MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
The most important energy of Storm/CAUAC is the Sanctuary of Home. This concept of Home is a center of perfect safety that offers protection from the chaos of the world, and represents the place where we feel Nurtured and Loved Unconditionally. When we return to this place, we can let down our guard and with no need for defense, be exactly as we are.
That’s an unrealistic comparison to what we might encounter in the real world, where we rely on Human Nature. But, God created a Way to find this place, within. We are given a perpetual source for connection to our Divine Creator who is the perfect giver of Unconditional Love, and given the Spiritual Senses to experience this Love. All you have to do is turn to Spirit and honestly express the Love you need.
Tone 4 brings stability for the new Spiritual Growth ahead. Storm/CAUAC calls us to our Center and prepares us through the Forces of Regeneration. Existing in the Center in Oneness with our own Being, we can experience the Ecstasy of “Freedom like the Storm” with no threat of harm. The Creator’s intention was for us to become the authentic version of who we are. When our Sacred Intentions are so aligned, we are carrying out God’s most important purpose in our lives.
Storm is the Day Sign of lightening and thunder that can shake us to the core and blow the dead leaves from our branches. CAUAC brings the gift of Nitrogen that nourishes us to grow. There may be some initial damage, but like pruning, the process serves to make us more stable and resilient.
Storm/CAUAC offers dramatic evidence of unseen forces that flow through and around us, igniting us with “lightening in the blood” to awaken our Spiritual Senses. We are energized by the direct transfer of life force. Representing the Direction of the West, Storm is about our walk on the hard road of life and is a sign that engages our emotions.
Tone 4 of stability asks us to look at what is needed. We are anchoring a foundation for the growth ahead. We are asked to consider where we may misplace our dependence on forces or opinions outside of ourselves, when Home should be our True North. From Home there is no threat in asking for what we need from Spirit. Our prayers are always answered when we leave the Way to God.
To all my relations, may we be encouraged that unseen forces are working on our behalf to empower us through the process of regeneration, and preparing us for the dynamic changes that lie ahead. May we give thanks for our Home that we always carry with us, no matter where we go.

4 Storm/CAUAC (Cherokee, Redbird/TOTSU’HWA)
Galactic Tone 4: Stability; the cube is most stable of all forms and establishes volume by definition of height, length, depth and breadth; 4 directions establish orientation. The energy of 4 sets the parameters, which establish the freedoms and barriers needed to create a game, work, or relationship.
Storm/Cauac: Day of the blessing of rain, giver of all life and lightening, a gift of nitrogen to Mother Earth and ozone to Father Sky. Cauac is also associated with the moon and the cycles of the moon, which are the meter of the feminine aspect of creation. The essence of Storm is the feeling of unity, security and warmth experienced in the home while the tempest of trouble rages in the world outside. Perpetually youthful, Storms exist to experience the ecstasy of freedom. They have the great capacity to both learn and teach. Their constant quest for novel experiences often leads to difficult tests and storms of emotion. Looking at these difficulties for the lessons they indeed are, will enrich our lives rather than destroy. Cauac individuals teach much through their electricity of being. Lightning energizes earth, this same energy energizes humans. Divine connections can be accessed.
Cherokee, Redbird/TOTSU’HWA: Redbird’s symbol is Alcyone of the Pleiades Star in constellation Taurus. Alcyone is the Central Sun of the Universe, heart of heaven. Lightning is the visible evidence of the presence of Redbird Spirit in the Sky, daughter of the Sun Spirit, sign of Fire, Sun’s alter ego on Earth. Redbird is a feminine sign; the hand that rocks the cradle. The symbol of nurturing, the lightning nurtures and energizes, with energy for zest, curiosity, imagination, and ideas. Lightning adds spiritual force to the human by way of “lightning of the blood” of a healer, directly body to body vibration. The key to spiritual communication and access to the wisdom of the Ancestors lies in the ability to bestir the blood to speak. Sacred stones such as flint, obsidian, crystal are created by lightning striking the ground.
NEW DAY KEEPERS: My sacred intention for the new Tzolk’in round is to offer more personal support to those who may want to learn more about ways to draw personal meaning from the calendar. I will be offering an Introductory Guided Course for Day Keepers in the near future. Contact me if this is something you would be interested in! Also, if you’d just like help identifying your Day Sign, I’m more than happy to help. Blessings, in lak’ech Debra (firstname.lastname@example.org)
