13 Wind / IK – Ascension

MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL

13 Wind / IK

13 Wind / IK

Greetings Kin,

Life begins with the in-breath of Spirit and upon the final out-breath, ends with the Spirit’s ascension from the body. Together, Tone 13 and Wind/IK illustrate the full circle of life and connects us through all the days in-between. Wind carries the voice of our Creator and is capable to draw our attention to the present moment. We may experience a new sense of ourselves. We see ourselves destined for Greater Things.

Wink/IK brings the Breath of Spirit and Life to effect a New Awakening and to bring to life a new Personification of Love in the World.  At Galactic Tone 13, we stand on Higher Ground with a whole New Horizon of Possibilities. We are reborn with new Life, new Inspiration, new Love and Power. All we need now is a Dream.

We are about to enter the trecena of Night/AKBAL, the place of the Unknown where All Things are possible. A new Expression of our Love is about to be born as Divine Guidance from “the beyond” helps us fire the seeds of a new inspiration.

Today is a day to acknowledge and celebrate our accomplishments. Our Ascension means that we have been reborn by a new Truth that is now our own. Like a rite of passage, we can celebrate all the work we invested to reach this new horizon and the new possibilities made possible by our effort.

To all my relations, may we be grateful for the Wisdom of Love gifted to us by the Creator, and to the Ancient Ancestors who preserved this wisdom. May we feel the Caress of the Wind that breathes New Life and Spirit, and carries our prayers to the Great Spirit.

in lak’ech, i am another you

Galactic Tone 13: Ascension; Thirteen assists us to go to the next higher step, propels us to try something new or to try again. Thirteen energy takes us over the next mountain just to see what is there. Thirteen carries the last success to the newest effort. Thirteen is a number associated with the Ascended Masters, creation, expansion, and manifestation.

Wind/IK: Breath of spirit, breath of life. Winds embody the power of dissemination and planting of good seeds or ideas. They are dreamers and planners with powerful imaginations. Wind persons make great orators and they spread the word of spiritual inspiration as if carried by the wind. Wind is the power behind the movement of natural cycles such as weather, erosion, and cultural change. As the wind, these persons are extremely changeable and adaptable. They may appear inconsistent and fickle to others. Wind can be destructive to self and others by put on airs. When wind strut and boast, expanding on facts and accomplishments, they are building the dark clouds of trouble that may become hurricanes.

Cherokee, Whirlwind Agalu’ga: The Cherokee symbol of the whirlwind is a double spiral helix in rising smoke and related to the direction of the North. In Cherokee, the constellations are represented by 12 birds (dancers) and the 13th bird is the Whirlwind, the lead dancer.

NEW DAY KEEPERS: My sacred intention for the new Tzolk’in round is to offer more personal support to those who may want to learn more about ways to draw personal meaning from the calendar. I will be offering an Introductory Guided Course for Day Keepers in the near future. Contact me if this is something you would be interested in! Also, if you’d just like help identifying your Day Sign, I’m more than happy to help. Blessings, in lak’ech Debra (debra.malmos@gmail.com)

  1. Ohhhhhhhhh, Ohhhhhhhhh, Ohhhhhhhh, Ohhhhhhhh(the chant for North, the direction of the day) Eeeeeeeeeek(Ik), Eeeeeeeeek(Ik), Eeeeeeeee(Ik)……There are few things in Life that are as luscious as the sensation of a gentle, loving breeze lightly brushing across My skin; the way it swirls through and plays with the hairs on My body leaving a path of bliss-bumps in its wake; and the feelings of being transported to ever new heights of bliss, rapture, and ecstasy!

As our Earthly wind carries the oxygen we need to breath, it also carries with it life force energies of neutrinos and photons(and waves and particles yet discovered) brought to us by Solar and Galactic Winds. To Me the Breath of Life and the Breath of Spirit are One and operate in unison with one another.

There are so many English words that are related to, derived from and imbued with significance from words associated with breathing: Respiration – Ventilation ; Inhalation – Inspiration ; Exhalation – Aspiration ; and of course Expiration ; and maybe some I haven’t thought of.

The Breath of Life!!! God I love to breathe!!!! The way it feels as it courses through My entire body is so exhilarating; that feeling of expansion as it flows through the sinus cavity and energizes the brain and glands is so empowering. Today I especially I give thanks for fresh, clean air.

    • FYI – The Ohhhh chant is a wonderful way to call in the ancestors, and Eeeee is also a chant to the West, that brings healing energy to earth walk. Both beautiful ways to use the sacred breath. And Wind is voice of God – so one might stop and reflect on what they were thinking or feeling, when the breeze comes by. in lak’ech, and thank you again. Debra

  2. I appreciate Your Mayan New Year post with all those chants for directions and day signs. I chant them everyday now along with visualizing the actual Mayan Tone and Day Sign as I chant. It provides Me with another dimension to following the energy of the Tzolkin. Thank You!

    • Thank you – the chants are an awesome way to connect with vibration through the tone. When I was having an especially hard time connecting years ago and I turned to my teacher for medicine help.. she said, have you been chanting? REALLY? I wanted major juju and i’d known about chanting for so long – one of the first things taught. So, when I was desperate enough to use it on a daily basis, was a turning point for my spiritual path. I could still turn to it more often than I do. in lak’ech, Debra We all help one another remember.
