MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
Tone 3 calls for the Movement that would bring a new Intention to Life. Like the sap rising in the trees, Earth/CABAN would draw us to Acknowledge our shared Experience – a new life-blood of Spirit that’s rising again in us.
As we take the first step that draws something of Spirit into our physical world, Storm/CAUAC reminds us of our Unlimited Freedom. The Lightning of Storm, among the most powerful displays of movement we witness, is not bound by any course – it chooses it’s own direction in each moment.
Storm reminds us of the unlimited experiences of Spirit that we are offered. Storm brings the energy compared to the comfort of home. Storm brings the nourishment of nitrogen and the ether of lightning to re-ignite the Heart. The Cherokee Day Sign Red Bird is a symbol of “lightning in the blood.” 3 Storm/CAUAC encourages us to make our first Movement of Intention with the Consciousness and Commitment to Follow our Heart.
Storm/CAUAC guides us to cherish what is important and to find our security and happiness in an inner world. Earth/CABAN presents us with the medium where our new Roots of Spirit can reach down to find a deeper foundation. Lightning charges the Seed of a New Inspiration in a New Season of Becoming.
As a Day of Lightning in the Blood, our Spiritual Gifts of Intuition and Telepathy are re-awakened. This is a day when our Senses are heightened to a Calling through Body and Soul.
The question on my mind this morning was, “Did I tend the garden? Or, did the garden tend me?” We are one and the same with the Elements of Earth. The same forces of Nature exist within us. Were we given something physical that we could touch and experience to effect the dreams we desire within?
This is the driving question raised in my consciousness that would offer a new passion of movement. The early answer is that I know that when I am loving nature, I feel connected and loved back. I also experience True Love in its purest form – a sacred exchange that holds no expectation but to Receive the Beauty that is.
The Sacred Intention that calls to me is to explore the Question more deeply. And, as I til the soil of a new Spring, I’ll be tilling the Soil of Me. I am already imagining how the sights, smells, and feels would offer a New Experience, when approached with a new Loving Intention.
To all my relations, may we each consider our own way to employ Earth’s magic to manifest the beauty we would desire to Grow Within. Every element of nature could offer a unique way to interact with our Self. May we remember the Way the Jaguar shares, to create Magic by Loving the Earth.

3 Storm/CAUAC (Cherokee, Redbird /TOTSU’HWA)
Galactic Tone 3: Action. Three is basic movement and communication, which begins as a vibration. Three energy is very eloquent in all types of self-expression. Communication is how Three establishes a point of agreement between any point “A” and any point “B”. Three persons are rhythmic to the core and are often restless, as motion is their nature. By working closely with the energy of Three, any person becomes more able to predict motions of all kinds.
Storm/Cauac: Day of the blessing of rain, giver of all life and lightening, a gift of nitrogen to Mother Earth and ozone to Father Sky. Cauac is also associated with the moon and the cycles of the moon, which are the meter of the feminine aspect of creation. The essence of Storm is the feeling of unity, security and warmth experienced in the home while the tempest of trouble rages in the world outside. Perpetually youthful, Storms exist to experience the ecstasy of freedom. They have the great capacity to both learn and teach. Their constant quest for novel experiences often leads to difficult tests and storms of emotion. Looking at these difficulties for the lessons they indeed are, will enrich our lives rather than destroy. Cauac individuals teach much through their electricity of being. Lightning energizes earth, this same energy energizes humans. Divine connections can be accessed.
Cherokee, Redbird/TOTSU’HWA: Redbird is a feminine sign; the hand that rocks the cradle. The symbol of nurturing, the lightning nurtures and energizes, with energy for zest, curiosity, imagination, and ideas. Lightning adds spiritual force to the human by way of “lightning of the blood” of a healer, directly body to body vibration. The key to spiritual communication and access to the wisdom of the Ancestors lies in the ability to bestir the blood to speak.
