SOLAR ECLIPSE OF A LIFETIME ON EASTER ISLAND: Oct. 2’s Annular Solar Eclipse will be the island’s first since Nov. 27, 1788, 66 years after a Dutch crew became the first Europeans to visit it on Easter Sunday. The eclipse begins at 12:24 p.m. local time; mid-eclipse occurs at 2:07 p.m. with the Sun due north at an elevation of 67°; annularity lasts 6.1 minutes. (Source: Sky&Telescope.org) The next eclipse that will be views from that location will be the Lunar Eclipse March 13-14, 2025. (Source: timeanddate.com)
Eclipses are More than a Visual Event
The effects of a Solar Eclipse are more far reaching than a time and place where the sky grows dark. The most obvious affects are birds that roost, insects that return to their burrows, and some flowers that close their petals. Meanwhile, nocturnal animals come out “for the night.” We tend to measure the event as a visual event that only lasts a few minutes. That’s far from the whole story.
The last eclipse on Easter Island was observed on an Easter Sunday. 66 years later a Solar Eclipse appears on Rosh Hashanah. Our most sacred traditions are ordered by the Signs in the Heavenly vault. The meaning of Time was discerned by a collective first-hand witness to the Time.
Some consider the “end of a cycle” forecasts as an old wives’ tale. It’s actually a scientifically-documented truth.
The Impact of Solar Eclipses on the Structure and Dynamics of Earth’s Upper Atmosphere (Source: NASA Solar System Exploration)
- Ionization Changes: In the ionosphere, solar radiation is a primary source of ionization, which the process in which an atom or molecule becomes charged when it gains or loses electrons. During a solar eclipse, the reduction in solar radiation leads to a decrease in ionization, particularly in the region of the ionosphere at an altitude around 37 to 56 miles. This decrease in ionization can cause a temporary drop in the density of electrons in the ionosphere.
- Temperature Changes: The decrease in solar radiation during an eclipse can also lead to cooling of the upper atmosphere. This cooling can affect the temperature structure of the ionosphere, potentially causing changes in ionospheric densities and altitudes.
- Electron Density Variations: The reduction in ionization and cooling during an eclipse can lead to a decrease in the electron density in the ionosphere. This can affect the propagation of radio waves, particularly in the high frequency, or HF, range, which rely on ionospheric reflection for long-distance communication.
- Ionospheric Anomalies: The sudden changes in ionospheric conditions during an eclipse can lead to the formation of ionospheric anomalies, such as ionospheric holes or depletions. These anomalies can disrupt radio signals and GPS navigation systems, affecting communication and navigation over the affected regions.
- Propagation Effects: The altered ionospheric conditions during an eclipse can change how radio waves propagate through the ionosphere. This can cause signal fading, absorption, and refraction, affecting shortwave and satellite communication systems.
Solar Eclipses interrupt the Sun’s transmission of Light and Sound vibrations. Eclipses have the polar opposite effect of the Sun’s Solar Flares. A direct communication between Sun and Earth is interrupted, if only for a few minutes. A pause. (Selah.) Silence can be the Sound of a Divine Wakeup call, when the only chatter we hear are the thoughts that were on our mind.
I suspect that no one will know what the Sun may have to say about it, until it’s over. We can wonder what lies beyond the moment. These are effects that influence the “structure and dynamics” for the whole Earth’s upper atmosphere. Meanwhile, at the Time of the Autumnal alignment, there’s a crack opened to receive the slightest breeze from the Sun and transform it into a Display of colored lights as an aurora.
Signs are always given for the future. We always expect the Sign to be the “event.” The full effect is only known in the Time that follows.
Maybe there will be something spectacular to follow, an event that standing stones would be erected to witness on Easter Island. It’s too late to make reservations. All the tours are sold out. At least we can hopefully count on lots of cameras there to share whatever comes to light.
The Elders cautioned that we should “return to our burrows” like other living things that “live in the light.” I’m beginning to agree that the animals know better than we do. It’s the after-effect that could change our future.
Jamie Carter, writer for Space.com shares the reason she’s going along with the details of what everyone is expecting to see. She includes dates and times for other destinations that will be witness to the event.
Why I’m going to Easter Island for the ‘ring of fire’ annular solar eclipse
by Jamie Carter, Space.com (2 days ago)
(FYI – The next solar eclipse visible from Easter Island after 2024 will be a “ring of fire” eclipse on February 6, 2027. This eclipse will be visible from Chile, Argentina, and Uruguay, and as a sunset “ring of fire” from Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Togo, Benin, and Nigeria.)
Mayan Time
13 Storm/CAUAC is the end of a cycle and tomorrow, 1 Sun/AHAU completes the 2nd uinal of Duality, when we will be reunited with the Light of Revelation. Time stands still until the 3rd day of the cycle guided under the direction of Sun/AHAU, the symbol of the Supreme Lord of the Universe. The first movement takes place on 2 Wind/IK, when we are moved by Divine Trinity and the Sound of a Voice that speaks from the Heart of Sky. On October 2, 4 AKBAL the Creator shares the Truth that makes all dreams possible and transforms us into the Dreamer that Believes in the Dreams shared from Above.

THE TRECENA OF DEER/MANIK: THE SERVICE OF LOVE
The Highlights, Peak Energies, and Times of Synchronicity for this trecena are included on the 13-Day Trecena Guide.
The “Tzolk’in Field Guide” is my gift to download that includes the Count of Days with the aspects for each Destiny Kin and highlights for a personal practice with each trecena. It’s designed as a companion for daily practice.
Visit the 13-Day Trecena Guide. to download a free copy. Volume 1 covers the first two seasons of the Tzolk’in, and Volume 2 covers the 3rd and 4th to the end of the Tzolk’in round.
The Deer/MANIK trecena is the 3rd trecena in the 1st Season, Volume 1. The guide includes the overview for each trecena and the aspects for every day, so you can discern the Meaning of Time as it applies to your own Time and Place. It’s interesting to calculate the major dates in your life. You might discover they happened on the same Tzolk’in date. The calendar is written within. The Order is what we are naturally inclined to do. When you keep a daily journal to track your thoughts, you’ll see history repeat itself when the same matters are on your mind on the same day of every Tzolk’in round, only on a higher scale. One time around I overcame a fear of driving through Seattle rush-hour traffic. The next time, I was overcoming my fear to make a solo pilgrimage to the Mayan ruins of Ek’ Balam.

13 Storm/CAUAC (Cherokee, Redbird/TOTSU’HWA) – Ascension, Day 13 of 1 Deer/MANIK trecena
Descriptions by Ian Xel Lungold (12 Sun/AHAU), wisdom and Tzolk’in FREE CALCULATOR on MayanMajix.com
Galactic Tone 13: Ascension. Thirteen assists us to go to the next higher step, propels us to try something new or to try again. Thirteen energy takes us over the next mountain just to see what is there. Thirteen carries the last success to the newest effort. Thirteen is a number associated with the Ascended Masters, creation, expansion, and manifestation.
Storm/Cauac: Day of the blessing of rain, giver of all life and lightening, a gift of nitrogen to Mother Earth and ozone to Father Sky. Cauac is also associated with the moon and the cycles of the moon, which are the meter of the feminine aspect of creation. The essence of Storm is the feeling of unity, security and warmth experienced in the home while the tempest of trouble rages in the world outside. Perpetually youthful, Storms exist to experience the ecstasy of freedom. They have the great capacity to both learn and teach. Their constant quest for novel experiences often leads to difficult tests and storms of emotion. Looking at these difficulties for the lessons they indeed are, will enrich our lives rather than destroy. Cauac individuals teach much through their electricity of being. Lightning energizes earth, this same energy energizes humans. Divine connections can be accessed.
A GOOD DAY TO: Count your lessons as blessings and your enemies as angels.
Cherokee, Redbird/TOTSU’HWA: Redbird’s symbol is Alcyone of the Pleiades Star in constellation Taurus. Alcyone is the Central Sun of the Universe, heart of heaven. Lightning is the visible evidence of the presence of Redbird Spirit in the Sky, daughter of the Sun Spirit, sign of Fire, Sun’s alter ego on Earth. Redbird is a feminine sign; the hand that rocks the cradle. The symbol of nurturing, the lightning nurtures and energizes, with energy for zest, curiosity, imagination, and ideas. Lightning adds spiritual force to the human by way of “lightning of the blood” of a healer, directly body to body vibration. The key to spiritual communication and access to the wisdom of the Ancestors lies in the ability to bestir the blood to speak. Sacred stones such as flint, obsidian, crystal are created by lightning striking the ground.
