The First 8 Monkey/CHUEN of this Journal: October 18, 2015

Greetings Kin,

8 Monkey/CHUEN (8 B’aatz) – First 8 B’aatz I painted.

I wanted to share the journal from October 18, 2015, the day I made a commitment to Count the Days. I had been calling myself a daykeeper since 2002 without a Dedicated Practice. I looked at the Tzolk’in every day for some synchronicity. That was as far as I looked.

I had written a few posts from the calendar on the blog, and thought it would be a tool for organization. Then one day, I mentioned the 21-day Gratitude Ceremony in a post. I thought, why talk about it, if you aren’t going to do it. I committed to 21 days. “What had I done? What would I even have to write tomorrow?”

Don’t hold me to any Wisdom about the Maya from 2015. I guess it was good I picked a narrow topic. I couldn’t even Sign my Name.

On that 8 B’aatz I realized I never made a real commitment. I Initiated myself. As my Offering, I made a commitment to 260 journals and 260 glyphs, one for every day.

Material changes have followed and I’m still following that path to another Dream. I could never measure the value of a worldly return to the Consciousness to see all the Blessings that were Always there and are Eternal.

I couldn’t have done it without YOU. I’m grateful to Celebrate the Day it began with you.
The Sun is shining, the Mother Finch is singing her song to it, and I placed my Love there. The Signs and Symbols will rise with tomorrow’s Sun, the beginning of our New Life on Earth.

The K’iche’ Maya of highland Guatemala honor this day, 8 B’atz’ (Chuen/Monkey) as the beginning of the 260-day cycle of the Tzolk’in calendar. This is a special day when the Maya community joins to celebrate with Fire Ceremonies of gratitude and is the day of initiation for Shaman and Mayan Daykeepers.

When Maya people celebrate the Tzolkin new year, they are celebrating that the creation of the world has been fulfilled and that a new cycle of 260 days begins. The ceremony includes calling all of the 260 days of the Tzolkin/Cholq’ij calendar. Monkey is the first one called in during the Count of Days in Guatemalan Mayan fire ceremonies because he signifies the beginning of time.

These ancient sacred ceremonies are a time of purification, blessing and celebration now recognized and honored by Daykeepers throughout the world as well as the traditional Maya. Among the practices of a Daykeeper is to welcome the inspiration of a new Sun, and to send a message of love forward on the Sun in lak’ech to the next Daykeepers waiting for the dawn.

To all my relations, I am grateful for honored traditions brought forward from our ancestors that bring meaning and connection to our lives. I am grateful for every new beginning and for the opportunity it brings to be made new once again and to clear a way for a fresh path forward.

Most of all, I am grateful to hold a sacred space with those that share the path of beauty that we may all move forward in harmony and in the spirit of lak’ech – “I am another yourself.”

Today brings an opportunity join in a celebration in harmony with all that is. As this new day dawns, I send my love around to you on the Sun.

1 Transformer/CIMI

Our lives are in a continual process of life and death transformation. We die to the old as we are transformed into the new. CIMI signals a cycle of major life change and brings with it the spiritual support, strength and endurance to carry us through.

As we walk the threshold between two worlds, we may feel the stronger presence of our ancestors.  They are capable to activate our psychic sensitivity when we call on them for support.

Our empowerment will come through an application of Unconditional Love as we flow with the current of Divine Will.

Greetings Kin,

On Galactic Tone 13 we arrive at a new vista. From the new perspective of our ascension Serpent/CHICCHAN ignites us by revealing the success of our latest efforts.

In the day-to-day our changes may seem like minor adjustments, though the consistency of our incremental movements forward has far more impact on the road to our destiny than any occasional monumental effort.

Like watching children grow, the closer one is to the action the more difficult it is to see the changes as they are happening. We place significance on our milestones because they reveal the evidence of transformation. 13 Serpent/CHICCHAN marks such a milestone.

11 Night/AKBAL – Divine Correspondence

MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL

Greetings Kin,

11 Night/AKBAL

11 Night/AKBAL

Galactic Tone 11 brings the energy for modifications and adjustments. The change that we desire to manifest requires a reallocation of our resources. This may mean a greater commitment is required, or that there’s something that needs to be let go. The decisions presented by Tone 11 require a reassessment of our priorities.

Night/AKBAL is a comforting Day Sign by most accounts – dreamy, mysterious, the place of the unknown where all potential lies, and the Day Sign that speaks to us in our dreams. Akbal is the dream and an energy of powerful supernatural possibility. Akbal is a good day to bring a pencil and paper to the bedside table before going to bed in anticipation of dreamtime inspiration.

Today is a GREEN DAY that magnifies what you focus on.

Greetings Kin,

12 Monkey/CHUEN

12 Monkey/CHUEN

We’re near the end of our 13-day journey through a trecena of spiritual enlightenment led by Sun/AHAU, the Day Sign of Divine Light.

Tone 12 presents us with an intention of inner work, empowering us with a gift for reflection. We are made capable to fully recognize the profound Truth of who we are.

We are given a portal through which we can experience “knowing” through a correspondence of Spirit.

This is the second of two consecutive Green Days… days that embody the element of ether/spirit, magnify what is focused on, and empower us with Gifts of Spirit.
