7 Deer/MANIK – Vigilance & Reflection

Greetings Kin,

7 Deer/MANIK

7 Deer/MANIK

The 13-day trecena of Crocodile/IMIX is a cycle of energy helping us to tap into our creative genius. IMIX initiates us into a new way of thinking with ideas that may seem to come out of left field. The purpose is to shake us out of our established thought patterns.

One of my realizations has been about a faulty assumption… I was making decisions based on a theory I never thought through. It took a wild idea to catch my attention to even think about it. To be capable of genius and innovation we have to pay attention to our thinking.

THE TRECENA OF CROCODILE/IMIX

7 Deer/MANIK (Cherokee, Deer/Ahwu’sdi)

Galactic Tone 7: Reflective. Seven stands as a mirror to divide light and dark and to reflect all that is and is not. Seven is associated with the source of creation and the flow of Divine Will. With a keen sense of ethics, Seven establishes purpose to current and future goals.

Deer/MANIK (Hand): Deer are spirit tools. Silence itself is a spiritual experience for Deer. For Deer life is a pilgrimage. Deer are dominant persons who defend the people and will make sacrifices for others. The spirit of Deer upholds the pillars of the four directions. With the power inherent in the number four, Deer pushes away bad influences or negative energies. Skill and quality of work are very important to Deer. They are presented with tools for every task in life and it is with these that they are able to rise above limitations. Deer has a habit of keeping every tool it has ever used. This leads to clutter and indecision, loss and procrastination. When confronted with promises not kept, Deer becomes stubborn, manipulative and evasive.

DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL

Vigilance & Reflection

Tone 7 asks us to reflect on the Truth of our own thinking. We each have our own set of assumptions that filter our experiences every day.

Deer’s most valued tool is vigilance. By being present in the moment Deer is capable to see in all directions and is always prepared to leap from danger. Being conscious in the moment brings us to a greater understanding of who we are and what we are thinking. The more we know our own thoughts, the better we are able to direct them.

A dedicated daily practice helps us to maintain our vigilance. Regardless of the path we choose, being in touch with ourselves on a daily basis allows us to build on the understanding of yesterday.

To all my relations, may we remember that Deer/MANIK has every tool we need and that our thoughts offer the keys to our own empowerment.
