This morning’s alert is also updated with the image of the M8.1-Class Solar Flare from Solar Flare Alert 3. It was produced from the same newly-named Sunspot 4413 emerging from the Eastern Limb. We’ll have to wait and see if the new M3-Class Solar Flare was also produced by emerging Sunspot 4413.

SOLAR FLARE ALERT 3: Earth-orbiting satellites have just detected a M8.1 class solar flare at 20-Aug-2026 at 11:42:00 UTC (6:42:00 AM CDT). More information follows by email. An R2 (moderate) radio blackout is possible on the sunlit side of Earth.
UPDATED:
We now have images of today’s M8.1-class solar flare (11:42 UTC). It erupted from sunspot 4513 at solar coordinates N5E88. That is right at the Sun’s limb.
What this means: This flare came from newly-numbered sunspot 4513. It produced a CME that will probably miss. However, future explosions might not miss because the sunspot is turning toward Earth.

SOLAR FLARE ALERT 1: Earth-orbiting satellites have just detected a M1.0 class solar flare at 19-Aug-2026 at 18:51:00 UTC (1:51 PM CDT). An R1 (minor) radio blackout is possible on the sunlit side of Earth.
UPDATE—We now have images of today’s M1.0-class solar flare (18:51 UTC). It erupted from solar coordinates N2E85. That is right at the Sun’s limb. The flare site is directed almost entirely away from Earth. Spectacular to image, but not a threat to our geomagnetic field.
ACTIVE SUNSPOT: A new sunspot (AR4513) is emerging over the sun’s eastern limb. It appears to be relatively large and active. Yesterday, it emitted an M1-class solar flare, breaking a 1-week quiet spell on the sun.
Updates on the 2 most recent Solar Flares are still forthcoming that identify the Sunspot locations. Active Sunspot 4507 was reported with X-Class potential yesterday. If that is the source of the M-8.1 Class Flare it is residing in geoeffective Earth-directed position.
RED AURORAS OVER NEBRASKA: Storm chaser Dean Cosgrove was not looking for auroras when he drove across rural Nebraska on Aug. 17th. “I was after the lightning,” he says. Instead, his camera revealed a beautiful display of Northern Lights:

The most recent theory is that storms on Earth can trigger storms on the Sun. Dog/OC is the Brightest Star that sparkles too much to get a clear picture due to its distance and the Earth’s atmosphere.
Today’s USA headlines include an international debate regarding who has the most nuclear weapons. The month of the Hungry Ghosts is all about those who can never get enough of a good thing. We might expect more turbulent headlines in the trecena of Offering/MULUC that is said to stir up our emotions. The Aztec call the trecena of Water a time of “waging war over the stronghold of evil that uses our emotions and our ego in a battle to steal our Soul.” The Lord uses it as an opportunity to heal our wounds.

Galactic Tone 2: Mysterious as the question ‘to be or not to be?” Two is the recognition of the separation of self from all else and the desire to be rejoined. Walking a balance while making choices of all kinds, light/dark, male/female, good/bad, Yin/Yang, is the energy of this number. Experiencing the differences between one and another is the use and purpose of this number.
Dog/OC: Courageous, loyal and warm-hearted, very alert and valiant, people born of Dog are respected for their sense of justice and their protection. People born of the sun sign Dog are very sensual and know how to enjoy life. Playfulness and a good understanding of the basic human nature lead to prosperity for Dog. Dogs are good team players who love to travel and have a keen sense of their position in society. Dogs are ambitious and will take opportunities when they offer themselves, including infidelities. Cherokee, WOLF/KANA’TI: Wolf’s symbol is Sirius (Dog star) and Antares, one or the other always visible but never at the same time. Wolf is our brother, shares our very roots. All dogs are domesticated wolves, companionship and guidance. Connecting link between the worlds. One who inspires loyalty, diplomacy and sense of humor with unlimited potential. A teacher, healer, pathfinder and transformer. Sharp as obsidian, gentle as a lamb. Totem -Dog. Loyalty and faithfulness that survives beyond death. This was the first day of creation energy in this 4th world, sets the energy for love, loyalty and faithfulness on the 5200 year cycle. Heart chakra energy is involved so that we can move to the state of “unconditional love” with compassion. All sexual desire issues that are not in harmony will surface to be cleared.
