THE TRECENA OF NIGHT/AKBAL
MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
On Tone 3 we wake to the Dawn of a new Creation. Holding the Intention of Movement, we bring a new Vibration to Life. Movement is the first Sign of Life. When the Creator spoke the Breath of the Creation, the Earth moved to Create Time.
Serpent/CHICCHAN moves the Earth in Human Being. CHICCHAN is the very Source for Knowing and the Power of ALL our Gifts of Knowing. CHICCHAN is the Spark that Lights the Fuse. CHICCHAN is the symbol of “Lightning in the Blood.”
The Most Divine thing we can Know about our Self is a Communion between all Human Hearts. We learned we were connected in a Heavenly way by the Element of Air. CHICCHAN reveals the Fire that connect our Human Hearts.
The Serpent is another Dragon who offers the “eyes” to Know and See Clearly. A snake Sees Vibration, it feels what is True through Mother Earth. CHICCHAN connects Feelings as a Source of Divine Discernment.
On 3 Serpent/CHICCHAN we will Know be Urged to Do. CHICCHAN holds the Element of Fire. We are transformed by a Fire of Knowing. A Fire will move us for the Sake of Love from the Heart, like the Wind moved our thoughts.
Serpent/CHICCHAN resides in the East, the place of every Dawning. Today we can imagine the most beautiful Dawning of All. A Supreme Creator Dreamed we would someday Know to Ask. CHICCHAN holds the sense of Vibration to feel the Love from another Heart. CHICCHAN is the electricity of Love that grabs our heart and sends a rush of blood through our veins that sets hair on end, sends chills up our spin, leaves us with goosebumps. CHICCHAN is a Divine Witness of Spirit.
Through CHICCHAN we tap into our intuition, telepathy, clairvoyance, empathy, and the Heart’s Compassion. CHICCHAN always strikes out of a corner to make its presence Known.
The Mayan story of Creation shares that 3 attempts were made to Create a Divine Human Being. The first was made of mud, which could express itself, but didn’t have the Consciousness of thoughts. The second was wood. They were able to function, but had no soul to Honor the Gods. In the 3rd attempt, human was made from the Maize. These humans are made of white and yellow maize dough and the blue and red blood of the gods. Through the Blood, Human could speak from the Heart to Honor the Gods Above. Through the Heart e would share the Communion of Knowing all things Divine.
CHICCHAN is the Serpent associated with Kulkulkan/Quetzalcoatl, the Feathered Serpent. El Castillo, the calendar pyramid at Chichen Itza is a Temple to Kulkulkan, and the place the Light of the Serpent travels down the stairs on the Equinox.
CHICCHAN holds the Most Dynamic Force for Movement and Direction. CHICCHAN calls us to Move on our Gut Instincts. With CHICCHAN, we’ll feel the urge to take action and Express Our Self.
AKBAL reminds us… this is still the Dream to manifest the Creation in Spirit. We will Ascend on 13 Eagle/MEN clearly seeing the Future Dream within our Grasp. This is still the Dream for a Human experience of it that follows. As a Dream we can Choose to believe ANYTHING. We always discern Dreams by their Signs and Symbols.
To all my relations, may we speak the Sacred “Te” in our Silent Prayers. May we share a Communion Heart-to-Heart with the Creator. May we Be Atoned by Offering our Self to a Divine Force of Movement and believe what we Feel we must do. May we Acknowledge the Divinity of the Body that holds the Fire of Life and Consciousness. May we look for the Symbols of our Dreams.
in lak’ech, I am another you
Debra, Jaguar Woman/9 Eagle/MEN
[Correction: 1 AKBAL was mis-stated as 3 Sotz’; actually 10 Sotz’. Today is 13 Sotz’.]
SACRED OBJECTS: As a Day guided by physicality, we might choose something to have and hold. My most Sacred Objects were things I held during Vision Quest and Sacred Ceremony. They were sacred for Being there and something to hold close to remember for the Human journey. It’s a Birthday Gift to the Divine Newborn of our Dreams.
Traditional ways of Vision Quest are offered for your consideration on the Vision Quest Ceremony page. Every ceremony is offered to Your way. Everything we do can be part of a sacred ceremony when the intention for the TIme is marked for a Divine Communion.

3 Serpent/CHICCHAN (Cherokee, Serpent/Do’tsi VK)
Galactic Tone 3: Action. Three is basic movement and communication, which begins as a vibration. Three energy is very eloquent in all types of self-expression. Communication is how Three establishes a point of agreement between any point “A” and any point “B”. Three persons are rhythmic to the core and are often restless, as motion is their nature. By working closely with the energy of Three, any person becomes more able to predict motions of all kinds.
Serpent/CHICCHAN: Movement and the creation of time. Sensual and dramatic, this sun sign embodies intense instinctual wisdom and creates a connection from Earth bound, to Heavenly aspirations. By sincere service to others, Serpent opens and expands its heart. Serpent aligns authority and the truth to bring justice that is quick and sure. Serpents are very adaptable, even fluid until trapped in a corner, and then they explode. Serpents, venomous temper poisons itself as well as others by creating resentful, suppressive and even destructive attitudes.
Cherokee, Serpent/DO’TSI VK: Serpent’s symbol is Constellation Serpens. Serpent people are Sky people who come to earth periodically as Educators. As above-So below, on Earth the Serpent is the roots of the tree of knowledge. Serpent power is vital energy, the moving force, the instinct and desire for creativity, the trigger that sets off the action. It lights the fuse that magnifies and explodes the life force itself. Knowledge, combining science, technology and psychology, plus spirituality are seeded on the planet.

By providing the original text, I hope to offer a way to see what inspired my thoughts and by including all the aspects – allow for something more to inspire you. Mayan descriptions are those written by Ian Lungold. Cherokee descriptions came from multiple sources.
