MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
Tone 8 holds the Intention of the Justice of Harmony and Equity. The Maya count 12 hours of daylight, associated with the Tone numbers. Tone 8 is the Holy Day of the trecena, representing the Sun in its zenith, the Brightest Light of Illumination.
On Tone 7 the effort of our Spiritual Climb was measured for the Balancing of Above and the Below. Our measure lies in the Highest Intention we held in our heart.
Tone 8 is defined by the Maya as the number of “pure spirit.” A Divine Agency Knows our Heart and will Intervene with Divine Justice. The Divine Justice for Faith is Believing.
Seed/KAN is exalted in Tone 8. Today begins the Transformation phase of the trecena. Seed/KAN guides a Transformation of personal Identity. A new Seed of our Self is Fired by the Creator with a Spark of Divine Consciousness. In our harvest cycle of the Tzolk’in round, our buds are beginning to appear where flowers will bloom. The buds appearing relate to our first Consciousness that we will bear the Fruit of Spirit, holding the Seed of our Creation.
The Cherokee Day Sign is the Dragon, symbolizing the Divine Spark within the Seed. The Dragon has been a symbol of Enlightenment and Illumination down through history. Seed/KAN relates to all the faculties, forces, and Miracles that are all wrapped up in a Seed. We have created a new Vision of our Self, in Oneness with the Whole of Creation. We are a Child of the Supreme Creator, and a Child of Mother Earth, given sovereignty over the realm of physicality.
The Earth/CABAN trecena has guided us to hold Faith in the sovereignty of the world we intend to live in. We’re led to hold Faith in all the Love we can draw from Mother Earth, and called to Love her back. We were inspired to Dream we hold all the Power to Create through the Love we could share with each other.
The indigenous paths are taught from childhood their connection to Mother Earth and the Whole of the Natural World. It seems odd what little teaching we get of Mother Earth, given she was the Creator’s Gift to Human. It also seems odd that the “original sin” was born of Curiosity for Knowledge.
Given Intelligence, Human is dangerous without Consciousness. Perhaps we were cast out of a garden of innocence, where we had no blame or responsibility for the ways of the world. Now we Must Save our Self, through the Balance of Unconditional Love.
Seed/KAN brings the Light of Knowing the Power of the Spark within our Self. We will be Transformed by the Truth.
The “pure spirit” of the Creator is a Lightning Force. We were created an Imperishable Seed. Seed/KAN embodies all the elements of creation, representing family, sexual activity and the magic of germination. The Design that holds its Integrity was created by “pure spirit.”
Seed/KAN can Transform our Faith in the Integrity of our Design for the new life we Dreamed to Create. The budding means we will have the evidence in the realm of physicality of a process that always begins within.
The “way” of the Seed is to be a networker that gathers what is needed. A Seed has the power to free itself from entanglements and strives to free itself from the debts or oppressive patterns of the past. Seed is said to be able to draw abundance, as if casting a net.
Just as a seed works it’s way through the darkness, KAN will guide us to leave the darkness behind and reach for the Light of a Divine Agency. We draw the Power of the Supreme Creator, when we are humbled to ask for Divine Help. Fired by Spirit, today we can Know our own Potential and Possibility. The Elders always say, “There are many ways to accomplish the same thing.”
Seed reminds us that the Earth is our foundation. The environment we cultivate in our everyday place has a direct influence on our ability to grow. Seed asks us to look at our daily habits of living. We must nourish both the Body and the Spirit.
Through an effort from Above, we are given the gift of seeing clearly what is needed, and empowered with a Divine Intention to clear our own way. On the Day of Divine Justice, we are given the Power to break free.
“Seeing Clearly” means we can look at the facts apart from the influence of our emotions. We can remember that Wisdom is drawn from a place of forgiveness. This is not a day to beat our selves up for everything we see that needs to be corrected.
To all my relations, may we have the Courage to look within to a Truth about our Self that can free us from Fear. May our Faith be transformed to Believing in the Divine Spark within our Self. May we Know that our greatest challenges is just Humility. When we remember our Power is Down on our knees, we’ll find ourselves in the Full Light of the Creator. May we feel the Power within our Self to draw what is needed, and remember that prayers are always answered when we ask for Intervention to fulfill the Divine Will of the Creator. May we discover the abundance of Spirit within our Self, and Clearly See and Acknowledge that the hard work of Creation is paying off.

THE JAGUAR’S MAGIC OF GRATITUDE:
I’m grateful that the Creator knows me better than I know myself, and knows exactly what is needed. I’m grateful that the Creator intends for me to Believe in the manifestation of Divine Justice.

8 Seed/KAN (Cherokee, Dragon Ukte’na)
Galactic Tone 8: Harmony and balance; weighing evidence to reach a balance of justice. The power of organization demonstrated in the statement, “as above, so below”; from simplicity to infinity
Seed/KAN: Family, sexual activity and the magic of germination are the characteristics of this sun sign. Natural net workers, Seed people strive to free themselves and others from debt or oppressive patterns of the past. Abundance is gathered by Seeds as if with a cast net. Seed persons are public defenders who work toward uniting community by discovering hidden traps and secret influences of others. To generate true abundance, Seed must learn to appreciate all gifts and lessons received and conduct profound investigations into its self. In the absence of gratefulness and the courage to face oneself, Seed finds itself in less than less fertile environments.
Cherokee, Dragon Ukte’na: The Sky constellation Draco represents this sign. Dragon represents Matriarchy, the Great Mother Figure. Dragon is the Corn Spirit, the dual personality of both Corn Mother and Corn Maiden. This Sign is fertility and procreation, generation to generation.

UPDATE ON A LIFE DREAM:
On 4 Sun/AHAU I was able to make the reservations for the trip, arriving on October 28 as I had hoped to be there to celebrate Ian Lungold’s Mayan birthday, 12 Sun/AHAU, on October 31st along with the observance of the Day of the Dead. It felt important to the information I would share in my book. I’m grateful to be part of such a flow of Love, more necessary that money, for the realization of my dream. You are already the blessing of just being here. (But you could help me spread the word.) much love, in lak’ech, Debra https://www.gofundme.com/life-dream-a-pilgrimage-of-spirit
