SPACEWEATHER: Venus at 100%

Noon Venus, Taken by Patricio Leon on July 13, 2024 @ Santiago, Chile (Source: Spaceweather.com Real Time Image Gallery

SPACEWEATHER.COM NEWS: JULY 15, 2024

VENUS IN FULL: Like the Moon, Venus has phases. There is one phase, however, that astronomers rarely see: Full. The 100% disk of Venus can be devilishly difficult to observe because it only appears when Venus is behind the sun. On July 13th, Patricio Leon photographed the full disk in a blue winter sky over Santiago, Chile.

“I located the planet by optical means when it was close to transiting the meridian at noon,” says Leon. “In round numbers it presents a 100% phase, measures 10 arcseconds in diameter, and lies 10° east of the sun.”

This won’t last long. Venus is emerging from the glare of the sun to renew its position as the Evening Star. As the second half of 2024 unfolds, it will shape-shift into a gibbous, half, then crescent easily seen in the twilight sky. If you decide to catch the rare Full Venus, do so now, but be careful! The blinding sun is only 10° away.

A Handy Guide for Measuring the Sky

Hold your hand at arm’s length and close one eye.

  • Make a fist, with the back of your hand facing you. The width of your fist will approximately be 10 degrees. This means that any two objects that are on the opposite ends of your fist will be 10 degrees apart. The North Star (Polaris) and Dubhe, one of the northern pointers of the Big Dipper are 3 fists apart. This means that angular distance or angular separation between the two stars is 30°.
  • Open up your fist, stretch your little finger and thumb as far as you can and curl down the rest of your fingers. The tip of your little finger and your thumb will span about 25°. The Big Dipper spans around 25°.
  • The tip-to-tip span between your index finger and your little finger is 15°.
  • Your three middle fingers will span about 5°.
  • Your little finger at an arms length is about 1° wide.

It is important to note that such measurements are approximate – not everyone has the same sized hand. (Source: TimeAndDate.com)

20 STARLINK SATELLITES WERE LOST: Jonathan McDowell of Harvard University reports that all 20 Starlink satellites launched on July 11th have re-entered Earth’s atmosphere. A failure in SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket caused the satellites to be deployed lower than usual, too low to escape the drag of the atmosphere below. Right now, our atmosphere is extra-puffed up by high solar activity, so the satellites were doomed despite “warp 9” thruster firings. If you witnessed any of the re-entries, please submit your images here.

Mayan Time…

Synchronicities of 10 and 20:

By Mayan time, 10 is the value of a Hand Above and a Hand Below (5 plus 5). Sun/AHAU is Position 20, a “higher symbol” of Zero, a circle symbolized as a shell, a “Seed” of the Ocean.

The Sun knocked 20 satellites out of the sky.

3 Seed/KAN (Cherokee, Dragon/UKTE’NA) – Day 3 of 13 of the 1 Wind/IK trecena

Descriptions by Ian Xel Lungold (12 Sun/AHAU), wisdom and Tzolk’in calculator preserved on MayanMajix.com

Galactic Tone 3: Action. Three is basic movement and communication, which begins as a vibration. Three energy is very eloquent in all types of self-expression. Communication is how Three establishes a point of agreement between any point “A” and any point “B”. Three persons are rhythmic to the core and are often restless, as motion is their nature. By working closely with the energy of Three, any person becomes more able to predict motions of all kinds.

Seed/KAN: Family, sexual activity and the magic of germination are the characteristics of this sun sign. Natural net workers, Seed people strive to free themselves and others from debt or oppressive patterns of the past. Abundance is gathered by Seeds as if with a cast net. Seed persons are public defenders who work toward uniting community by discovering hidden traps and secret influences of others. To generate true abundance, Seed must learn to appreciate all gifts and lessons received and conduct profound investigations into its self. In the absence of gratefulness and the courage to face oneself, Seed finds itself in less than less fertile environments.

A GOOD DAY TO: Plant, make new contacts, reconnect with others.

Cherokee, Dragon/UKTE’NA   O’STO: Dragon’s symbol is Draco winding between the Little Dipper and Big Dipper. Dragon is the Corn Spirit, symbol of dual personality of Corn Mother and Maiden; fertility and pro-creation from generation to generation. The word dragon means “eye, to look at, to see clearly”. Spirit brings energy of Lawgiver, Justice, vigilance and protective, loyal unto death. Ley lines in China are “dragon lines”, energy is sometimes called “orgone energy”, pyramid power or magnetic force. Pyramids and kivas are collector portals for this energy, knon as vortexes. Dragon energy beats a path everywhere, stirring things up with a big stick in tune with the beat of the drum, heartbeat of the Earth.
