MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
Tone 6 offers the Peak Energy of Flow to establish a rhythm and pattern of Movement. Earth/CABAN is the Day Sign that synchronizes our Movement with Mother Earth.
CABAN draws our awareness to the planetary seasons and cycles that define a Time for Every Purpose. Through the Movement of Mother Earth we experience cycles of darkness and light, seasons of Germination, Growth, Harvest, and Dormancy.
Road/EB is the Day Sign of Human, raising our consciousness to our own Journey through life. There will always be experiences of “dark” and “light.” Holding Faith that every experience is presented by the design of a Divine Creator, like the Maya, we can see every day as a Sacred Event. We don’t always have a choice in the circumstances presented, though we always hold the Authority of choosing our experience.
Earth/CABAN is the Day Sign of Mother Earth, a Body of Perpetual Movement. CABAN represents the body of nourishment that sustains Human life, and the body of Knowledge from which Human can learn everything we would want to know about Life and the Whole of the Universe. Earth’s sustained movement holds the Balance of its Relationship with the Sun.
Mother Earth embraces us in Her movement, guiding us to go with the Flow. Through Humility and Forgiveness, Earth is capable to move us beyond the darkness of our negative thoughts and behaviors.
This same Relationship of Movement between the Earth and Sun is a Balance reflected by the Moon and all the heavenly bodies in the Universe that rotate around their Brightest Star. Human is amazed at the size of the Moon, that so perfectly covers the Sun in the event of an eclipse. We assume that everything was created in a perfect size (a static assumption). Upon further inspection we can discover that this perfect match is manifested by Movement (dynamic). The Moon is actually moved into its orbit by opposing gravitational forces. It placement is the product of size, weight, and opposing gravitational forces between the Sun, Moon, and Earth. The Moon doesn’t eclipse the Sun so perfectly due to its size, but by its Positioning in a place of Balance.
By the Earth’s Movement so are we always being positioned in the perfect Place and Time. Turning in rhythm with Mother Earth maintains our Balance. The Cherokee Heron is a bird of perpetual migration and a symbol of the Phoenix who rises from the ashes of its past to live again. The Aztec Day Sign Ollin (Ah-lin), is a sign that simply means Movement. To exist wherever we choose to be is a perpetual effort. We exist in the Center of Divine Consciousness by continually turning there. The Aztec define this day as lucky for the “active principle,” and not so lucky for the “passive principle,” movement by Intention versus the movement we might be drawn to by the influence of others around us. Ollin was the Sign to “Move and Act Now with ALL your Heart.”
Tone 6 represents a rhythm and pattern of Movement. Earth/CABAN guides us to keep moving. Our perfection depends on it. We never arrive to exist in one place, whether it’s darkness or light. The Spiritual Growth we’ve invested in is an effort to Remember this Choice. Road/EB is presenting us with a Choice to experience our life as a Journey of Harmony and Happiness.
The Aztec sign for Road/EB (Human) is Grass/MALINALLI. Grass is among the most prevalent and hearty of all the “Green Beings.” Grasses evolved along with early plant-eating mammals that first appeared about 25 million years ago. Grass is perennial by nature, holding its potential for life through every season. Grass defines our Human lives as a continuing effort of living through the ups and downs. Grass is the most humble of plants. Stepped on or turned under, Grass will spring up again. Grass is often bent, but not broken. So can the Human Spirit be transformed to spring forth eternal.
CABAN guides us to go with the Flow of Mother Earth, not resisting any of the experiences she presents, but remembering to always be turning to the Creator. Synchronized with the Flow of Mother Earth, no matter how bent or broken we may feel, we can perennially rise again to Live in the Light. With each turn, we can grow Closer to a Divine Source of Light.
Tone 6 represents the Peak Flow of this energy. We have established a momentum of movement in an effort of Spiritual Growth. We hold the Power and Momentum to complete the Dream of our Intention. Peak Days of each trecena are the best days for accomplishments.
Peak Tones are days you can mark on your calendar to schedule important meetings, plans, presentations, and the negotiation of long-term commitments, good days for the beginning of a new way of life… a move, a marriage, a new job, a day to ask for a new salary or position. 6 Earth/CABAN can move us to a new place to spring up and grow. We can begin anything now as an Intention.
6 Earth/CABAN can generate our Inner Knowing that all is right with the world, that we are positioned exactly where we are meant to be… not too late or too early. We hold the Power of Momentum to continue on course. The Aztec define this energy as a Conscious of Who we are Becoming. We can see the New Life, rising from the ashes of our past.
We can always find the joy in living by continuing to move and learn from our experience on Mother Earth. Stopping or standing still is the only thing that could prevent us from reaching our Divine Destiny.
We can also see the distance from each other that’s needed to maintain our own orbit. We must allow others the right to their own orbit, rather than attempting to force them into ours. It is Right and Good to make Choices that allow us to exist in the Integrity of who we are. The way of Forgiveness doesn’t mean we must bear unyielding punishment. Forgiveness can release us so we can move on. It’s easier to say “no” when we have forgiven and humbly accepted the Truth of the way things are. Grass doesn’t grow on a well-beaten path. It springs up on a “road less traveled.”
Human was given unlimited opportunity to create our own way of Movement. The Gift of Free Will is the reason we Honor the space of others so they too, can create their own path. All roads will lead us Home to the Creator when we flow with the Movement of Mother Earth that perpetually turns Darkness into Light.
Today we can realize the momentum we’ve created through our perpetual turning to the Greatest Light in our world. We’re learning that we can Choose to turn to our Divine Nature, instead of our Human Nature.
My Grandmother Naomi shared childhood stories of grasses so high that all she could see of someone approaching by horseback was their head and shoulders. May we humbly submit ourselves to be moved to the place where we can grow as the Tallest Grass.
To all my relations, may we bend so we are never broken. May our greatest Beauty exist as a contradiction to the flowers that the world expects to see. May our Beauty be recognized by our Movement, as a Sea of Grass waved by the Wind, disseminated by the Breath of Life and Spirit. May we Forgive, Believing that though we may be bent by injustice, by Divine Design we were created to rise again in a place where we could reach to the sky. Today is a day to remember the Gifts of Mother Earth, and to give something back for all She has given. Above all, may we Choose what we Love, and Move and Act Now with ALL our Heart.

MIRACLES OF ASTRONOMY: If you’re fascinated by astronomy as I am, “Scientific American” explains more of this Sun/Moon/Earth relationship. It notes a Divine Miracle of Time and Space. Due to the elliptical shape of the Moon’s orbit, there are slight variations in the proportionate size with the Sun as seen from Earth, based on where it is in orbit when it crosses the Sun. Billions of years ago, the Moon appeared much larger from Earth. No ring of fire was seen around the edges of the eclipse. The Moon totally blocked the Sun, creating longer periods of total darkness. By this same pattern of movement, billions of years into the future, the Moon will position to be seen as only a shadow on the Sun that no longer blocks the light. The Miracle of Synchronicity is that the Solar Eclipse of the Sun manifested at the very time in history when Human first appeared on Earth, in a placement that would exist for the Lifetime of Humanity. A Coming Eclipse: The Moon is currently moving into position for a Solar Eclipse in Cancer, July 14-15. Eclipses represent a new Cycle of Light influenced by the Constellation where it appears. We can take heart in our movement towards a a new beginning led by the Divine Feminine sign of Discernment and Compassionate Love. We are approaching a new Earth cycle of Light, Love, and Harmony.

6 Earth/CABAN (Cherokee, Heron/GUWI’SGUWI)
Galactic Tone 6: Six is responsiveness and the art of negotiation. It is the movement of volume through space that creates time. This energy in action is like the art of dance or a great athlete in motion. Six facilitates dynamic developments in all aspects of life.
Earth/Caban: Earth/Caban: Keeper of the garden of Earth. Profound synchronistic connections to Earth’s natural cycles and energies provide power of creations and memories of ancient wisdom. Earth persons help dispel bad intentions, habits and ideas. This makes them very good counselors and masters of all arts. Studious and intelligent, Earth persons endeavor to bring a flow of natural order to all aspects of life. Being connected to the dynamic forces of nature, Earth persons need much liberty to facilitate their expression of migration or the sending of long distance communications such as the whales, elephants, birds and many other creatures. Sometimes Earth’s delicate sensitivities are upset resulting in quakes of emotion even the display of volcanic temper.
Cherokee, Heron/GUWI’SGUWI: Sign of movement, of perpetual motion, recycling, regeneration; environmentalists fighting for the underdog. Heron is mentally alert, rational, yet opinionated; has a great faith in people and in the divine plan, holding the magic of ministry, medicine, marketing and matchmaking; healing abilities, especially with crystals; negotiation and mediation energy. Heron is symbolized by Deneb, located in the Northern Cross beside the Milky Way.
