Southern Auroras and Multiplying Sources of Light

AURORAS INSIDE THE SOUTH ATLANTIC ANOMALY: Many unusual things happened during this week’s severe geomagnetic storm. Mark this as one of the most unusual. “We saw auroras inside the South Atlantic Anomaly,” reports Egon Filter, who sends this picture from Cambará do Sul, Brazil (latitude +29 S):
“We were looking south on Jan. 19th when this strange purple band appeared,” says Filter. “At the time, the planetary K-index was 7.6.”
The South Atlantic Anomaly is a weak spot in Earth’s magnetic field centered on Brazil. There, the planet’s protective magnetic shield is thinner than elsewhere, allowing energetic particles from the inner Van Allen radiation belt to dip unusually close to Earth.
You might suppose that auroras would be strong in the South Atlantic Anomaly because solar storms can penetrate Earth’s defenses there. In fact, the opposite is true. Multiple studies show that auroras are relatively weak in the Anomaly.
Why? It’s a bit of a mystery. One idea holds that weak and disorganized magnetic fields in the Anomaly do a poor job focusing and accelerating solar wind particles. Instead of forming bright, narrow curtains of light, the incoming particles spread out and produce only faint, diffuse glows.
The lights Filter saw might have been a different phenomenon–an SAR arc. SAR arcs are red bands that appear during some geomagnetic storms when Earth’s ring current system leaks heat energy into the upper atmosphere. Research suggests that SAR arcs should be suppressed inside the Anomaly for much the same reasons that auroras are suppressed, but the jury is still out.

Another sighting? Responding to this story, George Preoteasa recalls seeing red auroras (or perhaps a mixture of airglow and auroras) on May 10, 2024, from San Pedro de Atacama, Chile, which is also under the South Atlantic Anomaly. Watch his movie.
THE SUNSPOT NUMBER IS HIGH: There are currently 12 sunspot groups on the solar disk, including sunspot 4341, which produced a powerful X2-class solar flare earlier this week. More flares are likely this weekend, probably of classification M.

1 IMIX represents “The Beginning” of the new Seed of our Life and the New Life that was born when we “first saw the Light.” The wisdom for the Day is to take the Time we need to learn everything we’re capable to do. Don’t leap forward for a little dream you could create in your sleep. Wait for a Big Dream that will follow, one you will love with all your heart.
This is the last “little winter” before Spring. What looks like clear sailing now, could be stirred up by the weather. Jackie and Shadow have been preparing since November for the new life they will create in their nest. They’ve made some home improvements from what they learned last year. Everything is prepared for the New Life to begin. Jackie is trying out her beautiful new nest. Yet they don’t decide to begin on their own. They anticipate and wait for the Call of Nature.

The first exercise that was offered by Jose Jaramillo, the Mayan priest who shared the Mayan wisdom for my beginning, was to create our own Tzolk’in chart, by filling in the blanks for each of the 260-days. It’s surprising what you learn from a sequence of numbers by row, and from the Order of the Day signs. There’s an empty chart offered on the Daykeeper Resource Page. There’s a power of momentum that’s palpable when repeat ways that have been carried out over hundreds of years. Divine Inspiration comes to us while repeat the steps in unity.

Galactic Tone 1: Unity. The beginning of all things, the first and the whole, the all of one, assertive and self guided these persons give a good push to whatever project they are associated. One persons work best when meeting a challenge. Do not expect one person’s to be attentive to details or put the finishing touches on things.
Crocodile/IMIX: Crocodile receives messages of primal creative force; simply the beginning of all things. Crocodiles who follow their hearts are seen as genius. There is no order to the primal messages, so Crocodile persons should direct their energies toward practical and cooperative efforts to bring productive results. Crocodiles have a strong nurturing energy and will work hard to provide security to family and friends. Being extremely territorial, Crocodiles must watch not to be over protective or too dominating. While in these states, Crocodiles are insecure, indecisive and emotionally volatile.

Creation energy, connection for visions to learn the mysteries of the Universal knowledge. The dragon carries the source energy of life, revered in ancient cultures for power and wisdom.
