SPACEWEATHER: M4-Class Solar from Sunspot 4317; and Colors of Vega

More Than What Appears To Be

SPACEWEATHER.COM NEWS 12/29/2025

EARTH-DIRECTED SOLAR FLARE AND CME: Sunspot 4317 was not considered to be a threat for flares–but it erupted anyway. On Dec. 28th (2239 UTC), the sunspot produced an M4-class solar flare shown here in a movie from NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory.

First-look images from NOAA’s CCOR-1 coronagraph onboard GOES-19 indicate that the explosion hurled a CME into space. A preliminary model from NASA suggests it has an Earth-directed component. If so, it could reach our planet on Jan. 1st, potentially sparking the first auroras of the New Year.

Stay tuned for an updated forecast after more coronagraph data are added to the model.

AIR TRAVEL: The Potential Effects of Major CME’s

AIRCRAFT TRACKING DISRUPTED: A new study published in Space Weather suggests that flying during an extreme geomagnetic storm may not be a great idea. During the historic storms of May 10-13, 2024, disturbances in Earth’s ionosphere disrupted European aircraft tracking systems. Analyzing more than 700 million ADS-B messages from over 18,000 aircraft, researchers found a clear increase in data gaps and sudden position “jumps,” with some planes briefly appearing hundreds of kilometers from their true locations. THE COLORS OF VEGA: Astronomers have long known that Vega is a blue-white star. Yet when Paolo Bardelli looked at it yesterday from Sumirago (Varese), Italy, he saw many other colors as well:

“On Dec. 28th, I saw a light flashing low on the horizon and thought it was the usual plane, but in reality it was Vega, in a kaleidoscope of colors,” says Bardelli. “I decided to document the phenomenon, allowing the star to drift across the field of view of my Canon 6D for 4 seconds. The resulting streak was stretched vertically with Photoshop without affecting the vividness or color saturation. Wow!”

Astronomers call this phenomenon “scintillation.” It is caused by thermal irregularities in Earth’s atmosphere. As packets of relatively warm and cool air drift in front of a star, the star’s light is refracted into rainbow colors–especially near the horizon where starlight must pass through many turbulent irregularities to reach the observer.

Step outside this evening and look for Vega setting near the northwestern horizon. The lower it gets, the more it scintillates. Enjoy the show!

SKY AND TELESCOPE: Vega, the Star at the Center of Everything

Article: Sky & Telescope
Vega (Lyrae) is the brightest star in the constellation Lyra and the fifth-brightest in the night sky, located just 25 light-years from Earth. A prominent blue-white A-type main-sequence star, it is part of the “Summer Triangle” and is roughly twice the mass of the Sun. Vega rotates rapidly, completing a rotation in ~16 hours, and was historically used as a calibration standard for stellar brightness.

“For centuries it had been known as Wega and spoken as WE-guh, which means descending eagle in Arabic. Later, the W evolved into a V, but the pronunciation remained the same: VEE-guh.”

Mayan Calendar Time and Synchronicity

2 Wisdom/CIB presents a Choice to be or not to be. Signs above remind us things are not always what they appear to be. The Truth is worth knowing, even if it leaves us wondering where we are (scrambled GPS). There’s a war raging in the heavenlies, as evil seeks the New Light of our Soul. It’s the Best Time for Travel – within.

Statistics prove that most accidents happen close to home. Now is not the time to lay down our armor. First, we look to clearly see “what it is”. Tomorrow, Earth/CABAN can present Truth with the Force of an Earthquake. Over centuries, the Maya recorded their experience of the Day and conceived circles of Time when history repeated itself. The wolves still howl at the first Moon of the New Year.

Vega shows its True Colors

“The variation of colors – the phenomenon of “scintillation” is caused by thermal irregularities.”

We’re running hot and cold based on whatever way the Wind blows. Don’t be caught off guard by unexpected eruptions. Tomorrow, Earth/CABAN represents Powers of Nature and Truth that can shake our world, at the extreme, on the scale of an earthquake.

Hang on to your Self. An old life doesn’t want to let go. We have to let go of an attachment to Human Understanding. Only God knows.

In the Trinity of Vega, a descending Eagle is top and center. Vega is positioned as the “high note” on the Lyre. Right-below is Altair, the Eye of the Eagle, “Aquilla” focused on the Swan, the Wings that cover the “Northern Cross”. Mars and Venus just crossed behind in the Sun’s shadow. (RARE DOUBLE SOLAR CONJUNCTION, Spaceweather Report, Dec 27, 2025.)

We’re surrounded by Eagles and the Wings of Spirit. Our GPS may be disrupted, but Solar Power will be restored by Solar Winds on January 1, 2026.

The Sevenfold Gifts of Spirit
Fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom. When we start there, God pours out the Light of the Sevenfold Spirit. We’ll be “Gifted” to walk the narrow road.

Galactic Tone 2: Mysterious as the question ‘to be or not to be?” Two is the recognition of the separation of self from all else and the desire to be rejoined. Walking a balance while making choices of all kinds, light/dark, male/female, good/bad, Yin/Yang, is the energy of this number. Experiencing the differences between one and another is the use and purpose of this number.

Wisdom/CIB: The old ones. Wisdom of the ancients. Wisdom persons are aligned with the ancient memories that wait in the stone of temples and sacred sites all over the world. Wisdom people grow luck like a crop using a balance of prudence and tenacity. The tremendous inner strength of this sign enables silent introspection to discover areas of oneself that contain wisdom more valuable than any trove of archaeological treasure. Wisdom persons are valiant defenders of family and community. They may become hardened to life and sentiment turned cold. In these cases, they need much forgiveness for their uncaring errors. Periodically connecting with nature and or visiting sacred sites will bring great stability to wisdom persons.

A GOOD DAY TO: Sit on a rock.

Cherokee, Owl U’GUKU’  O’JJ: Symbol is the Owl is Arcturus, the brightest Star in the Constellation Bootes. The Cherokee Bear constellation (Ursa Major) includes the Big Dipper plus four stars in Bootes.  Owl is a hunter, who stands for the wisdom and ability of all great hunters, the cunning of a fox, the tenacity of a bulldog and strength of a bear. Energy for deep thinkers, strong-willed, rigid convictions, bold and authoritative.  Owl is the Mystic Ferryman who guides Earthlings on the return path to the stars holding the torch aloft.
