SPACEWEATHER.COM NEWS: 03/28/2025

THE SOLAR WIND STORM IS SUBSIDING: After peaking near 800 km/s on March 27th, solar wind speeds are subsiding today to 600 km/s–still fast, but not like yesterday’s gale. The gaseous material is flowing from a giant hole in the sun’s atmosphere. Minor (G1) geomagnetic storms are possible on March 28th as the solar wind continues to blow. Aurora alerts: SMS Text.

During the peak of yesterday’s solar wind storm, Kenneith Hui captured an aurora selfie from Kálfafellsstaður, Iceland:

“Around 11 p.m. local time in Iceland, we were captivated by the swirling lights spiraling above us,” says Hui. “A brief break in our cloudy and rainy weather revealed a stunning aurora.”

SOLAR ECLIPSE ON MARCH 29TH: The New Moon is about to pass in front of the sun, almost completely covering the solar disk on March 29th. The best places to watch this partial eclipse are eastern Canada and Greenland where coverage will exceed 80%:

At maximum eclipse around 10:50 UTC, the solar disk will be transformed into a skinny crescent. Some reporters call this a “devil horn eclipse,” but the view will be heavenly. If you’re in the eclipse zone, check NASA’s web page for a city-by-city timetable of when to look. (Be sure to use safe solar filters and/or eclipse glasses.)

Longtime space weather contributor Eliot Herman is in Greenland now, and he will be sending us photos of the event. You can too! Submit your photos here. (They will be shared at the link below.)

What’s Special About this Eclipse?
The rising Sun will be an eclipse, for those located in the Eastern Time zone.

Mayan Time

Lunar eclipses are defined as “a New Moon on steroids.” Solar eclipses are Lunar eclipses on steroids. March 29, 2025 completes the Haab year. March 30, 2025 is the Beginning, after. The New Year begins on the Zenithal Sun and the 1st Light that breaks is Kinich Ahau, the brightest Light of the Sun… the face at the center of the Ollin Aztec Stone calendar that Commands God’s Divine Order by the Word, of what the Truth shall be.

The Zenithal Sun is the Day of no shadows, when nothing is hidden and the Truth is revealed in plain sight.

12 Sun/AHAU (Cherokee, Flower/GUN’TSI) – Day 12 of 13 of the 1 Offering/MULUC trecena

Ian. 12 Sun/AHAU, was conceived on 1 Offering/MULUC to complete a Divine Healing through an offering of the Truth of Time.

Descriptions by Ian Xel Lungold (12 Sun/AHAU), wisdom and Tzolk’in calculator preserved on MayanMajix.com

Galactic Tone 12: Understanding. Twelve is a gift of great capacity of retrospection. It is this ability that allows Twelve to connect disassociated parts into a (new) functioning whole. The energy of Twelve is that which presents a new piece of understood information or accumulated experience to be applied.

Sun/AHAU: Day of the ancestors and connection to their guidance. The divine face of the sun – lord, musician, singer, dancer, and marksman. Suns are artistic, heroic athletes, visionaries with wise judgment who lead and defend the people. So much is expected from themselves and by other people that unfulfilled expectations are a certainty. An accumulation of these disappointments may lead Sun to evade responsibilities, not accept corrections and even build resentment and disdain towards others. Suns should simplify their lives to be able to rise and shine with unconditional love once again.

A GOOD DAY TO: Ask for the wisdom and continued honored memory of our ancestors.

Cherokee, Flower/GUN’TSI EK: Symbol is the Sun, place of abode of Great Spirit. The Sun creates, nurtures, and is the super communicator, the way station that relays messages and energy from other stars in the galaxy; provides energy for channeling information from the Ancestors; speaking the Living Language of Light, which ignites the consciousness in others. Gold is the color of courage and opportunity of wealth. Creative arts, master craftsman expressing divinity and wisdom through their creations. The face of the flower follows the Sun gathering the fire of creativity, illuminating harmony and balance, resonating peace and continuity within the human spirit. This is the Sign of the Chalice of the Infinite, Caldron of Creation.
