FAST-EVOLVING ACTIVE SUNSPOT: Yesterday, this sunspot was barely detectable. “Today, it is the biggest sunspot group on the Earthside of the sun,” reports Maximilian-Vlad Teodorescu, who photographed the growing ring from the Institute of Space Science, Romania:
“What an evolution,” he says. “This might be the trigger for some nice Earth-directed flares.”
Indeed, the active region emitted an M2.5-flare this morning, breaking a week of very low flare activity. Stay tuned for more.
Photo Details: Yesterday, sunspot 4493 was barely detectable, today it is the biggest sunspot group on the Earth-directed side of the Sun. What an evolution. This might as well be the trigger for some nice flares, Earth directed. 200 mm solar Newton. Continuum filter. (Sunspot 4493 is just emerging from the farside, following 4492 that first appeared yesterday.)
STARSHIP 13 LAUNCH–DELAYED: SpaceX’s launch of Starship13 has just been postponed from today to Thursday, July 23rd (6:45pm EDT). Blasting off from the Texas Starbase, Starship will deploy 20 production Starlink V3 satellites for the first time. These are super-Starlink satellites 10x more capable than previous models, so massive that they need Starship to launch them. Ironically, the satellites will disintegrate ~40 minutes after the launch of this suborbital flight. It’s just a test. On Thursday, watch the launch video here.
“This is an alpha Capricornid meteor,” says Lucena. “It appeared all of a sudden above the hills near my home.”
Alpha Capricornid meteors are debris from Comet 169P/NEAT. They appear every year in July with peak rates of 5 to 9 meteors per hour. Many “alpha Caps” are slow, bright fireballs like Lucena saw.

Galactic Tone 10: Manifestation. What were once intentions or ideas, hopes or fears become physically present with the energy of Ten. What is focused upon with attention and intention becomes real with Ten. Ten is a powerful energy that carries a great responsibility.
Storm/Cauac: Day of the blessing of rain, giver of all life and lightening, a gift of nitrogen to Mother Earth and ozone to Father Sky. Cauac is also associated with the moon and the cycles of the moon, which are the meter of the feminine aspect of creation. The essence of Storm is the feeling of unity, security and warmth experienced in the home while the tempest of trouble rages in the world outside. Perpetually youthful, Storms exist to experience the ecstasy of freedom. They have the great capacity to both learn and teach. Their constant quest for novel experiences often leads to difficult tests and storms of emotion. Looking at these difficulties for the lessons they indeed are, will enrich our lives rather than destroy. Cauac individuals teach much through their electricity of being. Lightning energizes earth, this same energy energizes humans. Divine connections can be accessed.

Cherokee, Redbird/TOTSU’HWA: Redbird’s symbol is Alcyone of the Pleiades Star in constellation Taurus. Alcyone is the Central Sun of the Universe, heart of heaven. The Redbird is the Sign of Lightning Energy in the sky. Lightning adds spiritual force to the human by way of “lightning of the blood”. Lightning travels through the Hands that make direct contact as a healer.
Birds are designed with a brood patch to keep their eggs warm. During the breeding season, hormones trigger feather loss and increased blood flow to the skin on the bird’s breast and lower abdomen. This warm, featherless “hot pad” makes direct contact with the eggs, ensuring an ideal temperature for the embryos to develop.
