An Active Inner Solar System

SPACEWEATHER.COM NEWS: 10/05/2026

DON’T FORGET COMET LEMMON: With so much attention on interstellar Comet 3I/ATLAS, it is easy to forget a local comet brightening so rapidly that ordinary sky watchers will soon be able to see it with their own eyes: Comet Lemmon (C/2025 A6). It is falling toward the sun for a close encounter near the orbit of Mercury on Nov. 8th.

Not only is this comet bright, but also it is remarkably active. In recent nights, amateur astronomers have watched dozens of gaseous knots and filaments billowing down Lemmon’s tail. Here’s a freeze-frame on Oct. 5th from Italian astronomer Rolando Ligustri.

The light curve of Comet Lemmon shows that it is about to cross the threshold (m=+6) of naked-eye visibility:

“I think we can now be reasonably confident that this will be a very nice evening object when it is at its brightest around New Moon in late October,” says James.

The ever-changing structure in the comet’s tail is a likely result of two factors: Buffeting by the solar wind and dynamic jets in the comet’s core.

Finding Comet Lemmon is easy. It’s in the constellation Ursa Major (the Big Dipper) near the 3rd magnitude star mu Ursa Majoris. For most observers in the northern hemisphere, it is located well above the eastern horizon before sunrise.

INCOMING: 2 SLOW-MOVING CMES Updated models from NOAA suggest that *two* CMEs are approaching Earth. Both are relatively slow moving, and normally their impact would barely be felt. However, because of the equinox Russell-McPherron effect, their combined impact on Oct. 7-8 could spark a G1-class geomagnetic storm.

Mayan Calendar Time and Synchronicity

8 Monkey/CHUEN is the Zenith hour of Light. In Position 11, CHUEN represents the Source and Substance of Divine Inspiration. The New Year of Human’s calendar is also the Initiation Day for Mayan Daykeepers. It’s a Day for a commitment to a dedicated daily practice in Divine Trinity with those who Count the Days and carry out the sacred rituals and prayers on behalf of the whole.

Monkey/CHUEN relates to the Gifts of Consciousness and Divine Discernment, the Spiritual Gifts for Creation. We hold the power to manifest every Creation that aligns with God’s Highest Purpose. We’re inspired by Love to manifest the Beauty of Life. God will complete what we begin in Divine Trinity. Tomorrow we begin a New Journey surrounded by the Lights of the All-in-One.

REMEMBER to ASK. Where two or more are gathered the power of our prayers is magnified. This is a day to join in Divine Trinity. Give Thanks for the in-dwelling Light that leads a new way.

The “Tzolk’in Field Guide” is my gift to download that includes the Count of Days with the aspects for each Destiny Kin and highlights for a personal practice with each trecena. It’s designed as a companion for daily practice.

8 Monkey/CHUEN (Cherokee, Raccoon/KVH’LI) – Day 8  of 13 of the 1 Seed/KAN trecena

Descriptions by Ian Xel Lungold (12 Sun/AHAU), wisdom and Free Calculator preserved on MayanMajix.com

Galactic Tone 8:  Justice. Harmony and balance are the intent of Eights carefully weighs all evidence to reach a balance of justice. Eight is the power of organization demonstrated in the statement ‘as above, so below,’ from simplicity to infinity, the energy of eight organizes all levels of creation, some eights are ‘neat freaks.’

Monkey/CHUEN: Monkey is known to the Maya as the Weaver or Weaver of Time. Monkey takes ideas as threads of vines and weaves them into the fabric of our reality. New patterns or inventions are also woven into our lives by Monkey. Amiable, intelligent, generous and a jack of all trades, Monkey’s innocent curiosity leads to artistic expression and constructive solutions. Many Monkeys become highly respected merchants or speakers. They love performing practical jokes and crave attention, so much so that they may over-act or play the fool to get the spotlight. Monkeys have a short attention span and find it difficult to stay with anything long enough to master it.

A GOOD DAY TO: Begin anything new in your life.

Cherokee, Raccoon/KVH’LI: Star Symbol: Algol, a star in Perseus. Restless energy yearning for long-lost love. Algol was named DEMON STAR or MISCHIEVOUS ONE by the Ancients because it winks and fades at times. Raccoons are full of friendly mischief, eager to swap kisses for candy; magnetic leaders, full of humor and gaiety. Favorite food is corn, the mainstay of the Cherokee. Very artistic while being the “masked bandit” who steals your heart.

[Text in italics was the primary source of inspiration for my journal. These are the sources that started my journey and they are the reference for interpretation each day. By providing the original text, I hope to offer a way to see what inspired my thoughts and by including all the aspects – allow for something more to inspire you. Mayan descriptions are those written by Ian Lungold. Cherokee descriptions came from multiple sources.
