9 Serpent / CHICCHAN – Discovering Our Dynamic World: Day 9

MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL

9 Serpent / CHICCHAN

Greetings Kin,

Tone 9 brings an Intention of Patience. Tone 9 warns that something important would be missed if we fail to see the bigger picture. We’ve been guided to see Earth/CABAN as a reflection of who we are. Just as we see Spring happening around us, it’s happening within us as well.

Yesterday, Seed/KAN reminded us of its magic that comes to life by a connection made to Earth. We are the Seed, made of the elements of Earth. Human’s magic is created together. An Awakening of Spiritual Wisdom is the Blossoming of our Spring, beheld as our Beauty in the Eyes of the Creator.

Serpent/CHICCAN is the Day Sign that ignites our Spiritual Fire. CHICCHAN awakens us to the Language of the Heart through an initiation of “Lightning in the Blood.”

PORTAL DAY: Element of Ether  – Portal days offer a thinning of the veil between dimensions. Tone 9 is also a Peak Day of energy. The already Powerful Energy of 9 Serpent/CHICCHAN will be magnified by a Portal. We’re offered an opportunity to re-experience and Feel our own Magic. This is a day offering a special gift of Intuition and Knowing as a Peak Spiritual Experience. Tone 9 would remind us that those around us can Sense things too.

Serpent/CHICCHAN “lights the fuse that magnifies and explodes the life force itself.”  There is potential for a Spiritual Quickening that brings a more conscious awareness of Spirit through our physical senses. Serpent’s magical forces are compared to Kundalini energy. An experience of Knowing could set off a physical sensation that travels up the spine. You might also recognize it as that flush that sets hair on end or raises goosebumps. If we pay attention to our body, we could experience physical symptoms that accompany a revelation.

Snake is compared to Dragon in that it offers a Gift of Seeing Clearly. Snake is also flexible and capable to adapt, unless backed into a corner. CHICCHAN could help us see a “corner” we’ve created, with such clarity, we could finally leave it behind.

The broader perspective that Serpent/CHICCHAN could share is the Truth of the “God Presence” that is held within each one of us. Through our “lightning in the blood” we are all connected to a network of energy. Deer/MANIK notes this as “Harmonic Resonance.” As a living being, we each hold a vibration that is capable to impact the vibrations of others. We might compare this sense to Whales, which are noted for their ability to send long-distance communication through the vibration and frequency of sound.

From Tone 9’s higher point of view, we could Know the communion we hold with Earth, is a worthy form of communication with each other. Mother Earth hears our messages of Love as we open our Hearts to share “Here I am, loving you.” CHICCHAN could confirm through a Sense of Knowing that she hears us, and that others would “hear us” too.

There are no words that adequately express True Love. CHICCHAN could help us realize how our unspoken feelings of Love are sensed by each other. The transformative power of the Tzolk’in is all about paying attention. Every Tone brings a new Intention for thought, whether its ooking within, looking deeper, reflecting back, looking into the future, and imagining new creations. It was born from the Maya’s Love of Mother Earth. They saw each day as a Sacred Event. The Tzolk’in reminds us every day to “Come Be Here Now.”

We have the power to uplift the Whole through our feelings of Love. We can share our love with each other, the same way we share it with the Earth. Sometimes I’ve sent my Love to other drivers on the road, usually as the “self-correction” after they’ve cut me off. 🙂 It always sets off a chain reaction where I find myself blessing everyone I see, truly wishing them a blessed day. I wonder if it makes a difference. CHICCHAN would say it does.

To all my relations, just as we look to the Earth to wonder at the Beauty of Spring, may we see each other in the same way. May we see each interaction as a Sacred Event, and acknowledge each other for the God Spirit within. With our Senses ignited by Serpent/CHICCHAN this is the perfect day to test the theory that people Know when they are approached with Love. May we spread our True Love around without words, and be present to see what happens. May we hold the Spirit of Namaste, a greeting that means “the God in me, sees the God in you.”

in lak’ech, I am another you

9 Serpent / Chicchan (Cherokee, Serpent/DO’TSI)

Galactic Tone 9: Patience. The energy of Nine is one of the getting a better perspective of the bigger picture. With the energy of Nine plans or patterns begin to come to completion. Nine requires patience and perseverance that is found in the bigger picture, otherwise there is great suffering from the lack of insight. The completion of cycles of action is all-important to Nine.

Serpent/CHICCHAN: Movement and the creation of time. Sensual and dramatic, this sun sign embodies intense instinctual wisdom and creates a connection from Earth bound, to Heavenly aspirations. By sincere service to others, Serpent opens and expands its heart. Serpent aligns authority and the truth to bring justice that is quick and sure. Serpents are very adaptable, even fluid until trapped in a corner, and then they explode. Serpents, venomous temper poisons itself as well as others by creating resentful, suppressive and even destructive attitudes.

Cherokee, Serpent/DO’TSI: Serpent’s symbol is Constellation Serpens. Serpent people are Sky people who come to earth periodically as Educators. As above-So below, on Earth the Serpent is the roots of the tree of knowledge. Serpent power is vital energy, the moving force, the instinct and desire for creativity, the trigger that sets off the action. It lights the fuse that magnifies and explodes the life force itself. Knowledge, combining science, technology and psychology, plus spirituality are seeded on the planet.

By providing the original text, I hope to offer a way to see what inspired my thoughts and by including all the aspects – allow for something more to inspire you. Mayan descriptions are those written by Ian Lungold. Cherokee descriptions came from multiple sources. Links to sources and other resources of study are offered on the Daykeeper Resources Page. 1. namaste … Debra!

    Below are the lines that popped out at me forging new pathways to deeper reflection :;

“Lightning in the Blood.” — reflecting on the power/history of one’s own DNA.

“…we could experience physical symptoms that accompany a revelation.” — amazing how the body is in constant dialogue with us.

“Snake is also flexible and capable to adapt, unless backed into a corner. CHICCHAN could help us see a “corner” we’ve created, with such clarity, we could finally leave it behind.” — what are Snake’s tactics in seeing an imaginary corner vs. a real one

“Every Tone brings a new Intention for thought, whether its ooking within, looking deeper, reflecting back, looking into the future, and imagining new creations.” — ah – yes – spiritual cooking – my fav!

    • Hi Julia – thanks for sharing your thoughts! In answer to your question – I think of serpents tactics are ‘seeing with the senses! a funny thing happened last night – daughter called with a problem – one of the few times I had the exact answer she needed – though it was right in front of her – she was to close to the problem. It reminded me of imix – and how much i still love to help my kids with solutions for living.
