5 Jaguar / IX – Mission of Love: Day 5 of 13

MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL

5 Jaguar / IX

Greetings Kin,

5 Jaguar/IX brings an Empowerment of Spirit. We become Conscious of the Power of our Gratitude within.

Tone 5 holds the Intention of bringing Power to accomplish Spiritual Growth. We are still unaware of our progress in the darkness. Like a Seed working its way to the Light, we’re moving by Instinct and our Senses.

Jaguar/IX is an Archetype of the Divine Feminine, the Highest Spiritual Day Sign, as a symbol of Compassionate Love and Divine Discernment.

Jaguar Knows the Heart of Mother Earth and Senses her heartbeat, seeing her as the Giver of Blessings. Jaguar/IX calls us close to the Mother, to see the Truth that she is always there as a Loving Consciousness. Our hearts beat together. Like a Mother, she shares the Joy and Heartbreak of her children.

Today we can be Empowered by the Consciousness that the vibrations of Compassionate Love are eternally around us. They live on until they accomplish the ultimate task Harmony and Equity.  As the one who knows the way to the Sacred Sites and Temples, Jaguar/IX helps us find the Eternal Light within,

The lower energies of the first Tones of the new phase of Spiritual Growth are building momentum. Like the resistance of inertia, the first 4 Tones can feel like we’re carrying our baggage.  Tone 5 is a breakthrough of power. Jaguar/IX generates the Power of Spirit. IX is the mystical shaman who Knows Earth Magic, said to be a Gift born of Gratitude for Mother Earth.

I’ve been struggling a bit with the energy and a little out of touch. Searching for inspiration as I woke up, I wondered what would be the Highest Creation of Beauty Human could aim for? What would be the Highest Love to give?

At Christmas I found myself longing for the old days when family gathered at the farm. Sisters engaged in the latest craft or poured over Mom’s cookbooks in the kitchen while she cooked, intermingling with the crowd watching football on TV in the living room. My best memories are those when Grandma Naomi was still there.

Naomi was a master artist of every hand-held craft, crochet, knitting, tatting, and quilting… always in the middle of a creation. The farm is only a few miles from “The Little House on the Prairie” of Laura Ingalls Wilder fame, and she grew up there in that same time-frame of history.

She never complained of hard times, but shared their stories of survival. Growing up, they made ends meet through hard winters by making molasses out of cane. Her Grandma survived a Western Kansas winter in a dugout. Horse was her first means of transportation. Food didn’t come from a grocery store, but from the garden, hunting, or livestock.

The exchanges of “I love you” where mostly in coming and going, though she always exuded love.  She gave her time and attention, stories, and gifts made by her hand. She was a woman of faith and of few words, more of Truth than opinion. Her style of Wisdom was, “You can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.” Today, she is represented by as many as 100 people over 4 generations – more than I can count.

Jaguar/IX is a shape-shifter and time traveler who can take us to any place in time. When times are hard, we can look to the Spirit of Eternal Love that lives on within us. We owe our Lives to those who survived the “hard road of life” to bring us into the world. We can see how our path was made easier by the Power of their Spirit. The elements of their being are part of Mother Earth. The Ether of their Spirit still exists in the Water that falls from heaven, to the streams and rivers that lead to the Ocean. Their Ether is part of every breath.

When we look for the Spirit of Love that lives on within us, we can make it through because we know they did, against the same hard odds of inequity. Within our memories of Compassionate Love we’ll see the Eternal Power of Love to touch our heart.

Love is Eternal and Love Always Grows. Each way of showing love is special, though the showering of material abundance is never central to our stories of Real Love. More love is shared in the stories that remind us where we came from, that prove we can survive, and bear Truth to the Abundance of our Spiritual Blessings.

Jaguar/IX can lead us to the Altar within where all our Memories of Love Survive. Here, we can sense that hearts still beat together. IX can show us our strength is empowered by Love passed down through time. Gratitude is the evidence that we acknowledge the gift. Gratitude fulfills the Intention of the Gift given as a Sacred Exchange.

To all my relations, may we be empowered by the memories of all the Love that has been given to us. May we call on Spirit to help complete the task for all the Love we still can’t see that deserves our Gratitude. May we give our Love knowing that our Vibration of Love will Live On until it reaches the heart.  May we be more concerned with Giving than Receiving, knowing Receiving stops with us, while Giving lives on.

in lak’ech, I am another you

Debra, Jaguar Woman/9 Eagle/MEN

A NEW COMMITMENT TO GRATITUDE:

I’m sharing a the “21-Days of Gratitude” as a perpetual Personal Ceremony through the next journey to 8 Monkey/CHUEN Maya New Year.  Today is the 21st day started on 11 Jaguar/IX. Today on 5 Jaguar/IX gifts us with an Empowerment of Gratitude.

Since Jaguar/IX is the Day Sign of Gratitude, it seems right and good to begin and end every 21 days on Jaguar/IX. So, today will be both Day 21 of one ceremony, and also Day 1 of the next.  (Our next 21-Days of Gratitude begins 5 Jaguar/IX (Kin 174) and ends on 12 Jaguar/IX (Kin 194), a day of Understanding the Magic of Gratitude.

21-Days of Gratitude: Day 21, and Day 1

I’m grateful for the Love that always is, and grateful for the Earth beneath my feet.

CORNMEAL BLESSING: On this 21st Day and new beginning an Offering of Cornmeal is a worthy and proven way to offer a Blessing of Gratitude to Mother Earth. The Cornmeal Offering is also a traditional part of indigenous Sunrise Ceremony. A handful of cornmeal is taken in the fist of the right hand. First, we ask permission that the Cornmeal be used for a Sacred Purpose, and share our Intention that our Offering be made in a good way. Facing East, we give thanks for the Sun that rises there each day, the source of our Life, Light, and Happiness. To the South, we give thanks for our Relationships with one another and the Earth. To the West, we give thanks for the light that always shines in the darkness of our experience. And to the North, we give thanks for the Wisdom of our Grandfathers and Grandmothers. And to our own Center, the Above and the Below, we give thanks for everything we share with the all around. Your morning prayers are given to the cornmeal in 4 breaths. Then holding gratitude for Mother Earth, turn to the Sun and release the cornmeal into the wind.  Cornmeal is a symbol of the People and an Offering of our own Spirit.

5 Jaguar/IX (Cherokee, Panther Saho’ni)

Galactic Tone 5: Empowerment. At the center of the cube we find Five. Five is an intelligent, organizing force which manages communications and materials, knowledge and application. Fives are natural networkers who gather what is needed. These persons can probe directly to the core of any situation making them excellent investigators.

Jaguar/IX: Born with a deep love of the Mother Earth, Jaguar or shaman is directly tied to the source of all Earth magic. They possess great power of intellect and strength of character through integrity. Jaguar energy is feminine in nature and is the ruling spirit of jungles, plains, and mountains. The spirit of Jaguar inhabits the Mayan temples and is called on to assist in spiritual as well as in material ways. Jaguar is also the god/goddess of gratefulness. Patience born of strength and skill can turn to pounce of quick decision and action. Both bold and stealthful, Jaguars do not often attack directly and communications from them usually contain some mystery. In the absence of integrity, Jaguars power corrupts becoming a search for wealth and fame.

Totem-Jaguar:  Guardian of the portals to other dimensions, shamanic abilities will open.  Multi-dimensional magic. Healer, leader, way shower energy when used for spiritual growth. Abuse would be using this power for control or negative purposes.  Must find a powerful balance.

Cherokee, Panther/SAHO’NI:  Symbol – comets, meteors, shooting stars, fireballs, magicians.  The early-morning Leo constellation Meteors appearing around the middle of November are Heralds of the Coming of the Light, the Cherokee New Year.  Shadow of the Sphinx, Herald of the Dawn, guardians of the night when the sun is traveling through the underworld. Shapeshifters, manipulators of manifestations. Unlimited imaginations, visualizations, spellbinding speakers.

[Text in italics was the primary source of inspiration for my journal. These are the sources that started my journey and they are the reference for interpretation each day. By providing the original text, I hope to offer a way to see what inspired my thoughts and by including all the aspects – allow for something more to inspire you. Mayan descriptions are those written by Ian Lungold. Cherokee descriptions came from multiple sources. Links to sources and other resources of study are offered on the Daykeeper Resources Page. • Thanks Michele – You’re right. Yesterday, thinking about her, I was thinking what a good project it would be to write the stories I was told about each ancestor that I could for my kids. You must know as well as any, the stories that happen on a farm. I thought of you too while I was writing, assuming we share some similar experiences… so, expect you have plenty of similar stories. in lak’ech, wish you abundance in the new year! Debra

      • A few summers ago, i wrote abput those passed, that I remembered-and what I remembered, including the geneology-for my children. I really have been wanting to write about my grandmother and tell her story in depth, for future family. When I read of Naomi, I felt drawn to her.
