MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
Tone 4 presents our stabilizing force for Spiritual Growth. The cube is the most stable of forms, presenting the 4 dimensions of height, length, depth, and breadth. The 4 directions establish the form, parameters, and orientation. Tone 3 initiated Movement and Tone 4 gives us a sense of Direction.
The Reed is the hollow tube through which our Spirits are connected to the Divine. The glyph’s horizontal line illustrates an altar. Below are the prayer rugs where we kneel in the presence of God. Above are the channels through which we draw the Light of the Creator.
Reed/BEN is the defender of family and home. They hold the Higher Intention of bringing order, peace, and harmony to all their relations. Reed/BEN is a Day Sign of High Expectations that encourages us to live in the Integrity of our Divine Intention of Love.
PORTAL DAY: Element of Ether – A Portal that presents a thinning of the veil to other dimensions magnifies our experience of communion with the Creator. On Portal Days we can experience our Spiritual Gifts of Intuition and Knowing. Reed/BEN is the Day Sign of spiritual masters and clairvoyants. A portal will magnify our sense of the stability of the Creator’s Divine Love.
Our closest experience of relationship lies in our Home, Family, and Community. The Maya observed Reed/BEN as a day to bless and repair the home. Our attention is called to the condition of our closest relationships for the improvements that are needed. Home is the place of our greatest influence. As the place where the expectation of Love is the greatest, Family is the most important place for Giving and Receiving Love.
Reed/BEN reminds us that we are living demonstrations of Love to our children. Our Highest Mission at home is to set an example of the Stability of Love. “Charity begins at home.” Within the parameters of our everyday lives, our Unconditional Love holds the greatest influence.
Reed/BEN is the channel for a Divine Exchange. Home was meant to be a place of both Giving and Receiving Love. The best place to put down our roots is where we can receive the nourishment we need to grow. We grow best in a stable Environment of Love.
Reed/BEN emphasizes the importance of family. Our biological families don’t always fulfill our need for Unconditional Love. We don’t have to let those expectations stand in our way. We need a place where we can share our authentic feelings and know we will still be loved. We are free to choose a new family among those with which we can share a stable and loving relationship.
Reed/BEN holds high expectations. It warns us to lead with a rubber hose and not a steel pipe. One offers a flexible channel, while the other is rigid.
To draw the Light of Heavenly Love requires a position of Humility. Human’s are fallible. Our own road to a relationship with the Creator takes many twists and turns. In our authenticity we share the Light of our True Experience that includes both our successes and failures. In Humility, we can acknowledge that our children are capable to forge their own road to Spirit, no less worthy than our own. We can expect our children to look for their own “better” way. Our “next generation” will learn from experiences different than our own. Our best effort is to create an environment of Unconditional Love that sets a course for direction. So must we choose relationships that guide us in the right direction. The more we experience Unconditional Love, the more we are capable to give it.
Reed/BEN is the altar we can always turn to within. Kneeling in the Humility of our Human condition, we always have a place to receive the Unconditional Love of the Creator.
Reed/BEN calls us to live in the authenticity of Love. It’s a day to make a humble assessment of our own example. We will instinctively know the best places to call home by paying attention to the experiences we draw from our relationships.
There are some environments where its difficult to establish an equal exchange of love. These are the places where we’re most likely to experience ourselves as a failure, walking away feeling we are less than we were before the interaction. For many years this was the experience of my biological family. I would make the proverbial trip home, hoping to be seen through fresh eyes, only to leave feeling more like a child. I’ve found a similar experience, wherever I’ve felt it necessary to prove my love to “make” others love me back. Sometimes forgiveness is the only way to experience “right relationship.”
Monkey/CHUEN would find humor in the curiosity that Human would seek Unconditional Love where We Least Expect to find it. Dog/OC would already be two steps ahead, wagging its tail at the next best opportunity.
Human was given a Stable Source for all the Love we need. We can anchor ourselves to the channel of Love that is always open. We can kneel in Humility, acknowledging the Creator’s Love is the only source needed to prove ourselves worthy.
When we realize our One True Source of Love, we no longer have to desperately seek our Love from the world. Drawing from a Source of Love that Overflows, our only concern would be the next best place to share it.
To all my relations, may we humble ourselves before the altar of Unconditional Love where a channel to the Creator is always open. May turning to the Creator be our highest example of the way to Receive Love. May we demonstrate the Humility and Wisdom of our Human fallibility. By admitting we can be wrong, we show others that they can be wrong too, and still be worthy of Love. Some of our greatest lessons are learned through our mistakes. Accepting our imperfection frees us from the need to be “right.” In an environment of Unconditional Love, there’s no need to justify our Self. We’re stabilized by the Love of Divine Justice. When we head in the direction of the Creator’s Love, we’ll always end up in the Light.
in lak’ech, I am another you

A NEW COMMITMENT TO GRATITUDE:
I’m sharing a the “21-Days of Gratitude” as a perpetual Personal Ceremony through the next journey to 8 Monkey/CHUEN Maya New Year. This 21 days started on 11 Jaguar/IX and ends in synchronicity, on 5 Jaguar/IX – 5th Tone of Empowering the Magic of Gratitude. (21 days from Tone 154 thru 174.)
21-Days of Gratitude: Day 20
I’m grateful that we always have a place to turn for Unconditional Love. I’m grateful that we don’t have to be perfect to be a good example of Love, that we are seen as Sacred in the Choice of a Mission to Love.

4 Reed/BEN (Cherokee, Reed I’hya)
Galactic Tone 4: Stability; the cube is most stable of all forms and establishes volume by definition of height, length, depth and breadth; 4 directions establish orientation. The energy of 4 sets the parameters, which establish the freedoms and barriers needed to create a game, work, or relationship.
Reed/BEN: Reed persons are the spiritual essence, protectors and guiding light for family and home. They are competent speakers who will take up a cause. Very tough and analytical, Reeds endeavor to bring peace, harmony, and order to all of their relations. Reeds are blessed with great skill at negotiations and consoling which are very often put to the test. Although Reeds need a log of appreciation, many have a marriage or business problems because of inflexible views and high expectations, which erode affinity. The lesson of Reed is to be like a garden hose, not a steel pipe.
Cherokee Cherokee, Reed I’hya: Symbol-Reed is the Earth, reflection of the Star Chaga of Pollux. Reed made up the Magician Twins who led the journey to bring back to life the daughter of the Sun. The Casket is Gemini. Energy for Intellectual minds, creation, re-creation, new directions, breaking the ties that bind. A trailblazer and leader. From the East, direction of success and happiness, no matter what route is taken, always ending up in the Light.
