARTH MAGIC OF GRATITUDE:
I’m grateful for a Power Greater than our Self who has a Divine Plan for our Life and promised that it SHALL Be.

THE TRECENA OF DEER/MANIK: THE SERVICE OF LOVE

The Highlights, Peak Energies, and Times of Synchronicity for this trecena are included on the  13-Day Trecena Guide.

The “Tzolk’in Field Guide” is my gift to download that includes the Count of Days with the aspects for each Destiny Kin and highlights for a personal practice with each trecena. It’s designed as a companion for daily practice.

Visit the 13-Day Trecena Guide. to download a free copy. Volume 1 covers the first two seasons of the Tzolk’in, and Volume 2 covers the 3rd and 4th to the end of the Tzolk’in round.

Crocodile/IMIX is the first trecena in the first season of the Tzolk’in round, found in Volume 1. The guide includes the overview for each trecena and the aspects for every day, so you can discern the Meaning of Time as it applies to your own Time and Place. It’s interesting to calculate the major dates in your life. You might discover they happened on the same Tzolk’in date. The calendar is written within. The Order is what we are naturally inclined to do. When you keep a daily journal to track your thoughts, you’ll see history repeat itself when the same matters are on your mind on the same day of every Tzolk’in round, only on a higher scale. One time around I overcame a fear of driving through Seattle rush-hour traffic. The next time, I was overcoming my fear to make a solo pilgrimage to the Mayan ruins of Ek’ Balam.

Also see Daykeeper Resources for calculators and calendar links, and the Spiritual Tools page for ways to add to cause for a higher effect.

1 Deer/MANIK (Cherokee, Deer/Ahwu’sdi)  – Day 1 of 13 of the 1 Deer/MANIK trecena

Descriptions by Ian Xel Lungold (12 Sun/AHAU), wisdom and Tzolk’in calculator preserved on MayanMajix.com

Galactic Tone 1: Unity. One is the beginning of all things, the first, the whole and the all in one. One’s are assertive and self-guided and give a good push to whatever project they are associated with. One persons work best when meeting a challenge. Do not expect One-persons to be attentive to details or to put the finishing touches on things.

Deer/MANIK (Hand): Deer are spirit tools. Silence itself is a spiritual experience for Deer. For Deer life is a pilgrimage. Deer are dominant persons who defend the people and will make sacrifices for others. The spirit of Deer upholds the pillars of the four directions. With the power inherent in the number four, Deer pushes away bad influences or negative energies. Skill and quality of work are very important to Deer. They are presented with tools for every task in life and it is with these that they are able to rise above limitations. Deer has a habit of keeping every tool it has ever used. This leads to clutter and indecision, loss and procrastination. When confronted with promises not kept, Deer becomes stubborn, manipulative and evasive.

A GOOD DAY TO: Be of Service to others.

Cherokee, Deer/Ahwu’sdi: Symbolized by Constellation Galagina, the Stag, known as Taurus, the Bull. It does not include the Pleiades and Hyades clusters which in Cherokee are viewed as separate. To feed, gatherers of food and supplies, they enjoy rituals, ceremonials, feasts, the souls of hospitality, sociability. Freedom versus security issues often inspire leadership and unique solutions.  Combined with artistic and inspiring energies in harmony with lunar cycles, they nourish the clans. Totem-Deer:  A priest or shaman, a powerful person in general, to overwhelm an individual with one’s personal power, divination; inclined to become a teacher, healer, guru, civic leader, or politician.  Ability to create harmonic resonance.

[Text in italics was the primary source of inspiration for my journal. These are the sources that started my journey and they are the reference for interpretation each day. By providing the original text, I hope to offer a way to see what inspired my thoughts and by including all the aspects – allow for something more to inspire you. Mayan descriptions are those written by Ian Lungold. Cherokee descriptions came from multiple sources.
