4 Road / EB – A Journey as One: Day 4

MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL

4 Road / EB

Greetings Kin,

Tone 4 brings an energy of Stability. Tone 4 holds the Intention of establishing a direction and orientation – the parameters or “rules of the game.” Road/EB, also called Human, relates to our Human Destiny. Human is the “bearer of time.” Our Destiny is our Journey, our Movement through Time in the Natural World. Road is said to open the way for others and to give generously of itself in the role of caretaker where help is needed, and a leader who clears a path for others to follow. 4 Road/EB guides us in making our Way through the World.

The Road/EB glyph illustrates the “road of destiny” on the head of Human. Given the Sacred Right to Choose, Human’s destiny is the result of its own Choices.

As a Yellow Day Sign, Road is a “dark” Day Sign, in the rotation between “light” and “dark.” On “light” days (Red and Blue signs), we receive incoming inspiration as light. On “dark” days (Yellow and White signs), the light is turned off… as we create our own “light” from the experience of an application. Human is a binary creature that acquires Wisdom by first being inspired with an idea, then seeing it’s application to acquire the Wisdom of Experience. Human learns by taking steps of left and right. One side of our thinking helps us dream, and the other discerns experience by reason of the mind.

Today we will establish our stability by following Road in our “left/right” way of moving. By applying a new understanding we will learn How to Walk the Road that leads Desired Destiny.

Both Tone 4 and Road/EB offer Wisdom that relates to our Navigation through Time. The stability of Tone 4 presents a Sense of Orientation. Like a GPS, we’re given a way to know where we’re headed and how far we’ve gone. Tone 4 can offer the context of where we are now. Road/EB offers the coordinate of our destination – the Destiny of our Intention. On Tone 3, we were guided to make our first Movement toward an Intention. The most important “next thing” to know is to track where we’re going and where we’ve been… as the means of knowing where our next footstep would fall.

The Elders taught that walking is a process of balance and imbalance. In the place between steps we are momentarily out of balance. If we watch a child learning to walk, the effort is finally accomplished by the courage and determination to raise a foot from a balanced place, to fall forward into the next step. There can always be a sense of imbalance in the unknown for every step we take forward. This is how we were created to walk – taking that next Leap of Faith – the fall into our next step forward.

We learned from Monkey, that time stands still when we are not moving. As a symbol of a Divinely Inspired Creator, Monkey demonstrated the Choice to Keep Moving. By our own experience, we know it is easier to walk at a steady gate, than to hover from one footstep to the next. Through continuous movement, we are more capable to maintain our balance. Through continuous movement, we also generate momentum – a force within itself that will generate an acceleration of forward movement.

The glyph also illustrates the markers placed on each side of the Road. These are the milestones that illustrate our forward progress. An important part of reaching our destination is tracking our ongoing progress. Stopping to Acknowledge our progress, inspires us in seeing how far we have come and the information needed to direct our course.

The Road to any Dream is accomplished one step at a time… moving beyond one moment of imbalance at a time, taking one small Leap of Faith at a time. As we hold the Intention to keep moving, our Leap of Faith becomes second nature. Like the imbalance between our steps, as we become walking and running Human Beings, we don’t even remember the imbalance between steps. Each Leap is the exercise of our Spiritual Growth. The further we walk this way, the less Faith is required for the effort of the next step. We fall into the rhythm of Walking As One.

Road/EB reminds us that our very purpose is this Journey in Oneness. We are given a lifetime to reach our Divine Destiny. As the “bearers of time” we are given a sense of the influence of small changes over time. The small corrections we make along the way have far greater impact than our occasional monumental effort. These should be our benchmarks of success. Our moments of clarity that inspire a correction of course are the evidence of our Divine Guidance – not evidence of a mistake. There are few courses to a destination that are represented as a straight line. In fact, that would likely make a less interesting journey. Perhaps our grandest moments are in a side-trip to smell the roses, or to stop at an historical marker to see who else has been there. Moving forward in the Momentum of Faith, surrendered to the Divine Will, any stops or wrong turns can give us something more to go on.

The Cherokee Day Sign Rattlesnake Tooth is the sign of the shaman, and way-shower. It is a symbol of Spiritual Medicine that reflects the spectrum of color displayed by a rainbow. Our Life’s Journey will be marked by Divine Signs and Wonders, that prove to us we aren’t alone.

To all my relations, may we recognize our hesitation as the Time We Bear the feeling of imbalance. Monkey taught us to hold a Vision of our Dream and to approach life as a curiosity, eager to see what happens next. When we keep moving, we can overcome our sense of trepidation. Our fears of “fight or flight” don’t have time to take hold when we just keep moving. What starts as a deliberate effort can soon become second nature. May we create our own historical markers along the way. They will serve us, and those who will follow. On a Journey as One, we aren’t alone. We’re on the same road, maybe in different places, but all walking as One with the Creator. May we walk in the Truth that when we Walk in Atonement, a Divine Source will inspire our needed course corrections, and even our detours hold the potential to Experience Beauty. May we remember this Journey is Human’s Divinely Inspired Destiny. We were Created to Fulfill this Purpose. May we Believe in the signs and wonders that a Divine Creator offers to draw our Consciousness to an Experience of Beauty.

in lak’ech, i am another you

4 Road/EB (Cherokee, Rattlesnake Tooth)

Galactic Tone 4: Stability; the cube is most stable of all forms and establishes volume by definition of height, length, depth and breadth; 4 directions establish orientation. The energy of 4 sets the parameters, which establish the freedoms and barriers needed to create a game, work, or relationship.

Road/EB: The bearer of time and conductor of destiny; also known as Human; these persons open the road and guide to the future groups, communities and individuals alike. Likable, obedient, dedicated hard workers and organizers, Road persons are fortunate in business and travel. Many become caretakers of the poor, sick, or old people, where they may make personal sacrifices. Road is sometimes referred to as the sign of grass, which is the most bountiful of all life forms, but is also the most humble. Road persons are affectionate and emphatic; they are easily hurt but slow to anger. Holding in of negative emotions and unexpressed resentment can lead to illness, a poisoned opinion of others and a false bravado for this sun sign.

Cherokee, Rattlesnake Tooth/KANU’GA: Symbol is Rainbow, a delicate display of electromagnetic rays of the SUN. The Natal day sign of Medicine, the Shaman, the Priest, the Healer, and the Sorcererkh; Guardian of the Way, Keeper of the Keys of the secret Kingdom.
