The Proximity of the Sun and the Moon
The Moon is receiving it’s brightest dose of Light during the Perihelion. The Sun’s closest proximity to Earth makes it the closest proximity to the Moon. Spaceweather forecasts the potential for full spectrum halos around the Moon.

A HUGE PROMINENCE ON THE SUN: If you have a solar telescope, point it at the sun’s western limb. “There’s a huge prominence on the sun today,” reports Chris Schur, who sends this picture from Payson, Arizona:
The glowing structure stands taller than 10 planet Earths and stretches more than 400,000 km along the arc of the solar disk. These dimensions make it an easy target for backyard solar telescopes. Even better–it is poised to erupt. Those long red streamers in Schur’s photo are held aloft by unstable magnetic fields. The next photo could be a blast…

Lunar coronas are caused by water droplets in clouds. When the droplets are a jumble of different sizes, they produce a straw-colored ring–an aureole. When the droplets are all of the same size they produce a rainbow-colored ring–a pure corona. Look for both tonight.
GEOMAGNETIC STORM FORECAST: Geomagnetic unrest is possible on Dec. 17th when one or more CMEs are expected to pass close to Earth. The near misses will probably fall short of sparking a full-fledged geomagnetic storm. Nevertheless, auroras could fill the Arctic Circle as the solar storm clouds pass by.

Mayan Time and Ancestral Traditions
13 Earth/CABAN is the Answer to a Prayer on Earth. On the Cold Full Moon, surviving the Winter presented questions of life and death. The Winter Solstice was a renewal of Faith in Spring, even on the Darkest Day. This trecena of Serpent/CHICCHAN was 13-days of an energy exchange delivered by the Source of Divine Illumination. This is a Day to Count our Blessings for Life on Earth, and for the Heart of Earth that uses our ashes to create a new life. Celebrate the Ascension with fond memories of Love and create memories loving Life all around in Mother Nature.
Send prayers up in smoke under the Full Moon and see which way the wind blows.

THE TRECENA OF SERPENT/CHICCHAN: AWAKENING THE GIFTS OF SPIRIT
My gift for the Tzolk’in round is the “Tzolk’in Field Guide: A Daily Practice for Personal Discernment.” Volume 1 covers the first two seasons of the Tzolk’in round. The “Field Guide” is available to download from a link on the 13-day Trecena Guide Page.
Tracking your thoughts during one 13-day trecena, you will see the synchronicity of Time, and an ascension as the answer to a prayer you hold as an Intention of thought from the beginning.
The Serpent/CHICCHAN trecena is part of Season 2, found in Volume 1.
NOTE: If you see repeating numbers, SacredScribes is a resource to check the meaning of Angel Numbers.

Descriptions by Ian Xel Lungold (12 Sun/AHAU), wisdom preserved on MayanMajix.com
Galactic Tone 13: Ascension; Thirteen assists us to go to the next higher step, propels us to try something new or to try again. Thirteen energy takes us over the next mountain just to see what is there. Thirteen carries the last success to the newest effort. Thirteen is a number associated with the Ascended Masters, creation, expansion, and manifestation.
Earth/Caban: Keeper of the garden of Earth. Profound synchronistic connections to Earth’s natural cycles and energies provide power of creations and memories of ancient wisdom. Earth persons help dispel bad intentions, habits and ideas. This makes them very good counselors and masters of all arts. Studious and intelligent, Earth persons endeavor to bring a flow of natural order to all aspects of life. Being connected to the dynamic forces of nature, Earth persons need much liberty to facilitate their expression of migration or the sending of long distance communications such as the whales, elephants, birds and many other creatures. Sometimes Earth’s delicate sensitivities are upset resulting in quakes of emotion even the display of volcanic temper.
A GOOD DAY TO: Give thanks to Mother Earth for all her gifts.
Cherokee, Heron/GUWI’SGUWI: Sign of movement, of perpetual motion, recycling, regeneration; environmentalists fighting for the underdog. Heron is mentally alert, rational, yet opinionated; has a great faith in people and in the divine plan, holding the magic of ministry, medicine, marketing and matchmaking; healing abilities, especially with crystals; negotiation and mediation energy. Heron is symbolized by Deneb, located in the Northern Cross beside the Milky Way.
