The Star Brighter than the Sun
Sirius is the brightest star in the night sky, appearing brighter than the Sun as seen from Earth. While the Sun is much closer and therefore has a higher apparent magnitude (brighter on the scale), Sirius has a much higher intrinsic luminosity (intrinsic brightness) and is about 25 times more luminous than our Sun.
Sirius holds legendary significance across many cultures, associated with the concept of a “star of our heart” due to its prominence and symbolic meaning. Ancient Egyptians linked it to the Nile’s flood and Greeks called it the “Dog Star”.
Sirius points the way “home” to the Orion nebula, the nearest Star Nursery located under Orion’s belt. By Mayan tradition, the Dog leads the way beyond the Milky Way, “the place the Dog ran,” gathering Souls to Heaven. The Dogs’ Way home is Unconditional Love. Holding Position 10, Dog/OC resides in the Peak Position of the uinal pyramid, as the Highest Order and defining characteristic of the Lord of our Creation.
