The Hasidic expression, “The King is in the field” [Hamelech ba’sadeh], is often used when describing the month of Elul, a month of repentance and mercy in which there is extra closeness between God and His creations.
VISION QUEST: A Flight to the Future
THE TRECENA OF JAGUAR/IX: A JOURNEY TO THE LIGHT
MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
2 Eagle/MEN, Cherokee, Eagle/UWO’HATLI, Destiny Kin 15, Position 15

Greetings Beloved Kin,
To be, or not to be, that is the question:
Whether ’tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles
And by opposing end them. ~ William Shakespeare, Hamlet
That was Hamlet’s question when he was faced with 2 options. He was unfairly charged with crimes that could lead to his death. The only other option he could see was to rise against the powers that be, which would be an act punishable by death.
Tone 2 feels like that. Tone 1 offered Divine Inspiration. That was the Creator’s first offering for a Divine Conversation. Tone 2 is the 1st Question raised in Human’s mind as our Reply. First we get excited, then we question our own strength and the will to carry it out. We face our inner-demons that impose doubts and fears. Call it out, and See it for what it is. (It doesn’t belong in the circle of our Intended thoughts.)
Every trecena starts out from the energy of inertia. It takes 3 days to set the Fibonacci sequence of the Creator’s Divine Design. In the measure of Time, that’s Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow.
Eagle/MEN guides us to keep our eye on the prize and don’t look back. Take a good hard look at what you’re trying to accomplish and claim what it means to the One Above. The Eagle helps us see the end is within our grasp.
We have to look to see the future. The best place to look first is to the Divine Truth of the Word. Then, our mind will be opened to prepare for what we’ll need to do.
By the Truth of our Human limitations, every climb will first appear to be an impossible challenge. Blow it off with a breath of prayer. We don’t have to make it harder than it has to be. God made His Highest Dream the Easiest things we can do.
Symbol 15:15
Eagle/MEN is Destiny Kin 15 in Position 15. 5 is the symbol of Empowerment and the value of a Hand. The symbol is repeated 3 Times Above and 3 Times Below. 15:15 is 2 Hands working together, each one empowered by an Intention in Divine Trinity. We only have to Call upon a Hand Above for a Divine Cause to complete our end.
The Future Lies Within Our Grasp
The Jaguar/IX trecena is guided by the Light and Power of the Holy Spirit that’s seated within the Heart and Mind of our Seed for a New Life. We can call upon the Holy Spirit as our Higher Self to do everything that needs to be done in God’s Perfect Way. Through an Intention to Obey, we can take it as it comes, even if it doesn’t look like we think things should be in the moment. We are starting out without a clue for what God can do.
The King is in the Field. God wants to show us how little we have to reach to accomplish a Major Leap of Faith.
One small step will lead us to another. The Power of the month of Elul is that the Holy Spirit is close to us in a more accessible way.
A teaching by Rabbi Mordecai Aaron Griffin on YouTube, “Elul and the 40 Days of Teshuvah: The King is in the Field,” explains the Power of this Time. His 22-minute video offers a Light for understanding. A key take-away for me was that God will come running to claim us when we reach for something Higher, no matter how small the step may appear to be. Our Seed is breaking Holy Ground.
You’ve probably seen the Truth for yourself that small steps can be exponentially powerful when they lead to another. I consider myself to be severely limited in my ability to meditate in silence. I remember times when I first started physically going to an altar when I needed help from Above. I was too busy for 5 minutes. But, when I went for 5 minutes, I would end up spending 15 minutes and my troubles were washed away. When God runs to us, we’ll want to stay. My limitations inspired my mission to share that if I can, anyone can. It’s clear I’m a slow learner if my big breakthrough didn’t come until I was 72. (There’s a Divine Provision for everything and God will redeem the Time it takes to know.)
The Easy thing we’re offered by Spirit (Jaguar/IX) is to call upon the Holy Spirit and ask our Higher Self to Will the Will of our Lower Self. The Holy Spirit can turn it into our Human Will. We have to Ask to give permission when we are sacrificing our Sacred Right of Choice.
That’s the easy answer when we think we’ve hit a brick wall. The Holy Spirit knows every Good and Perfect prayer for everyone’s highest end.
BLESS THE LORD, OH MY SOUL! PRAISE HIS HOLY NAME.
Psalm 103 – Song of David
1 Praise the Lord, my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
2 Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits—
3 who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
5 who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
God’s Greatest Commandment is to Love the Lord with all our Heart, Mind, and Soul; and, “like the first” to Love one another as we Love our Self. When I read that verse I focus on the challenging part – loving one another and loving myself. I take for granted that God is covered. I don’t want to take God for granted anymore. I want to be asking more questions about His Divine Justice, than my own. He offers the order in the Word, but God doesn’t press the point. It has to be Our Choice to See and to Follow. That’s the beauty of the Creator’s Unconditional Love. So when we do take that step, He’ll be cheering us on. The Elders say that all things want to be Seen and Acknowledged.
It doesn’t take 5 minutes to say “Bless the Lord, Oh my Soul” and to Call upon the Holy Spirit. That’s going to be my strategy when I find myself in a “dead space.” There will be times that feel that way. We can plan for it.
I’m using this Time to tie up loose ends around the house and plan for the future. It’s easy to food/water fast when you’re sharing the experience in a Dance and someone else is leading the way. I’ve decided to “fast” by making healthy choices from living foods and fruits and vegetables, and skipping processed foods. I can make cookies from an oatmeal and applesauce recipe, and use Honey or Maple Syrup as my sweetener. I’m excited to clean out the refrigerator and stock up with healthy “fast food.” Another addition I’m going to ADD is some herbal tea. I was going to share my grocery list, but I’ll settle for sharing ONE new thing I’m going to try – Chayote Squash. It’s supposed to have a mild flavor like a cross between cucumber and apple with a crunch similar to Jicama root. And it’s packed with anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals, and anti-inflammatory agents. I’ll ask the Holy Spirit to pray over everything at once to cover the times I’m might forget.
Another idea relates to my personal journal of the experience. I can receive my best inspiration when I lay my head on the pillow at night, just after I get comfortable. I repeat it over and over so I’ll remember later when I get up and then sometimes I forget. I’m dedicating a notepad for bullet point ideas that I can carry anywhere. And, instead of sleeping through it, I’ll have a pen and paper handy next to the bed.
Another small thing we can do for one another… before we say, Amen, we can stop and think of all of us standing together in that same field and designate our Amen as an agreement with everyone’s prayers.
God’s offering in exchange will be Living Water that blesses us back, Heart, Mind, Body and Soul.
We can plan for the future AND let tomorrow take care of itself.
My plan for the journal on JaguarSpirit.com is to stick to the basics. There’s power in the Rabbit trails the Creator leads us on, as part of the order of our own thoughts. I’m going to resist my analytical side that thinks everything needs a check list, after today. (At least that’s the plan.) It means more when we search to find something new. Some of my best inspiration in the beginning came from looking up a word I already knew. The more we do for our self, the more we’ll experience the credit in the end was our own hand reaching, and the Highest One reaching back. How could we possibly fail like that?
Holy Spirit – I Call on you now to bless all the different ways we’ll reach to the King. Thank the Lord, oh my Soul that I can call on you for everything we’re all praying to accomplish in the end.
(in agreement with the whole)
AMEN, AMEN, AMEN
So shall it be.
love, in lak’ech, i am another you
Debra, 9 Eagle/MEN
PS. Saint James the Greater, near kinsman to Jesus Christ, reminds us that there may be one affliction that is never healed. His answer was that God trusts us to carry on anyway. Sometimes the limitation we never overcome can be the one failure that makes us relatable to someone else with the same affliction, and claimed it as the impossible reason they will never be enough. All things will be healed when we reach the distant shore. St. Jude teaches us to Believe in Miracles.
THE JAGUAR’S “EARTH MAGIC” OF GRATITUDE:
I’m grateful how good and perfect God is in all His ways.
It is said that Human can reach enlightenment in 108 breaths. 108 is the product of 12 x 9.
In yoga, the number 108 refers to spiritual completion. Malas used for japa (silent repetition of a mantra) are composed of 108 beads – with an additional “meru” bead, which when reached, prompts the practitioner to count the mala beads in reverse order. (Source: Himalayan Yoga Institute)
Renowned mathematicians of Vedic culture viewed 108 as a number of the wholeness of existence. This number also connects the Sun, Moon, and Earth: The average distance of the Sun and the Moon to Earth is 108 times their respective diameters. (Source: YogaJournal)

Galactic Tone 2: Mysterious as the question ‘to be or not to be?” Two is the recognition of the separation of self from all else and the desire to be rejoined. Walking a balance while making choices of all kinds, light/dark, male/female, good/bad, Yin/Yang, is the energy of this number. Experiencing the differences between one and another is the use and purpose of this number.
Eagle/MEN: Intermediary between Heaven and Earth. Due to the Eagles superior point of view and keen intelligence, they achieve material abundance and good fortune. A messenger gifted with patience and a deep sense of value, Eagle brings hope and trust on the wings of Spirit. Eagle persons are very detail oriented and technically inclined. Compassionate service to others sustains prosperity for Eagle personas as the flapping of wings would sustain their bird brothers. If Eagle becomes viciously competitive or possessive, greed and jealousy cause a fall from the heights. Eagles, being blessed with freedom of movement, should be aware of escapism. Eagles may be tempted to just fly away from troubles by using indulgences.
A GOOD DAY TO: Rise to a Higher Perspective
Cherokee, Eagle/UWO’HATLI: Eagle’s symbol is Mars the Spirit Warrior. He is a minion of Grandfather Moon. Eagles were the warrior society, the braves the protectors of the nation. Women were included. There was no discrimination which is reflected in the language: third person singular is divided into animate, human and animate, not human instead of he and she. The energy of high hopes and anticipations, dreams and visions, cosmic consciousness and commitment. On earth, a provider of excellence, leader, husbandry, care-taking of others, financial security and inheritance.
