FILAMENT ERUPTIONS AND CMEs: Today, at least three magnetic fiements have erupted around the solar disk. This movie from NOAA’s GOES-19 satellite shows the two main events:
These eruptions hurled CMEs into space. One of them certainly has an Earth-directed component. Stay tuned for updates as new coronagraph images improve the forecast models.
CHANCE OF MINOR STORMS TODAY: Earth is passing through the wake of a CME that passed nearby on Aug. 7th. This is causing geomagnetic unrest with a chance of G1-class geomagnetic storms with auroras on Aug. 8th.
AND SO IT BEGINS (AURORA SEASON): Around the Arctic Circle, sky watchers have gone months without auroras. Northern Lights are hard to see in round-the-clock summer twilight. Now, they’re back. Todd Salat sends this picture from Glennallen, Alaska:

“While photographing noctilucent clouds at 2:40 am on August 7, 2026, a green aurora band appeared,” says Salat. “These are the first ‘lights’ I’ve spotted this season as darkness slowly falls across the northland. Aurora, game on!”
The display was caused by a minor CME that passed by Earth on Aug. 7th. South-pointing magnetic fields in the CME’s wake connected to Earth’s magnetosphere, linking the solar storm to our planet. Stay tuned for more as autumn darkness approaches.

Galactic Tone 3: Action. Three is basic movement and communication, which begins as a vibration. Three energy is very eloquent in all types of self-expression. Communication is how Three establishes a point of agreement between any point “A” and any point “B”. Three persons are rhythmic to the core and are often restless, as motion is their nature. By working closely with the energy of Three, any person becomes more able to predict motions of all kinds.
Flint/ETZNAB: Mirror of reality. As a struck flint, these persons are the divine sparks of intelligence. Flint’s innate abilities are utilized to discriminate emotions from fact. Flint persons stand tireless to protect, defend, or cure others by personal sacrifice. By courageously wielding the sword of truth, falsehoods are cut away. Flints, it was said, can receive information on inter-personal troubles or evil plots of others by reflecting in an obsidian mirror. Their valiant service as warriors of the truth must be impeccable or they will experience sufferings of accidents, misunderstandings and gossip.
A GOOD DAY TO: Spent Time in Reflection and Introspection
Cherokee, Flint/DAWI’SGALA: Flint’s symbol is Chawa’ or Castor of the Castor and Pollux Twins in Gemini. Castor appears in the evening personifying darkness. Pollux then appears in the east at dawn to end the night. Totem is a Flint Knife. Flint spirit shone a light like the sun and gave the people the Sacred Venus Calendar, fixed the days and promised to watch over the earthlings. A flint person endeavors to keep that covenant. Opener of the Way, a creator, innovator, stretches the mind to outside limits of capabilities. Changes the static to the dynamic. Brings about change, often through separation and destruction. Beams the Stellar Ray of Truth to Earth as a crystal sword cast down along the path of a lightning flash. The transformer brings things to a head and wipes the slate clean.
