SET YOUR ALARM FOR DAWN: Venus and Jupiter are converging in the eastern dawn sky for a spectacular conjunction. At closest approach on Aug. 11-13, the two planets will shine like a bright double star–easy to see even from brightly-lit cities.
At daybreak on Aug. 8th, Georg Klingersberger of Kobernaußen, Austria, photographed the pair just above the waxing twilight.
As a bonus, the Perseid meteor shower peaks at the same time, so you might catch a bright fireball, too. Set your alarm and step outside before sunrise. This is worth waking up for! Sky maps: Aug. 11, 12, 13.

DETAILS: Venus and Jupiter are closing rapidly in preparation for their conjunction on August 12. Venus is approaching the magnitude 5.3 star 36 Geminorum (which is will pass about 9 hours after the time of this picture) and shines at magnitude -3.98, while Jupiter shines at magnitude -1.96; they are now separated by only 2°02’45”. Even without seeing the line of the ecliptic in the sky, it is beginning to become apparent that Venus will pass well to the south of Jupiter when they experience their conjunction on the 12th. Mayan Calendar Time and Synchronicity
Venus and Jupiter are coming into union just as the Lion’s Gate is closing. Earth has been in alignment to receive the most Light of the Universe in the position of Aphelion, it’s farthest distance from the Sun. In the Lion’s Gate, Earth stands to receive the most Light. We have a broader view of the Big Picture.
The Lion’s Gate Portal in 2025 opened on 07/26, peaked on 08/08, and closes on 08/12. Energetically, this is a powerful time of incoming Light for manifestation, spiritual growth, and transformation. Today, 4 Eagle/MEN is a Holy Day on the Tzolk’in Human calendar – a Global Burner Day, a release of energy for the Intention of Stability through Closure. Venus and Jupiter are symbolic of a Reconciliation of our Wants and Needs. Venus represents a desire for Love and Beauty and Jupiter, for Good Luck.
We don’t question the feeling that comes over us in the company of someone we Love. 8 is a Mayan symbol of Justice. God Loved us first. When we Love back, we are promised Atonement – the Redemption of Seeing our Self through the Eyes of Divine Beholder. Through waves of Energy and Light, God can reach us through all our senses.
Today, we can set the rules for Stability. We can Look to See, and Ask to Know.
We have 2 more Days to Dwell in the Light to set our course in the future. August 12 is 6 Earth/CABAN, a symbol of Balance and Movement like an earthquake between Heaven and Earth. CABAN represent the Vibration of Energy that begins every Great Migration on Earth.

Galactic Tone 4: Stability; the cube is most stable of all forms and establishes volume by definition of height, length, depth and breadth; 4 directions establish orientation. The energy of 4 sets the parameters, which establish the freedoms and barriers needed to create a game, work, or relationship.
Eagle/MEN: Intermediary between Heaven and Earth. Due to the Eagles superior point of view and keen intelligence, they achieve material abundance and good fortune. A messenger gifted with patience and a deep sense of value, Eagle brings hope and trust on the wings of Spirit. Eagle persons are very detail oriented and technically inclined. Compassionate service to others sustains prosperity for Eagle personas as the flapping of wings would sustain their bird brothers. If Eagle becomes viciously competitive or possessive, greed and jealousy cause a fall from the heights. Eagles, being blessed with freedom of movement, should be aware of escapism. Eagles may be tempted to just fly away from troubles by using indulgences.

Cherokee, Eagle/UWO’HATLI: Symbol is Mars the Spirit Warrior. He is a minion of Grandfather Moon (ie. the Divine Masculine aspect of the Divine Feminine Moon). Eagles were the warrior society, the braves the protectors of the nation. Women were included. There was no discrimination which is reflected in the language: third person singular is divided into animate, human and animate, not human instead of he and she. The energy of high hopes and anticipations, dreams and visions, cosmic consciousness and commitment. On earth a provider of excellence, leader, husbandry, care-taking of others, financial security and inheritance. Totem-Eagle. Powerful energy for success in worldly affairs, due to far seeing vision. Ability to create masses of money and abundance through an intellectual type of profession. Eagle asks for what he desires and manifests it. Professor, lawyer, teacher, leader.
