MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
Jaguar/IX leads our new journey drawing our awareness to the Sacred Energies that flow through all of Creation. We were offered a Dream of how life might be, living in the Truth of All Possibility.
Tone 2 holds the Intention of Duality. We are separated from the Whole to discern how this Truth applies to us. On Tone 2 we compare our Self and our Circumstances to one another.
We consider our capability to grasp our own Spiritual Power. We face concerns about our Self, fearing that we are somehow different.
Tone 2 is a day when we could find ourselves questioning what we really believe. What we believe in theory, may be harder to believe for our Self.
Eagle/MEN is the Intermediary who lifts us up to the Realm of Spirit. Eagle has the vision to see into the future and can bless us with a Higher Perspective.
Eagle/MEN is said to inspire High Hopes and Aspirations. Eagle reminds us that old limitations were left behind, and helps us see where our Higher Consciousness could lead. Eagle reminds us of the progress we’ve made. We learned our fears are only an initial reaction. We can claim a new Freedom from the Fears of our Old Self.
Eagle/MEN is capable to see its prey from a mile away. Eagle doesn’t hesitate to grasp an opportunity and takes the shortest route from Point A to Point B. Eagle/MEN helps us see that this is the Time and Place of an opportunity to realize our Spiritual Power.
Today we are defining our first Leap of Faith. Our Faith will carry us through the unknown. The Jaguar/IX trecena guides us to the Wisdom of Experience. This is a “first time” experience of “darkness” where we must generate our own Light. In a new round of the Tzolk’in, our New Self has no history of itself to fall back on.
We are still a Seed of our New Self, yet to make our way to the Light. We still exist in the Void of all possibility. From Eagle’s Higher Perspective, we could see we have nothing to lose in reaching for our wildest dreams.
Gratitude is the “magic” that Jaguar/IX will teach us to rely on. As we count our blessings, we’ll see the Truth of God’s Hand in everything around us. Eagle/MEN offers the Vision of our Highest Hope. We won’t have to “think” our way. Our Choice to Believe in the Power of the Creator is all we need to be guided by Divine Intuition.
To all my relations, may we look ahead believing in the Blessing that lies in our future. May we rely on Divine Intervention to learn how to get there. From our heavenly perspective, may we give thanks for the beauty of the Creator that extends all around us for as far as we can see. May we grasp an opportunity to Be Something New… able to see beyond our own fear of the unknown.

2 Eagle/MEN (Cherokee, Eagle/UWO’HATLI)
Galactic Tone 2: Mysterious as the question ‘to be or not to be?” Two is the recognition of the separation of self from all else and the desire to be rejoined. Walking a balance while making choices of all kinds, light/dark, male/female, good/bad, Yin/Yang, is the energy of this number. Experiencing the differences between one and another is the use and purpose of this number.
Eagle/MEN: Intermediary between Heaven and Earth. Due to the Eagles superior point of view and keen intelligence, they achieve material abundance and good fortune. A messenger gifted with patience and a deep sense of value, Eagle brings hope and trust on the wings of Spirit. Eagle persons are very detail oriented and technically inclined. Compassionate service to others sustains prosperity for Eagle personas as the flapping of wings would sustain their bird brothers. If Eagle becomes viciously competitive or possessive, greed and jealousy cause a fall from the heights. Eagles, being blessed with freedom of movement, should be aware of escapism. Eagles may be tempted to just fly away from troubles by using indulgences.
Cherokee, Eagle/UWO’HATLI: Eagle’s symbol is Mars the Spirit Warrior. He is a minion of Grandfather Moon. Eagles were the warrior society, the braves the protectors of the nation. Women were included. There was no discrimination which is reflected in the language: third person singular is divided into animate, human and animate, not human instead of he and she. The energy of high hopes and anticipations, dreams and visions, cosmic consciousness and commitment. On earth, a provider of excellence, leader, husbandry, care-taking of others, financial security and inheritance.

By providing the original text, I hope to offer a way to see what inspired my thoughts and by including all the aspects – allow for something more to inspire you. Mayan descriptions are those written by Ian Lungold. Cherokee descriptions came from multiple sources.
