Greetings Beloved Kin,

Spirit led me back to the original resources from my first formal teaching on the Mayan Calendar in 2009. I began following the Tzolk’in Count in 2002 through Ian Xel Lungold’s website at MayanMajix.com. I called myself a Daykeeper. After receiving the wisdom shared through a live conference held by Jose Jaramillo, I learned more in-depth about the calculations and their meaning and purpose. I called myself a real Daykeeper.

My life began to change quickly when I began this journal in September 2015. That was the change that made a difference. I truly became a Mayan Daykeeper when I dedicated myself to a commitment to count 260 days, all recorded in one place here on JaguarSpirit.com. That October 18, 2015 was 8 B’atz, the New Year celebrated by Mayan Daykeepers – the designated time for Initiation to the purpose.

The Truth I claimed at the end of the first 260 days was that My Own Truth mattered. More important than anyone else’s “truth about me” – was my own Truth. I was the only one beyond the Creator who knew my whole story from the beginning. That changed everything. It still took time to integrate the Truth as Wisdom in my daily experience of life, though it was a pillar of Truth to stand on and see what was happening when I allowed the “truth” of others to influence my faith in myself.

 

As soon as I saw all these miracles happening – a few weeks into the process – I decide to share a class on the Mayan calendar. I give myself credit for the Intention, though I had barely scratched the surface from the half-hearted effort that began in 2002. I hardly knew a thing. (That’s why you should never count on someone else as the end-all answer. There’s an unlimited number of REASONS why people position themselves as guru’s of anything.) It was a humbling experience, even though I was sure I was holding the highest intentions for the whole.

The end-all answer is ALWAYS your own discernment of Truth. Like any source you might use for divine discernment, there are MANY aspects associated with every Destiny Kin (ie. color, number, direction, and the many different perspectives offered through any one of the Day Signs). My journal reflects the aspects that “spoke to me” on any given day. A different aspect may be what speaks to your own Time and Place. They are all general discernments worthy for the whole, but there is a meaning that is all your own when you make the discernment for yourself. That’s the “right conditions” for your personal insight to be multiplied to abundance. That’s when you become willing to stand on your own Truth, even if it changes tomorrow – one Truth leads to another with every application of experience.

From that first Daykeeper Course is a resource that I am more prepared to offer in a meaningful way, and one that I whole-heartedly can stand on as a Divine Spiritual Tool offered through calculations from the Tzolk’in calendar. I created a video that explains the calculations, that were offered along with the detailed documentation for calculation.

The Mayan Holy Cross – System of the Sacred 0-19 – Premiering August 6, 2022

The “standard Mayan Holy Cross” is related to Mayan astrology, a discernment of past, present, and future. The 0-19 System serves another purpose. Through the calculations the 0-19 system identifies the system of guidance from Destiny Kins that support you. More like a discernment of compatibility, the “0-19 Holy Cross” offers a reflection on the Spiritual Guides that surround every Destiny Kin, the seen and unseen helpers for Support, Guidance, and Strength through Challenge, as well as help behind the scenes, and ethereal help from an Unseen realm above.

It’s complicated. This video scheduled for August 6 is a support that goes with written instructions. It won’t make sense without reviewing the instructions and trying your hand at the calculation. It’s well-worth the time if you have the interest.

One of the belief’s central to Mayan cosmology is that to follow the traditions and ways of the Ancestors, is to engage their Wisdom by offering them a place to belong within your own living body of consciousness. In other words, the old ones are given “another life” through which to share as a direct resource the Wisdom of their experience. Their Truth becomes a living part of your own discernment of Truth.

Our Mayan Daykeeper Ancestors worked through the calculations, they drew the glyphs, recorded their discernment, and forecast times in the future. We can invite their wisdom as a living presence when we work through the same calculations and draw the glyphs. Drawing the glyph of the day is a Spiritual Tool in itself. Imagine how many have counted the same days before and drawn the images of the glyphs. Daykeepers who do relate a common experience, an energy that is created from the process… like a “buzzy feeling” of CHICCHAN (kundalini energy). All aspects of the Mayan calendars engage us with the wisdom of those who serve in the Legion of Light from Above.

This is a beginner’s course of introduction. I will expand the original offering for those who express an interest to know. I will also create an offering for those who would like me to provide discernment through a personal reading, an example that may serve to help you discern your truth for yourself.

Although it’s a first beginner’s step, I’d still define it as advanced learning. In the beginning, I had to make calculations more than once to get it right. And, that was all part of the “buzzy process” that was a divine communion to figure it out.

INSTRUCTIONS AND DOCUMENTATION: PREPARATION

Below are the original instructions shared by Jose Jaramillo. His wisdom is drawn from the tradition of the Chiapas region, and a different Haab calendar. Though, the Destiny Kin numbers of Human’s calendar are shared the same by both the Yucatec (North) and Kiche (South) traditions. (In the Northern Hemisphere, the majority of Daykeepers follow the Haab calendar of the Northern Count. I was confused by all the different Haab counts, until I learned that each one is based on a zenithal Sun event that’s specific to Time and Place. That’s another story that deserves it’s own video, or two.)

One other consideration is that the Human calendar turns clockwise in the North and counter-clockwise by traditions of the South. In the North we move from the East to the South. In the South, directions turn from the East to the North. This changes the influence/aspects of the 4 directions. That’s reason enough why most Daykeepers stick with their original count via the Kiche or Yucatec traditions. Both are meaningful. Gaining a meaningful understanding of one, will ultimately lead to an understanding of the other. Both are meaningful – just easier to learn one at a time.

Jose was genius in his calculations, one I would consider a numbers savant. From his teaching we wondered if he didn’t remember every kin number and every calculation off the top of his head. Keep in mind that any difference you may see are likely related to a region of original teaching.

This was the largest graphic on file that reflects the position numbers for each Day Sign. I recommend downloading the full-sized illustration and noting it with the position numbers if this one is hard to read. You will need the bigger chart for all your calculations.

I’ll be learning again along with you. I’m excited to revisit this resource again for the opportunity to apply some Truth I’ve learned since that REAL beginning, October 18, 2015. My intention is to expand on what was shared from the beginning as I engage again from a fresh perspective with you.

By reviewing the materials in advance, you’ll have the advantage of knowing what you don’t understand from the instructions.

If this is not for your interest, I still highly recommend the exercise of drawing the glyphs each day. Just engaging the sacred wisdom through an experience that’s been shared by the Ancestors will open new paths to understanding and higher discernment of the meaning of time.

Assume YOU are the Sage and we are learning together through a collaboration between experience of Time and Place and another.

DISCERNMENT OF THE GALACTIC WEEK: The 13-Day Trecena. 
Tone 1 of every trecena (Galactic Week) is a day of conception that holds a context for the 13 days of creation. Every Tone of the Deer/MANIK trecena holds the context of sharing Spiritual Tools that expand our wisdom through an Intention of Vigilant Consciousness. The Elders called it “tracking the mind.” Understanding for every trecena is made clearer by Remembering the Tone 1, the Inspiration and Intention for the whole 13-day cycle of creation.

(Look to your Conception Date – the Tone 1 of your Destiny Kin’s trecena – to conceive the higher purpose of your Tone and Day Sign.)

IMPORTANT: These calculations are based on the Yucatec tradition. If you are following the Dreamspell calendar, the answers won’t correspond with the traditional wisdom. For this purpose, you will need to calculate your Destiny Kin/Mayan birthday by Yucatec tradition, available at MayanMajix.com, (calculator at bottom of this page); or, via the Smithsonian count at Living Maya Time. The Destiny Kin of Conception for the Deer/MANIK Trecena – the Higher Context of Time

1 Deer/MANIK (Cherokee, Deer/Ahwu’sdi)

Galactic Tone 1: Unity. One is the beginning of all things, the first, the whole and the all in one. One’s are assertive and self-guided and give a good push to whatever project they are associated with. One persons work best when meeting a challenge. Do not expect One-persons to be attentive to details or to put the finishing touches on things.

Deer/MANIK (Hand): Deer are spirit tools. Silence itself is a spiritual experience for Deer. For Deer life is a pilgrimage. Deer are dominant persons who defend the people and will make sacrifices for others. The spirit of Deer upholds the pillars of the four directions. With the power inherent in the number four, Deer pushes away bad influences or negative energies. Skill and quality of work are very important to Deer. They are presented with tools for every task in life and it is with these that they are able to rise above limitations. Deer has a habit of keeping every tool it has ever used. This leads to clutter and indecision, loss and procrastination. When confronted with promises not kept, Deer becomes stubborn, manipulative and evasive.

Cherokee, Deer/Ahwu’sdi: Symbolized by Constellation Galagina, the Stag, known as Taurus, the Bull. It does not include the Pleiades and Hyades clusters which in Cherokee are viewed as separate. To feed, gatherers of food and supplies, they enjoy rituals, ceremonials, feasts, the souls of hospitality, sociability. Freedom versus security issues often inspire leadership and unique solutions.  Combined with artistic and inspiring energies in harmony with lunar cycles, they nourish the clans. Totem-Deer:  A priest or shaman, a powerful person in general, to overwhelm an individual with one’s personal power, divination; inclined to become a teacher, healer, guru, civic leader, or politician.  Ability to create harmonic resonance.
