SPACEWEATHER.COM NEWS: 01/15/2025 UPDATE

SUNSET COMET ALERT: Comet ATLAS (C/2024 G3) survived its close encounter with the sun on Monday. Now it is emerging into the sunset sky. Mike Olason watched it follow the sun into the western horizon last night from Tucson, Arizona:

Comet C/2024 G3 ATLAS: Best Viewing Times

The comet reached its peak brightness on January 13, 2025, and is expected to remain visible to the naked eye for several days. To get the best view, look towards the southwestern sky just after sunset.

“The comet was very easy to see with my 50mm f/3.5 refracting telescope as soon as the sun dipped below the horizon,” says Olason. “15 minutes after sunset one could easily see the comet with 8×21 binoculars, a bright starlike coma and a nice tail in a rich orange twilight sky. Several times I caught glimpses of the comet with the naked eye, aided by knowing exactly where to look.”

What will happen next? Nick James of the British Astronomical Association speculates: “If it follows predictions, the comet’s magnitude will drop from around -2.5 now to possibly +3 or fainter in a week’s time. It is quite difficult to predict how the comet will behave after its near-death encounter with the sun, so it may be a lot brighter or fainter than our predictions. We also don’t really know how the currently spectacular tail will perform. The only way to find out is by observing it. That is what makes comets so much fun.”

Mayan Time

5 Star/LAMAT is an empowerment of the Light of the Scion, represented by the 2nd “brightest star,” Venus. This is a Day of “pure luck” when whatever we focus on as the object of our Highest Affection is multiplied to abundance. It’s a lucky day to make a wish on a falling comet. 🙂 If you can’t see it, imagine it.

Star energy multiplies the “object of our affection” to abundance.

My gift for the Tzolk’in round is the “Tzolk’in Field Guide: A Daily Practice for Personal Discernment.” Volume 1 covers the first two seasons of the Tzolk’in round. The “Field Guide” is available to download from a link on the 13-day Trecena Guide Page.

Tracking your thoughts during one 13-day trecena, you will see the synchronicity of Time, and an ascension as the answer to a prayer you hold as an Intention of thought from the beginning.

The Seed/KAN trecena is the beginning of Season 3, found in Volume 2.

Galactic Tone 5: Empowerment. At the center of the cube we find Five. Five is an intelligent, organizing force which manages communications and materials, knowledge and application. Fives are natural net workers who gather what is needed. These persons can probe directly to the core of any situation making them excellent investigators.

Star/LAMAT: Star energy is multiplication of all things to abundance. Star has been associated with the fertility of rabbits for its ability to multiply. As each sun in the sky, Star persons shine equally in all directions. This natural tendency of harmony and balance can become compulsion, motivating Star to be too agreeable and too generous, rejected gifts cause fear and resentment. When a Star believes it has been given too much, they are weakened or may even collapse. In this “Black Hole” state, Stars are prone to verbal jousting and arguing to force their point of view on everyone.

A GOOD DAY TO: Ask for Abundance in all relations.

Cherokee, Rabbit/NOQUI’SEGWA: Symbol-Venus, The Morning Star cycle of 260 days and Evening Star cycle of another 260 days, inspired the 13 numbers, 20 Day sign Sacred Calendar. Rabbit is the Trickster of Cherokee culture, matching the Coyote in other nations. The personification of Light and New Life, Sunrise, the scion (a first-generation descendant) of the Moon-Father of earth children, the Rabbit is fertility, be fruitful and multiply. Represents softness, gentleness and vulnerability. LAMAT– Totem Rabbit. Energies of re-birth, regeneration, ripening, harvest and abundance. This person is overflowing with love energy in all areas of life. Spiritual growth is natural and with ease due to the unconditional love energy that flows.
