The 1st Chapter and 1st Verse of Psalms (GodIsWithUs@YouTube)
The Conversation of the Living Word
By Jewish tradition Psalm 1 is among the first 3 chapters that was given to recite on the 1sts Day of Elul. The Word was intended to engage a conversation about the Divine Truth. We aren’t intended to “recite words”, but to engage in a Divine Communion. When we don’t understand – when the words don’t hit their mark in a human conversation, we ask what they mean before we move on. The Words are written in a divine order, but a conversation returns in any order.
I haven’t been faithful to the Daily Intention. I failed within 3 days. So, I decided to start over from the beginning – and to read for comprehension. I found the clarity for understanding for the first time in the first verse.
We are blessed when we don’t turn to the ungodly for advice. Why would we expect to be heard by one who doesn’t have our best interests at heart? Sometimes we just feel a need to be heard. But we’re only truly seen and heard by the Lord. Few of us present in the moment to listen for “what it means”. The ungodly are likely to have an opinion about “our fault” before we share the story.
We also can’t expect to be blessed when we stand with sinners. They are most likely to encourage us to go along – so they won’t be alone in the midst of their own transgressions.
And who would choose to be the audience who takes a seat before one who is full of scorn for us? Why would we take a seat for that where we’re free to come and go? Those who intend to put us down show no signs of listening, even when we defend ourselves.
That’s the most I remember of the 9 extra Psalms I’ve read since the beginning of Elul. The one verse that I keep remembering from Psalm 27 is that God will bless us “in the land of the living”.
The Living Word is a conversation. When we engage in a Divine Communion, one verse is enough to accomplish the Creator’s end of Understanding. The Elders said that Human traditions are meant to be broken when we are seeking a Higher Way.
May we remember to turn to the Lord’s counsel when we have a question. We are told to keep company with the righteous if we want to stay on the path. We can walk away without defending our position, and to sit before the One who always sees us in our best light. We have God’s blessing if we choose to retreat in silence, with or without human validation.
Reading 3 Psalms a Day is a good tradition. But the Lord’s Intention was just to share Time in the presence of the One who knows us so well, and who is drawing us closer to the Truth of his Love. As children, we treasured the times our parents had a conversation with us, beyond just telling us what to do. Board games were always more fun when our parents played with us.

Galactic Tone 2: Mysterious as the question ‘to be or not to be?” Two is the recognition of the separation of self from all else and the desire to be rejoined. Walking a balance while making choices of all kinds, light/dark, male/female, good/bad, Yin/Yang, is the energy of this number. Experiencing the differences between one and another is the use and purpose of this number.
Dog/OC: Courageous, loyal and warm-hearted, very alert and valiant, people born of Dog are respected for their sense of justice and their protection. People born of the sun sign Dog are very sensual and know how to enjoy life. Playfulness and a good understanding of the basic human nature lead to prosperity for Dog. Dogs are good team players who love to travel and have a keen sense of their position in society. Dogs are ambitious and will take opportunities when they offer themselves, including infidelities. Dog persons share the nature of coyotes, spies, wolves and lawyers.
A GOOD DAY TO: Enjoy family and friends.
Cherokee, WOLF/KANA’TI: Wolf’s symbol is Sirius (Dog star) and Antares, one or the other always visible but never at the same time. Wolf is our brother, shares our very roots. All dogs are domesticated wolves, companionship and guidance. Connecting link between the worlds. One who inspires loyalty, diplomacy and sense of humor with unlimited potential. A teacher, healer, pathfinder and transformer. Sharp as obsidian, gentle as a lamb. Totem -Dog. Loyalty and faithfulness that survives beyond death. This was the first day of creation energy in this 4th world, sets the energy for love, loyalty and faithfulness on the 5200 year cycle. Heart chakra energy is involved so that we can move to the state of “unconditional love” with compassion. All sexual desire issues that are not in harmony will surface to be cleared.
