Looking to the future: The Hasidic expression, “The King is in the field” [Hamelech ba’sadeh], is often used when describing the month of Elul in the Season of Harvest. Elul is a month of repentance and mercy in which there is extra closeness between God and His creations.
VISION QUEST: Expanding the Light Today for the Future
THE TRECENA OF JAGUAR/IX: A JOURNEY TO THE LIGHT
MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL

Greetings Beloved Kin,
To be, or not to be, that is the question:
~ William Shakespeare, Hamlet
The 22nd Day presents the Master Number 22, the symbol of the Power to manifest the Creation that is inspired by the Light from Above. The symbol is repeated again by Tone 2 to 222. This is the Solar Year guided by 1 Wind/IK, Destiny Kin 222 (222:222).
So is the symbol of Empowerment magnified by repeating symbols of 5. May is the 5th month, and Eagle/MEN holds Position 15, creating the symbol 5555. The Eagle shares the Vision to see the future. We hold the power to see the future when our Intentions are aligned with the Creator’s plan.
We can expand the Light of Spirit through our Intentions to share the Blessings of Spirit with every living thing that’s raised by the Light.
The indigenous elders shared the way to share the blessings of Spirit with all living things. The sacred way of “picking” remembers the sacred exchange of life energy.
The Elders guided us to a field of yarrow for the lesson on “picking.” We were told to bring an offering of sacred exchange, something of our self to leave behind. It could be a strand of hair, fingernail, or saliva. We were told to choose a plant from a big family, versus one that was growing all alone. If the plant resisted letting go easily, we were to honor its choice to hold on and move on to another. We were told to honor the family from which it came, the “home” where it was raised to belong.
The Green Beings are said to be the most sentient of living creations. They feel the dimming of the light when planets transit the Sun, just as they respond to a Solar or Lunar eclipse. They are conscious of their Source of Life, Light and Happiness.
We can apply “the picking” to the produce we choose at the grocery store. We can handle as few as possible except for the ones we choose. We can offer a blessing to all the living foods, that may otherwise be taken without the Sacred Exchange. At the celebration feast, we were taught to offer the 1st serving to Spirit on the altar. We can remember the whole crop, the hands that planted the seeds, collected the harvest, and prepared the food that was brought to the table. Human hands invested their energy for an Intention of their dreams for their life and their families. All things blessed by Spirit hold Consciousness of a Blessing of Spirit.
We can offer the Blessing on behalf of the future of the whole and imagine the bounty that could be multiplied to abundance in the next Season of Harvest.
James 5:16 KJV
16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
We can invest Faith in the Unseen Power of our Prayers to realize the Truth in the end. Pay forward a blessing you have already received. I’ll never forget the hopelessness I felt when I drove a car with 3 taped-up windows. Now I bless people with beat up cars. The world casts a shadow by outside appearances. We may never know how Spirit could lighten a load that weighs heavy on another Human heart. To be fair, we can bless people in nice cars too. We don’t know their story. I was finally able to buy a brand new car and it was the first time in more than 20 years. Let God be the judge. God honors the offering that’s given in his Name and he will balance all things in integrity knowing the True condition of the heart.
The “Spirit of Aloha” is a practice of blessing every good thing we’ve asked for our self. If you pray for strength, bless trees and tall buildings. If you pray for love, bless every happy couple you see. One of Human’s limitations is to be happy for one another when we receive a blessing. (Keep your own blessings to yourself. Exchange your Joy with the Source of all good things, lest you burden the Faith of another who is still waiting for their time to come.) The more love we invest in Spirit, the greater the reward will be that’s revealed openly in the end.
Matthew 6:6 KJV
6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
The first Adam was born in the Garden of Eden. We all lost the Light when we disobeyed by taking, when the author of lies deceived us into thinking it “wasn’t enough.” We were intended to live in Paradise. We can spread the Light of a Dream to co-create Heaven on Earth, as it was in the beginning. We can Wait on the Lord to See when the Fruit of Spirit is multiplied in the next season of Harvest, when the King is in the Field. Every Divine Seed we sow, so shall we reap.
Luke 6:38 KJV
38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
Blessings are doubled in the 2025 Year of Jubilee (written as the prophecy of Isaiah, Chapter 61).

Lectionary: 288
[Excerpt] Reading 1, Acts 15:7-21
After much debate had taken place,
Peter got up and said to the Apostles and the presbyters,
“My brothers, you are well aware that from early days
God made his choice among you that through my mouth
the Gentiles would hear the word of the Gospel and believe.
And God, who knows the heart,
bore witness by granting them the Holy Spirit
just as he did us.
Gospel, John 15:9-11
Jesus said to his disciples:
“As the Father loves me, so I also love you.
Remain in my love.
If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love,
just as I have kept my Father’s commandments
and remain in his love.
“I have told you this so that
my joy might be in you and
your joy might be complete.”
BLESS THE LORD, OH MY SOUL! PRAISE HIS HOLY NAME.
Psalm 103 – Song of David
1 Praise the Lord, my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
2 Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits—
3 who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
5 who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
love, in lak’ech, “i am another you”

UPDATE: The Fledge Watch of the eaglets in Big Bear Valley
The eaglets could very well take off in the trecena of Jaguar/IX. They are learning to grasp in their final effort of “branching.” They are exercising their wings and lifting off in the nest. Sonny, the daring one, was hanging out with Mom beyond the guardrails on the front porch. He jumped back in the nest to play pickup sticks with Gizmo and helped groom his feathers. That’s where he spent the night.

Galactic Tone 2: Mysterious as the question ‘to be or not to be?” Two is the recognition of the separation of self from all else and the desire to be rejoined. Walking a balance while making choices of all kinds, light/dark, male/female, good/bad, Yin/Yang, is the energy of this number. Experiencing the differences between one and another is the use and purpose of this number.
Eagle/MEN: Intermediary between Heaven and Earth. Due to the Eagles superior point of view and keen intelligence, they achieve material abundance and good fortune. A messenger gifted with patience and a deep sense of value, Eagle brings hope and trust on the wings of Spirit. Eagle persons are very detail oriented and technically inclined. Compassionate service to others sustains prosperity for Eagle personas as the flapping of wings would sustain their bird brothers. If Eagle becomes viciously competitive or possessive, greed and jealousy cause a fall from the heights. Eagles, being blessed with freedom of movement, should be aware of escapism. Eagles may be tempted to just fly away from troubles by using indulgences.
A GOOD DAY TO: Rise to a Higher Perspective
Cherokee, Eagle/UWO’HATLI: Eagle’s symbol is Mars the Spirit Warrior. He is a minion of Grandfather Moon. Eagles were the warrior society, the braves the protectors of the nation. Women were included. There was no discrimination which is reflected in the language: third person singular is divided into animate, human and animate, not human instead of he and she. The energy of high hopes and anticipations, dreams and visions, cosmic consciousness and commitment. On earth, a provider of excellence, leader, husbandry, care-taking of others, financial security and inheritance.
[Text in italics was the primary source of inspiration for my journal. These are the sources that started my journey and they are the reference for interpretation each day. By providing the original text, I hope to offer a way to see what inspired my thoughts and by including all the aspects – allow for something more to inspire you. Mayan descriptions are those written by Ian Lungold. Cherokee descriptions came from multiple sources.
