SPACEWEATHER: Solstice Auroras, High Winds, and Sun Pillar

Winter solstice auroras, Taken by Sebastian Sainio on December 22, 2025 @ Raippaluoto, Finland

Winds Above and Below

Winds have blown leaves back into my freshly cleared front yard. And, the Christmas forecast for SE Kansas is a record-breaking 77°F (25°C). White Christmas is the norm.

Solar Winds blowing faster than 750 km/s (1.7 million mph) are sparking Solstice auroras. After the New Moon, we could have clear dark skies if the Wind blows the clouds away.

SOLSTICE GEOMAGNETIC STORM: The longest night of the year did not go to waste. In Finland, the sky filled with auroras for so many hours that the display spilled from Dec. 21st to 22nd. Sebastian Sainio sends this self-portrait from the island of Raippaluoto:

“The elevated solar wind put on a good show,” says Sainio. “I took this picture of myself standing on a quiet road admiring the auroras at around 1am local time.”

The auroras appeared when Earth’s magnetic field connected to the sun’s. (In space weather jargon, we say “BsubZ tipped south.”) This connection gave the solar wind unimpeded access to our planet’s magnetosphere, coloring the Arctic sky like an electron beam in an old-fashioned picture tube.

THE SOLAR WIND IS BLOWING VERY FAST: Earth has entered a stream of solar wind flowing from a hole in the sun’s atmosphere. The gaseous material is blowing faster than 750 km/s (1.7 million mph) and sparking G1-class geomagnetic storms on Dec. 22nd.

The gaping coronal hole is the source of the High Speed Solar Winds. The Dark areas are the place where the Light was cast off to the Winds in Earth’s direction.

SUVI is the Solar UltraViolet Imager telescope mounted on the 19th satellite of NOAA’s Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellites (GOES). The Parker Probe satellite circumvented the Sun for closer images, though the Big Bear Solar Observatory in Big Bear Valley, CA captures clearer images than any satellite telescope in space.

Winds Below: SE Kansas used to be the heart of “tornado valley”, cold snowy winters, flooding and thunderstorms. Currents have shifted East and this has become a safety zone just West of the line of fire.

Mayan Calendar Time and Synchronicity

The Year and Trecena of 1 Wind/IK raises the Power of the Truth to change the landscape of our lives. Compared to a hurricane, IK creates chaos out of an existing order to empower change. Chaos is the Sign of Change in Progress. The extremes are the extreme.

1 Wind/IK represents the Power of an Act of God and the Word of Truth. The Wind is the Breath of Life and Breath of Spirit. We are receiving a major dose of the Sun’s Light at accelerated speeds. Be kind to yourself. God is making a way for a New Light to be born within.

John 3:8 (KJV)
“The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.”

The Mayan calendar forecasts a “Windy Christmas.”

This trecena is dedicated to Minisa Crumbo Halsey, 1 Wind/IK.

8 Offering/MULUC (Cherokee, The River/YUN’WI GUNNAHI’TA) – Day 8 of 13 of the 1 Wind/IK trecena

Descriptions by Ian Xel Lungold (12 Sun/AHAU), wisdom and Free Tzolk’in calculator preserved on MayanMajix.com

Galactic Tone 8: Justice. Harmony and balance are the intent of Eight. Eights carefully weigh all evidence to reach a balance of justice. Eight is the power of organization demonstrated in the statement, “As above, so below”. From simplicity to infinity, the energy of Eight organizes all levels of creation. Some Eights are “Neat Freaks”.

Offering/MULUC: Also known as the sign of water. Ceremonially, Maya use water as an offering in baptisms and purifications. These ceremonies are done to bring about a collective strength, adaptability and harmony. In sincere appreciation, Offering people gladly give more than they ask for themselves. Offering persons are dynamic communicators with great intelligence making them excellent employers. Like a shaken vessel of water, Offering people regain equilibrium quickly. Also like a body of water, there may be deep undercurrents of emotion and hidden dangers. Others perceive these as hidden agendas in offering people and so extend them little trust and may even slap blame on them.

Cherokee, The River/YUN’WI GUNNAHI’TA:  The River is symbolized by The Milky Way, the Gihli’Utsun’stanun’yi “Where the Dog Ran” to gather the souls for Heaven.  The River is the minion for Grandfather Moon.  Long Man is the personification of the River stretching from the mountains to the lowlands, speaking to those who can understand.  People of this sign find “sermons in the stones” and good in everything.  These souls march to a different drummer, driven by inner volcanic forces.  The River is the “Fountain of Life” and represents the fluid of the cosmos to fluids in the body, with the energy to clear all karmic debts, personally and on a mass level with fluidity and grace.  The Moon controls our fluid cycle, to clear and understand emotional issues.  When you take this step to clear the emotional body, then you are ready for transformational energies at the next level.  As humans, our actions are ruled by our emotions, the key is to understand the connection and honor the emotions.
