Family Dynamics: The Eagles at Big Bear Valley

The Same Conditions: Different Results

After watching two families raised by Jackie and Shadow, it’s interesting to see how the same set of conditions can produce different results, depending on unknown circumstances and personal differences in the ways we adapt to change.

Sunny and Gizmo, the first family I observed, was made of two sisters who shared a close bond. They spent less time at home after they fledged. One waiting on the other to the day they could soar together before they left home for good.

Sandy and Luna are sister and brother (respectively). Sandy extended a lot of courtesy to her younger brother who tended to pester and was inclined to take the first food all for himself. Luna accidently knocked Sandy out of the nest, and spent a lonely night without her before he took flight.

Unlike the other two, they are sticking together close to the nest as their homebase for exploring Jackie and Shadow’s favorite perches in the neighborhood. They appreciate home delivery services. Overall, Jackie and Shadow had an easier time with them. Jackie didn’t have to spend a week buried in snow. She looked worse for wear by the time Sunny and Gizmo fledged. As before, Shadow appeared well-groomed in his black and white tuxedo.

The Post and Update from Friends of Big Bear Valley

Here a Fish, There a Fish…

Sandy spent the night alone in the nest tree and headed out at first light to join Luna on the lookout snag. This has become a favored perch for both of them as it is with mom and dad as well.
While they were perching and trying to relax, a bold subadult bald eagle flew by a bit too close! Sandy and Luna showed it who was boss of this territory, stretching their wings out and tracking it in the distance.

Later, as Sandy was perched in view of the nest, she must have seen Shadow fly by with a fish in talons, she squeed and then took off, claiming the fish and dad’s leg in the process.

Shadow was seen looking so handsome atop the headless tree and then took a flight over to another perch to take a rest from fishing.

Not much of a break, Shadow showed up to the nest with Sandy awaiting his arrival. This time she really grabbed onto Shadow’s ankle and wouldn’t let go! Once Shadow was out on the front porch, he looked down, maybe checking if both feet were still intact.
This behavior is quite common with eaglets of Sandy and Luna’s age. Sandy is now 96 days old and Luna 95 days old.

Shadow also delivered a fish to Luna while he was out on a limb. It looked a bit difficult, but Luna handled it well, got the entire fish down without losing a drop and had a nice full crop!

A bit later Shadow delivered a fish to Sandy on a branch. She was doing really well, but that slippery fish started getting away and eventually dropped to the forest floor. Sandy didn’t miss a beat; she kept on eating the few morsels she had left. Shadow on the other hand, couldn’t believe it! This wasn’t the first time… or second time… not even the third time and likely it won’t be the last time!

Jackie was seen yesterday and heard today, it seems she is keeping her distance and getting some much-needed rest. She just might have started her summer vacation early!

This weekend is Outdoor Adventure Days, it is sure to be a great time, and you might even catch a glimpse of our famous eagle family, hope you can join us!

THE TRECENA OF EARTH/CABAN: THE CLARION CALL TO  OUR HEART

The “Tzolk’in Field Guide” is my gift to download that includes the Count of Days with the aspects for each Destiny Kin and highlights for a personal practice with each trecena. It’s designed as a companion for daily practice.

It only takes 13 days to see how Faith is always raised to Knowing the Truth of Answered Prayers. You only have to track your thoughts. Record the matters on your mind in a journal to see how your perspective is changed by a Divine Order of Thoughts.

Visit the 13-Day Trecena Guide. to download a free copy. Volume 1 covers the first two seasons of the Tzolk’in, and Volume 2 covers the 3rd and 4th to the end of the Tzolk’in round.

Earth/CABAN is the 3rd trecena in the 3rd Season. The details are found in Volume 2.

NOTE: Tone 1 reflects the 1st Light of Divine Inspiration as the “legend” of this chapter of Time.

13 Offering/Muluc (Cherokee, The River, Yun’wi Gunnahi’ta) –  Ascension, Day 13 of the 1 Earth/CABAN trecena

Descriptions by Ian Xel Lungold (12 Sun/AHAU), wisdom and FREE Tzolk’in Calculator preserved on MayanMajix.com

Galactic Tone 13: Ascension: Thirteen ssists us to go to the next higher step, propels us to try something new or to try again. Thirteen energy takes us over the next mountain just to see what is there. Thirteen carries the last success to the newest effort. Thirteen is a number associated with the Ascended Masters, creation, expansion, and manifestation.

Offering/MULUC: The sign of water. Ceremonially, Maya use water as an offering in baptisms and purifications, done to bring about a collective strength, adaptability and harmony. Fluid of the cosmos to fluids in the body, Muluc offers the energy to clear all karmic debts, personally, and on a mass level with fluid and grace. Muluc is also associated with the Moon and the emotional body.

A GOOD DAY TO: Offer Appreciation for ALL of Creation.

Cherokee, The River/YUN’WI GUNNAHI’TA:  The River is symbolized by The Milky Way, the Gihli’Utsun’stanun’yi “Where the Dog Ran” to gather the souls for Heaven.  The River is the minion for Grandfather Moon.  Long Man is the personification of the River stretching from the mountains to the lowlands, speaking to those who can understand.  People of this sign find “sermons in the stones” and good in everything.  These souls march to a different drummer, driven by inner volcanic forces.  The Moon controls our fluid cycle, to clear and understand emotional issues.  When you take this step to clear the emotional body, then you are ready for transformational energies at the next level.  As humans, our actions are ruled by our emotions, the key is to understand the connection and honor the emotions.

By providing the original text, I hope to offer a way to see what inspired my thoughts and by including all the aspects – allow for something more to inspire you. Mayan descriptions are those written by Ian Lungold. Cherokee descriptions came from multiple sources.
