1 Sun / AHAU – Vigil of Light: Day 1 of 13

MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL

1 Sun / AHAU

Greetings Kin,

The Next 13-Days…

The Trecena of Sun/AHAU will lead us on a journey out of the shadow and into the Light. Ahau is the Supreme Lord of the Tzolk’in, the Light of Life, Love, and Happiness. AHAU will walk with us for the next 13-day, encouraging our Will and Determination to claim our Identity as Children of the Light.

Our time has come to Rise and Shine. Sun/AHAU guides us to a New Manifestation of Light. AHAU represents our Connection with the Old Ones, the Ascended Masters who Created Light for us to Follow. Sun/AHAU can transform us by bringing Light to what lies in the shadows, and Light to things Hidden in Plain Sight. Sun/AHAU brings the Light of Truth to our own capabilities to Grow into the Maturity of who we are Raised Up to Become.

2nd & 3rd Uinals: Sun/AHAU completes our journey through the 2nd uinal of Germination. We’ve existed in the Creative Void of the Womb, a Seed in the Darkness. The 3rd uinal represents our first Movements of Life. Identified by the Creator, we are given the Will to Birth a new Vibration of our Self. Sun/AHAU inspires who we will become, the new Consciousness that will be drawn from Spirit to become a Living Thing in the world.

PORTAL DAYS: Element of Ether
The Sun/AHAU trecena includes 3 Portal Days that thin the veil to other dimensions and empower our psychic gifts of intuition and telepathy. A Portal on 4 Night/AKBAL will magnify an Inner Voice of Spirit. On 11 Dog/OC a Portal will bring new clarity to our consciousness of Unconditional Love, and on 12 Monkey/CHUEN a Portal will magnify the Understanding of our Power of Creation.

PEAK DAYS: Peak Experience, Peak Performance

  • 6 Serpent/CHICCHAN – offers momentum and movement by “lightning in the blood”
  • 7 Transformer/CIMI – establishes our balance through a gift of clairvoyance
  • 8 Deer/MANIK – a transformation of Justice is made possible through our Spiritual Tools
  • 9 Star/LAMAT – through a Higher Perspective we will Know our Self as the Personification of the Creator’s Light

Sun/AHAU will Proclaim our Right to Exist in a world of Happiness and Harmony with the Freedom To Be. Through a Revelation of our Self, our Movement will begin in the effort to reach the Light. Though we begin in Darkness Below, we’ll make our way holding a Vision of the Light that exists Above.

Deer/MANIK inspired us with a Meaning and Purpose. MANIK guided us to see the Ether of Spirit that resides above us, the Ether we can reach for to grasp an eternal source of Divine Power. MANIK was a trecena of “Light,” a cycle of Divine Inspiration. We were inspired by an Aspiration to be made One with the Creator, through a shared Intention. Sun/AHAU is a trecena of the “Dark,” a cycle of Application. We will conceive the Light from the Darkness Below. We will be transformed by the Wisdom we acquire from the reality of Experience.

Human Consciousness operates through a processing system of Duality. Our comprehension is manifested through a process just like a computer, recognizing the 1’s and 0’s as On and Off. We could liken our two ways of establishing Wisdom like a science class. First we get the lecture that inspires the Knowing, then we see the reality through an application in the Lab. Ideas and Inspiration can come and go. But when we experience, we Know the Truth for our Self and Remember. The Wisdom becomes a Tool that we would reflect back on as a comparison to acquire even Greater Wisdom.

The Maya recognized cycles of Light and Dark through Venus that exists as both the Morning and the Evening Star. As the Morning Star, we appear close to the Sun. The lights are on. We see the Light of the Creator. As the Evening Star, we appear in the Dark where we Grasp the Truth of our Own Light through an experience we can Remember.

Sun/AHAU is the Lord of the Tzolk’in calendar, a Spiritual Tool passed down from the “Light” of the Ascended Masters. The Tzolk’in offers the “Light” of our Transformation, the Consciousness of our Spirit’s Growth on Earth. Existing in unconsciousness, we see one day after another as all the same. With Consciousness, we can perceive Life as a dynamic experience of our own Transformation. We see the proof of our Growth and Progress.

The “Light” and “Dark” complete a “binary set” of Understanding. Sun/AHAU is “0” the Omega, the All in One. “1” is the Beginning, a number that reflects the individual parts of the Whole. From the Alpha (IMIX) to the Omega (AHAU), the 20 Day Signs of each uinal reflect all the “Ones” that exist in the Omega. They appear in 13 positions, 13 Intentions of Being, that make up the Whole of a Divine Perspective. Each of the Day Signs in the 3rd uinal will guide us as a different reflection of AHAU. AHAU is always with us, as the Spark within.

Sun/AHAU resides in the South, the direction of our Relationship with the Natural World and Each Other. The South represents all the pieces that make up the Whole of our worldly perception, our realm of influence. The Element of Earth is the substance of who we are in our experience in the Below. Sun/AHAU will help us to see the Light Below in each other and in Mother Earth. By the Light of Spirit, AHAU can transform us by seeing how Light and Dark will work together. AHAU represents the Whole of Divine Consciousness. Consciousness is the Light we will hold in the Dark.

AHAU is the Hero, the Master of all things. The trademark of AHAU’s purpose is to ignite our Will and Determination to become Masters too. ALL the Masters are with us under the Light of AHAU… the Ascended Masters, our Spirit Guardians, Angels and Archangels. We are connected, and together they will Light the way. This cycle will guide us to turn to them for guidance and direction. Together, they will lead us to the Light.

Given so much Light, this cycle holds the potential to see many things we haven’t seen before, and the Proof that the Light is always shining for us. We will comprehend Mother Earth in a new Light that will change our Relationship with the Whole.

Today is the send off by Sun/AHAU for our journey. AHAU brings the Light of Faith and Determination. Through a personal revelation, we’ll receive new Faith in our potential to overcome obstacles. We can sense a new Power in our Self, a power that will motivate us to move toward our Meaning and Purpose. AHAU is the Divine Father we look up to as children, the One that gives us the Vision of what we are Intended to grow up to be. Today we can awaken to a new Sense of our own Power, and given a reason to Move in an Intention that will raise us to Life, Light, and Happiness in the world Below.

With AHAU, nothing is left in the shadows. Light will reveal the “good” with the “bad” in Harmony. AHAU will challenge us, Knowing what we are capable to do. AHAU will give us the Passion to make a Steep Climb of Spiritual Growth and will Multiply the Exchange of Divine Justice that transforms our Faith into a new Belief in our Self. Through the Discernment of Light of the Creator, and of all the Masters of Light, our Human eyes will see a Miracle that proves we never walk alone… proof of our connection to Divine Power.

Sun makes a promise to stay by our side. Our Sacred Exchange is a Vigil of Light. The Cherokee Day Sign, the Flower, represents the face of the Flower that follows the Sun across the sky.

To all my relations, may we initiate ourselves into the Beginning of a New Intention to Create our own Light. May we look to the Sun each day of our journey, following the Light that moves across the sky. Just as Deer/MANIK taught us to Stand in the Beauty of Earth, may find the direction for movement by training our eyes on the Light that will illuminate her Beauty. May our Consciousness of Earth and the Magic of her Beauty be Illuminated by the new Light from Above. May we be inspired by a new Sense of Direction. As the new Seed of who we will become, may we be Inspired to move in a direction we will Sense by Spirit, that will show us the way to emerge from our own Darkness in the Image of the Light that shines Above. May our Movement recreate the Sound and Vibration that sings the Song of the Universe. May we maintain our Vigil of Light by filling the Sky with our Songs to the Sun, and Beating our Drums for Mother Earth to the rhythm of our own beating Heart.

A NEW COMMITMENT TO GRATITUDE:

I’m sharing a the “21-Days of Gratitude” as a perpetual Personal Ceremony through the next journey to 8 Monkey/CHUEN Maya New Year. The “21 days” begin and end on Jaguar/IX.

21-Days of Gratitude: Day 7

I’m grateful for the Movement inspired by the Creator that leads us into the Light of Consciousness. I’m grateful for the Song that Father Sun and Mother Earth sing together as they dance in the circles of the Universe.

MEDICINE WAY: Eating the Light
A traditional way of drawing nourishment from the Sun is illustrated in a Sunrise practice the Elders referred to Eating the Light. We greet the Dawning of a new Day in Sacred Ceremony, we draw the Light to our lips by sweeping our right hand across the Light of the horizon. We repeated the movement 4 times to draw Light for every direction of our Life. This was done after cornmeal was released to the sky as a Blessing from our right hand… cornmeal into which we breathed 4 times while holding the Intention of our prayers. At sunset, we bid the Light farewell and let it carry away the troubles of the day, so that a new day can be started from a place of purity. We can enhance our Conscious experience through our interactions with the Sun. May we be inspired to our own way to hold our presence with the Sun and to draw its Light. There is magic too bright for us to see. So, may we take a Leap that demonstrates our Faith and Hope to Believe in the magic in a Relationship that exists between Father Sky and Mother Earth. Just as we discovered Earth’s Beauty by training our eyes on Her, may we come to Know the Creator’s Power in the same way.

SOUND MEDITATION: May we see our own Beauty as Children of the Creator. May we look upon the Children and the Beauty of their Innocence to imagine what the Creator Dreamed they would become from their Lives on Mother Earth.

for a trecena energy forecast, insight on the 3rd Uinal, and daily aspects of the Sun/AHAU trecena.

1 Sun/AHAU (Cherokee, Flower/GUN’TSI EK)

Galactic Tone 1:  Unity. One is the beginning of all things, the first, the whole and the all in one. One’s are assertive and self-guided and give a good push to whatever project they are associated with. One persons work best when meeting a challenge. Do not expect One-persons to be attentive to details or to put the finishing touches on things.

Sun/AHAU: Day of the ancestors and connection to their guidance. The divine face of the sun – lord, musician, singer, dancer, and marksman. Suns are artistic, heroic athletes, visionaries with wise judgment who lead and defend the people. So much is expected from themselves and by other people that unfulfilled expectations are a certainty. An accumulation of these disappointments may lead Sun to evade responsibilities, not accept corrections and even build resentment and disdain towards others. Suns should simplify their lives to be able to rise and shine with unconditional love once again.

Cherokee, Flower/GUN’TSI EK: Symbol is the Sun, place of abode of Great Spirit. The Sun creates, nurtures, and is the super communicator, the way station that relays messages and energy from other stars in the galaxy; provides energy for channeling information from the Ancestors; speaking the Living Language of Light, which ignites the consciousness in others. Gold is the color of courage and opportunity of wealth. Creative arts, master craftsman expressing divinity and wisdom through their creations. The face of the flower follows the Sun gathering the fire of creativity, illuminating harmony and balance, resonating peace and continuity within the human spirit. This is the Sign of the Chalice of the Infinite, Caldron of Creation.

    • Greeting Fab. I’m about to publish more online resources and am also publishing a workbook. A good starting place is the top menu link of Daykeeper Resources. I began my journey via Mayanmajix.com teachings by Ian Lungold. It’s very appropriate at this Sun/AHAU trecena to visit some of his videos… because he is an inspiration. The free resources I’ll soon offer will be more about the day signs and the numbers. The more you immerse yourself as a daily practice of just getting acquainted with them is the starting place… along with noting your experience of interpretation. I always go back to “what is happening with me? what’s on my mind?” then see how it relates to the aspect of the number.. and how the day sign would handle it. These are the kinds of things that will be part of the workbook.. how to use it. Do it easy as it goes day by day… just give some time to reflect on your own interpretation, and the calendar will lead you to the next thing. The major resources for understanding are linked on that page… the definitions and explanations that I found correspondent with the teachings of Ian Lungold – like 4-ahau.com, or the tzolk’in explorer website. Let me know if that’s enough to get you started. I’m happy to answer questions, much love to you on your journey, in lak’ech, Debra – thank you for sharing a path of healing the whole.

      • Greetings, Debra. I’ve been reading all I can in 4-ahau.com, mayanmajix and tzolkin app. What I couldn’t understand so far are the double entries on uinals (Tzolkin? Haab?) and their influences on each day. Also, the Hunab Ku (the Galactic Butterfly) is something that is puzzling me. Is it something the Mayans use or is it a José Arguelles invention? What is the influence of it in Tzolkin?

I would be most glad if you could enlighten me in those subjects. Thanks again!

      • Hi Franco, if I understand your question on double-entries, each trecena is a spiral circle of spiritual growth and transformation, each unial is a cycle of Higher Context. So each intention within the trecena is accomplishes it’s own Intention of growth, in the interest of the Higher Intention of the uinal. The Higher intention of the 3rd uinal is to bring an Intention to life through Movement. So that is the higher context of everything we are doing in the Sun/AHAU trecena. The Haab reflects the higher cycle of planetary influence… a context of what is happening in the world around us. The context of this planetary cycle (Haab year bearer 6 Deer/MANIK… establishing a flow, rhythm, and pattern in a Mission to serve Love to the Whole. Regarding the Galactic Butterfly and the portal days, there are many questions on this that will rely on your own discernment. It’s my understanding that it may have been brought to light by Arguelles, yet there are some unusual aspects surrounding those kin that I have found worthy for my own personal consideration. Each green square exists as 1 of a set of 4. If you took the TONE numbers, of the green squares in each corner, their sum is 28. If you continue to match the sets of 4 kin, every set adds us to 28. I haven’t figured out what it means, I only know that I’ve experienced these days in a different way. The portals may be something you have to discern your own Truth by experience. I’m very familiar with Jose’s Dreamspell, and have some resistance to, identified as outside the traditions of the indigenous count of days. Yet, these portals still speak to me. They are still an unsolved mystery on my own path. I hope that helps. My friend in Guatemala notes cycles represented in the Tzolk’in beyond what I’ve heard of. Her teacher shared with her that even the count of the human heartbeat is a factor considered in its creation. Her teacher advised there are calendars still unknown, so sacred they have yet to be shared. in lak’ech, Debra

  1. Thank you for your reply. The novelty of the information is puzzling, so doubts arise everytime I try to delve a bit deeper. But it’s Ahau trecena, time to shed a light on it.

You mentioned Deer/Manik year in Haab. Where I could find more information about the Haab, such as its context, the influences, etc, similar to what can be found on the daysigns information?

    • The Smithsonian site offers an overview of the Haab, and calendar converter with current long count, includes Haab date. https://maya.nmai.si.edu/calendar/calendar-system
Search Mayanmajix.com for Jose Jaramillo’s article on year bearer, which includes a list of several decades of the Haab new year date and their year bearers. For deeper research for meanings of the months, etc. search Google for “haab 4-ahau” should help you find it on the 4-ahau.com site (includes links to academic resources like Ken Johnson). Good luck! Debra
