SPACEWEATHER: Solar Bonfire and Farside View from Mars

The Fire of Life

SPACEWEATHER.COM NEWS: 11/28/2025

A BONFIRE OF HYDROGEN: There is no combustion on the sun. Even so, on Nov. 25th, amateur astronomer Dave Wilson of Inverness, Scotland, saw a tremendous bonfire:

“I only had time to record 22 minutes of this prominence, but it still looked pretty awesome to me,” says Wilson.

Although this looks like fire, it is not. The towering ‘flame’ is actually made of hydrogen and magnetism, heated by fusion deep inside the body of the sun. There’s not enough water on Earth to put it out. Indeed, it is 5 times taller than our entire planet.

Correction: It *was* 5 times taller. It’s gone now. The twisting motion Wilson captured in his movie caused magnetic fields within the ‘bonfire’ to wind up, reconnect, and explode:

NOTE: The Source of the explosion has yet to be seen in Earth’s full view.

Coronagraphs onboard the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) captured the jet-like eruption on Nov. 27th. The dense plume would cause a strong geomagnetic storm if it hit Earth. However, it sailed harmlessly above the ecliptic plane (the plane of the planets). No storms will result.

EARTH IS EXITING THE SOLAR WIND STREAM: After three days blowing faster than 700 km/s, the solar wind is slowing down. Intermittent G1-class geomagnetic storms registered on Nov. 25-27 will now subside, setting the stage for a quiet weekend. No auroras are in the forecast.

Yesterday’s Spaceweather News from the Farside: Behemoth Sunspot 15 x the Earth’s Diameter

THE SUNSPOT REPORT FROM MARS: For the next two months, NASA’s Perseverance rover will have an extra job–solar astronomer. Mars is passing behind the sun, and this gives the rover a view of the sun’s farside, allowing it to monitor sunspots we cannot see from Earth. Here is the latest image from Jezero Crater on Nov. 25th:

The Farside Behemoth photographed on November 25 has been turning for 3 Days and is only beginning to come into Earth’s view.

Approximately once a day, Perseverance looks at the sun using its Mastcam-Z (stereo mast-mounted camera). It does this to assess the amount of dust in the air–an important factor in martian weather forecasting. Seeing sunspots is a bonus.

Mastcam-Z isn’t designed for solar observations. It can only put 90 pixels across the solar disk. This means sunspots have to be big to show up.

This week there is a very large sunspot indeed. Perseverance’s images reveal a farside behemoth about 15 Earth-diameters wide. This sunspot will turn toward Earth next week, potentially bringing an increase in solar activity.

Mars will be passing behind the sun in December 2025 and January 2026. Stay tuned for more sunspot reports from the Red Planet!

A Preview of What’s Around the Corner

The bonfire on the Eastern rim will turn to face Earth in the Days to come.

Mayan Calendar Time and Synchronicity

Wisdom/CIB represents an application of Truth. The Past is the “sum of the whole” experience we’ve known before. The future will always repeat itself or it will change, based on the choices of today. True wisdom is accepting that we never know what Humans will do, but we can always depend on God to turn it to a divine purpose in the end.

Tone 10 is the Day of manifestation. We can only create the future that aligns with God’s Will. It’s not up to us to imagine the end. The Truth of tomorrow is revealed by the One who sees both sides in Harmony and Equity. God’s Witness of the Truth from the beginning to the end, is what the Truth shall always be.

Give thanks that God knows everything, and is the Divine Father that brings all Truth to Light. God makes his presence known on 10 Serpent/CHICCHAN. The Hand of God is upon us and we are sheltered under his wing. God is the Source of Truth and the Only One who never fails us. In the 11th uinal, we’re offered the Eyes to See by turning to the Highest Authority of Truth and Love. God is working behind the scenes.

10 Serpent/CHICCHAN (Cherokee, Serpent/DO’TSI) – Day 10 of 13 of the 1 Wisdom/CIB trecena

Descriptions by Ian Xel Lungold (12 Sun/AHAU), wisdom and FREE Tzolk’in calculator preserved on MayanMajix.com

Galactic Tone 10: Manifestation. What were once intentions or ideas, hopes or fears become physically present with the energy of Ten. What is focused upon with attention and intention becomes real with Ten. Ten is a powerful energy that carries a great responsibility.

Serpent/CHICCHAN: Movement and the creation of time. Sensual and dramatic, this sun sign embodies intense instinctual wisdom and creates a connection from Earth bound, to Heavenly aspirations. By sincere service to others, Serpent opens and expands its heart. Serpent aligns authority and the truth to bring justice that is quick and sure. Serpents are very adaptable, even fluid until trapped in a corner, and then they explode. Serpents, venomous temper poisons itself as well as others by creating resentful, suppressive and even destructive attitudes.

A GOOD DAY TO: Ask for fluidity and flexibility.

Cherokee, Serpent/DO’TSI: Serpent’s symbol is Constellation Serpens. Serpent people are Sky people who come to earth periodically as Educators. As above-So below, on Earth the Serpent is the roots of the tree of knowledge. Serpent power is vital energy, the moving force, the instinct and desire for creativity, the trigger that sets off the action. It lights the fuse that magnifies and explodes the life force itself. Knowledge, combining science, technology and psychology, plus spirituality are seeded on the planet.
