MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S BLOG
Galactic Tone 12 offers the intention of Understanding. This is the day of the trecena when a new Truth sinks in as the Wisdom from which we would ascend to our next level of Consciousness. CIMI’s guidance on change presented the missing piece that brings everything we’ve learned together as a new functioning whole.
CIMI helped us to see that managing chaos is expected in our perpetual process of change. We can see it as only the problems we face, or we can recognize it as the Truth that we are moving toward another new beginning. The CIB trecena of Higher Learning shared a Truth that we never walk alone. No matter what our challenge, we call Divine Guidance to our Self, when we surrender ourselves into the hands of Divine Agency.
The changes we must go through are critical to our Dynamic Development. If this is true, by Divine Design, Human would be given a Way to overcome these challenges.
Deer/MANIK is the bringer of Spiritual Tools, and as the Day Sign of the Mayan Priest, represents God’s Hands in the world. The glyph illustrates our own Hand (another name for Deer/MANIK), capable to reach up and grasp the “ether of God” to complete a circuit to Divine Power. The greatest gift of MANIK is the Understanding that there is a Spiritual Tool to overcome every limitation.
Deer/MANIK can help us see the paradox between our Human vs Spiritual Nature. The insecurity of our Ego, leads us to project the illusion that everything is okay. It somehow identifies our challenges as a reflection of something wrong with our Self. We resist reaching out and uncovering the truth that our lives are less than perfectly in order. Yet we learned from CIMI that in Truth, that will never be the case. Our ever-changing nature means there will always be chaos.
MANIK helps us to draw upon our own limitations, offering the Truth that for every challenge, a Spiritual Tools has been created to overcome. This is a day to overcome the illusions of our Ego, by standing in our own Power.
Deer is the totem that stands silently, using the Spiritual Tool of Vigilance, to keep watch in every direction. It’s means of protection is standing still. Through a tool of Vigilance, it is prepared to know when and where to move. Vigilance is our key Spiritual Tool, as the effort required to pay attention to our own thoughts and experiences. Our Spiritual Transformation is an effort of paying attention.
In the face of life’s difficulties, the natural instinct of our Ego is to escape. We can feel drawn toward impulsive action when we are uncomfortable in the chaos of change. Deer calls us to take time for deliberate discernment. Whenever we face life’s challenges, our first line of defense is to stand silently and affirm our own Truth. We never walk alone. And, Divine Agency will always help us find a Way.
This is a True Meaning of Divine Justice. Our life circumstances are not equal. We can think of others whose burden is far greater than our own. Where is their Divine Justice? Harmony and equality was the most Holy Intention of the Creator. Our common Dream is to just be Happy and to Give and Receive Love. We are learning that life’s circumstances never stand in the way of that opportunity, when we are One in Relationship with the Creator. The Gifts of Happiness and Love are as near as the moment when we surrender to Divine Agency the illusions of our limitation.
As I am figuring out a way through some current chaos, I had a new revelation of change. I realized my current circumstances were the result of choices I made 15 years ago. They were good intentions that didn’t work out as I’d hoped. As I thought of the emotional attachment – unforgiveness by my ego, I realized the Truth of the exponential changes I have gone through in 15 years. Yet, my Ego was still holding on to self-disappointment, as if those decisions were made yesterday. I found a new way to Stand in the Truth of Today – and a Greater Truth of my own Change.
Deer/MANIK is a Blue Day Sign of the West. Today we are presented a new Understanding to carry as our Truth on a Path of Divine Learning. West is the direction of our “hard road of life” – our experiences and emotional responses to everyday living. If we use our Spiritual Tool of Vigilance, we will Know exactly where our illusions lie by the Fear of the Ego.
Again, the Transformation of our Understanding requires a Divine Communion – a Heart-to-Heart. We must visit the dark place of the unknown, and look in the face of our own fear. As we acquire the Wisdom to do this willingly – vigilantly – we will begin to learn how close we always are to Love and Happiness.
We are also learning more about the challenges of being Human. Just as we never walk alone, we are never the only one facing a challenge. We are always in that same boat together. Deer/MANIK reminds us of the great need and Divine Intention that we would expand God’s Love in the world… that we would be the Hand of God for each other.
We have been learning that we are all split-apart sparks of the Creator. Just as we are learning to open our Heart to the Creator, so would we learn to share ourselves with each other, standing on the Truth of our authenticity. In the courage to reveal ourselves we Share a Mutual Healing. There is a Blessing of Honor when someone Trusts us enough to share their Truth. And, in the sharing, there is a Healing of the Illusion that we walk this “hard road” alone.
Deer/MANIK asks us to share an experience of limitation. Our instruction is to stand still and revisit what we believe is True. If we believe in the Truth of our Spiritual Nature – that we are Beings of Spirit, then we can believe that in the realm of Spirit there is a Divine Presence ready to see us through.
To all my relations, may we recognize the Power we Hold in the courage to open our Heart. We can remember how we are inclined to pretend we’re always okay. When we are faced with the circumstances we hoped to avoid, the fear of our illusion can be broken and replaced with the Truth of our own resilience. We gain the strength of Understanding that no circumstance we are given needs to stand in the way of our own Happiness. We always hold the Unlimited Power and Possibility of Divine Spirit. May we face the Truth of our limitations with an open mind and heart. Standing on the Truth that we never walk alone, nor carry a burden greater than our Spirit is capable to bear. May we listen for calls from the Heart shared by others, and be ready to extend the Hand of God that would share the Truth of our Self.

12 Deer (Hand)/MANIK, (Cherokee Deer Ahwu’sdi)
Galactic Tone 12: Twelve is a gift of great capacity of retrospection. It is this ability that allows Twelve to connect disassociated parts into a (new) functioning whole. The energy of Twelve is that which presents a new piece of understood information or accumulated experience to be applied.
Deer/MANIK (Hand): Deer are spirit tools. Silence itself is a spiritual experience for Deer. For Deer life is a pilgrimage. Deer are dominant persons who defend the people and will make sacrifices for others. The spirit of Deer upholds the pillars of the four directions. With the power inherent in the number four, Deer pushes away bad influences or negative energies. Skill and quality of work are very important to Deer. They are presented with tools for every task in life and it is with these that they are able to rise above limitations. Deer has a habit of keeping every tool it has ever used. This leads to clutter and indecision, loss and procrastination. When confronted with promises not kept, Deer becomes stubborn, manipulative and evasive.
Cherokee, Deer/Ahwu’sdi: Symbolized by Constellation Galagina, the Stag, known as Taurus, the Bull. It does not include the Pleiades and Hyades clusters which in Cherokee are viewed as separate. To feed, gatherers of food and supplies, they enjoy rituals, ceremonials, feasts, the souls of hospitality, sociability. Freedom versus security issues often inspire leadership and unique solutions. Combined with artistic and inspiring energies in harmony with lunar cycles, they nourish the clans. Totem-Deer: A priest or shaman, a powerful person in general, to overwhelm an individual with one’s personal power, divination; inclined to become a teacher, healer, guru, civic leader, or politician. Ability to create harmonic resonance.
