Mercury Stations Direct: August 28, 2024

Mercury is said to be in retrograde when it appears to go “backward” for observers from the Earth. In reality, the planet doesn’t change its direction — this is only an optical illusion in the sky.

The speedy little planet goes retrograde three or four times in a calendar year for about three weeks. In 2024, Mercury will be in retrograde from April 4 to April 24, from August 4 to August 27, and from November 25 to December 15.

Mercury will be visible in the morning sky from August 30 to September 19, 2024. (See “All You Need to Know About Mercury on StarWalk.)

Astrological Significance: Mercury Retrograde is an Opportunity to tie up loose ends in the past. The retrograde cycle is known for disruptions in communication. The benefit is increased awareness of our faculties of discernment. We can resolve issues from the past when we repeat the process to see the Truth from a Higher Perspective, and Forgive what no longer serves. Mercury Retrograde is not a good time to sign contracts or start something new. When Mercury stations direct, we’re prepared to move forward in a good way.

Astrological Significance: The Moon is a reflection of our emotions. Jupiter is the planet of “good fortune” which could extend a bright outlook on the future. Mars fuels our Passions and can offer a “driving force” behind Mercury’s forward movement. Mercury is the planet of news and communication. We could receive a Light of Truth that opens the way.

Planetary Parade: 6 planets in the planetary alignment on August 28, 2024

The next planetary alignment will take place on August 28, 2024. In the early morning, six planets — Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune, and Saturn — will align in the sky. You will be able to see Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn with the naked eye, however Mercury will be closer to the horizon and harder to spot. To see Neptune and Uranus, you’ll need a telescope or high-powered binoculars. Let’s take a closer look at the conditions for observing the planets.

Yellowish Saturn (mag 0.6) will be in the sky from late evening on. It will be visible with the naked eye in the constellation Aquarius. Neptune (mag 7.8) will be located in the nearby constellation Pisces, but you’ll need high-powered binoculars to spot it. In the morning, when the other planets rise, Saturn and Neptune will move down to the western horizon.

Later at night, Uranus (mag 5.7) will rise. It will be located in the constellation Taurus, visible with high-powered binoculars.

Jupiter (mag -2.3) and Mars (mag 0.8) will rise next. The planets will be visible to the naked eye in the constellation Taurus. The waning crescent Moon will also shine nearby, providing an even more spectacular view.

At dawn, Mercury (mag 1.7) will rise. The planet will be located in the constellation Leo. It will be visible to the naked eye, however don’t wait too long to see it, as the Sun will soon rise next to it.

7 Deer/MANIK (Cherokee, Deer/Ahwu’sdi) – Day 7 of 13, 1 Crocodile/IMIX trecena

Descriptions by Ian Xel Lungold (12 Sun/AHAU), wisdom and Tzolk’in calculator preserved on MayanMajix.com

Galactic Tone 7: Reflective. Seven stands as a mirror to divide light and dark and to reflect all that is and is not. Seven is associated with the source of creation and the flow of Divine Will. With a keen sense of ethics, Seven establishes purpose to current and future goals.

Deer/MANIK (Hand): Deer are spirit tools. Silence itself is a spiritual experience for Deer. For Deer life is a pilgrimage. Deer are dominant persons who defend the people and will make sacrifices for others. The spirit of Deer upholds the pillars of the four directions. With the power inherent in the number four, Deer pushes away bad influences or negative energies. Skill and quality of work are very important to Deer. They are presented with tools for every task in life and it is with these that they are able to rise above limitations. Deer has a habit of keeping every tool it has ever used. This leads to clutter and indecision, loss and procrastination. When confronted with promises not kept, Deer becomes stubborn, manipulative and evasive.

A GOOD DAY TO: Be of Service to Others

Cherokee, Deer/Ahwu’sdi: Symbolized by Constellation Galagina, the Stag, known as Taurus, the Bull. It does not include the Pleiades and Hyades clusters which in Cherokee are viewed as separate. To feed, gatherers of food and supplies, they enjoy rituals, ceremonials, feasts, the souls of hospitality, sociability. Freedom versus security issues often inspire leadership and unique solutions.  Combined with artistic and inspiring energies in harmony with lunar cycles, they nourish the clans. Totem-Deer:  A priest or shaman, a powerful person in general, to overwhelm an individual with one’s personal power, divination; inclined to become a teacher, healer, guru, civic leader, or politician.  Ability to create harmonic resonance.
