MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
On Tone 13 of Ascension, the Serpent/CHICCHAN trecena completes a Transformation of Spirit. Number 13 reflects the power of theurgy, our ability to call on Divine Intervention through ritual and sacred ceremony. We are elevated by a new Consciousness of the Meaning and Purpose of our life on Mother Earth.
CHICCHAN’s purpose was to help us recognize that we were placed on Earth to fulfill a mission of Spirit, a role that the Creator designed us to fulfill. Though we walk the road of Human, our True Identity was made in the likeness of a Divine Spirit.
We are Spiritual Beings having a Human experience. Through a Portal we were able to see the Forces of Nature within us as part of the magic of who We Are. The Cherokee Day Sign, The Heron, is compared to the Phoenix that rises from its own ashes to a new life. This is a day to renew our “Sacred Yes” to the experience of life on Mother Earth in the Light of Spiritual Consciousness.
Through the energy of Ascension, 13 Earth/CABAN returns us across the boundary of time and dimension… we can leave our past behind. Mother/Earth was the first gift of the Creator, designed to be the source of all Human Knowledge. Everything we know we learned from Her. Because we are One, she is a living illustration of everything we need to know about our Self. Like her, we have the power to move on from the darkness to a new sunrise. The Sun is always shining. Darkness only lasts as long as we are turned away from the Light.
We no longer have to accept Darkness as part of our Self. Whenever we encounter Darkness we can know we carry a Light within. The Divine Discernment of our Higher Self, means we no longer have to be controlled by our fears. Justice is always found through Divine Discernment.
I faced some darkness yesterday, though I found myself deeply observant of the experience. It was a story that’s played before of inequity imposed by others in higher position by entitlement and authority. HA – My own version of the news. It started with pain over an imposed disadvantage. Seeing only my powerlessness in a situation, it snow-balled into every injustice I could draw from memory. I sought to ease the pain by forgiving, affirming, and bearing the injustice. I made the Choice to turn to Spirit, though I wondered how Divine Discernment could fix this one.
My thoughts turned to all the elements of this darkness. As Light is the symbol of Truth, Darkness is a symbol of UnTruth, trying to appear as Truth. Darkness is always an Illusion covered up by Fear. I saw that my pain was really the fear of failing to create my dreams. I blamed people and circumstances I can’t control as holding power over me, seeing a lifetime of handicaps too great to overcome.
We must know darkness to overcome it. We must see it for all it is, face-to-face. This was a darkness that has come up many times before. It was evident I’d never received the Divine Discernment. It was the kind of darkness that keeps coming back.
Today I got some new answers. I realized that praying, forgiving, and affirming didn’t make me feel better. I realized “bearing injustice” is being a martyr. The Divine Discernment was NOT to be meek in Spirit, but to Claim my Spiritual Authority.
We hold the Authority over the Light in our own Life. Whatever we want to accomplish, the Creator has already spoken will Be So, as long as we use the Gift for the Greater Good. Human was given Authority over the Earth through our Being of Spirit. No matter what fear we face, when we look through the Eyes of the Creator, we will see the Truth. The Truth of what we are afraid of is always Healed by the Consciousness of our Spiritual Authority.
We are One With Mother Earth, created to sustain Herself and all Earthly Beings. We hold the same Power to Sustain our Light. We can look into the darkness, knowing the Light of the Creator is still Shining.
May we see our Self rising to a new way of Being. At our Ascension of the CHICCHAN trecena, we are offered a Gift of Believing in our own Spiritual Authority. May we Accept it, and rise from our own ashes to say “Yes” new a new experience of Life on Earth.
To all my relations, may we Offer a Blessing of Light to Mother Earth. May we trust her to carry us to a new sunrise. May we greet each day as a Sacred Gathering of Light to emanate in the darkness. May we Acknowledge Each Day as Sacred, and use our Light to see the Darkness for what it is. May we Accept our Divine Authority as the Gift of CHICCHAN, who helps us Believe in the Spark Shared by the Creator by igniting our “lightning in the blood.”

13 Earth/CABAN (Cherokee, Heron/GUWI’SGUWI)
Galactic Tone 13: Ascension; Thirteen assists us to go to the next higher step, propels us to try something new or to try again. Thirteen energy takes us over the next mountain just to see what is there. Thirteen carries the last success to the newest effort. Thirteen is a number associated with the Ascended Masters, creation, expansion, and manifestation.
Earth/Caban: Earth/Caban: Keeper of the garden of Earth. Profound synchronistic connections to Earth’s natural cycles and energies provide power of creations and memories of ancient wisdom. Earth persons help dispel bad intentions, habits and ideas. This makes them very good counselors and masters of all arts. Studious and intelligent, Earth persons endeavor to bring a flow of natural order to all aspects of life. Being connected to the dynamic forces of nature, Earth persons need much liberty to facilitate their expression of migration or the sending of long distance communications such as the whales, elephants, birds and many other creatures. Sometimes Earth’s delicate sensitivities are upset resulting in quakes of emotion even the display of volcanic temper.
Cherokee, Heron/GUWI’SGUWI: Sign of movement, of perpetual motion, recycling, regeneration; environmentalists fighting for the underdog. Heron is mentally alert, rational, yet opinionated; has a great faith in people and in the divine plan, holding the magic of ministry, medicine, marketing and matchmaking; healing abilities, especially with crystals; negotiation and mediation energy. Heron is symbolized by Deneb, located in the Northern Cross beside the Milky Way.
