THE SUN IS ABOUT TO LOSE ITS MEMORY: That’s the surprising conclusion of a new study by researchers at the University of Oulu in Finland. The team examined 180 years of the aa index (a record of geomagnetic activity stretching back to 1844) and found that after odd-numbered solar cycles, the sun forgets what happened in the past.
We’re approaching such a moment now, as Solar Cycle 25 descends from its peak.
Their research begins with the little-known “Gnevyshev-Ohl rule.” Discovered in 1948, this rule says that solar cycles come in pairs, with the odd-numbered half stronger than the even. Take a look at this historical plot of sunspot numbers.
Once you notice the Gnevyshev-Ohl rule, you can’t unsee it. With only one exception in the past 180 years (Solar Cycles 22-23), odd cycles are always stronger than evens. The current pair, Cycles 24-25, definitely follow the rule.
The study found that when an odd cycle ends, the memory is erased. Nothing in the aa record predicts how strong the next cycle will be. The sun simply starts over.
Solar Cycle 26 begins in ~2030. If this research is correct, forecasters won’t get a meaningful read on the new cycle until it is already underway, when new sunspots start writing their own detailed forecast.
Note : A Second Opinion — The Centennial Gleissberg Cycle may have something to say. This is a 90 to 100-year swell that modulates the height of solar cycles. We reported on the phenomenon in 2025. The Gleissberg tide is currently rising, suggesting that the next pair of solar cycles will be stronger than the last.

The cycle of 1 Wind/IK can change the landscape of our life. The Jewish month of Elul is preparation for the Day of Atonement, the Day the Father Forgives and Forgets. This a cycle that brings the Unknown Truth to Light in a tangible way. As we sowed, so shall we reap. Only the Father knows his Divine Time.
The New Moon, September 11, 2026 ends the lunar cycle of the “Full Ghost Moon” of Chinese tradition. The Hungry Ghosts represent the evil with an insatiable appetite for more, at the detriment of everyone else. There’s a war for the heavenlies and China is a contender with a plan to catch up to SpaceX.
The cycle of the Full Harvest Moon is a season of Redemption, Atonement, and a New Year. Wind/IK sets us off by the Word of the Lord as an Act of God. Only the Father knows the Time.
In the Jewish month of Elul, blowing the Shofar is the Call for a Return to the Father. When we answer, what follows is Forgiveness and Atonement, sealing our fate in the Book of Life for the new year ahead.

Galactic Tone 1: Unity. One is the beginning of all things, the first, the whole and the all in one. One’s are assertive and self-guided and give a good push to whatever project they are associated with. One persons work best when meeting a challenge. Do not expect One-persons to be attentive to details or to put the finishing touches on things.
Wind/IK: Breath of Spirit, breath of life. Winds embody the power of dissemination and planting of good seeds or ideas. Dreamers and planners with powerful imaginations, Wind persons make great orators and they spread the word of spiritual inspiration as it is carried by the wind. Wind is the power behind the movement of natural cycles such as weather, erosion, and cultural change. As the wind, these persons are extremely changeable and adaptable. They may appear inconsistent or fickle to others. Wind can be destructive to self and others by putting on airs. When Winds strut and boast, expanding on facts and accomplishments, they are building the dark clouds of trouble that may become hurricanes.

Cherokee, Whirlwind/AGALU’GA: Whirlwind’s symbol is a double spiral helix in rising smoke. Wind brings energy for an Inquiring mind, learning and wisdom. In Cherokee, the constellations are represented by 12 birds (dancers), the 13th bird is the Whirlwind, the lead dancer. This reflects the whirling of life. Wind is the breath of the Universe, the channel of communication that carries the Sacred Smoke to the Great Spirit.
