Greetings Beloved Kin,
We live in Times where many have to stand alone in their faith. We may not find access to a community or a sacred elder to carry out the rituals and sacred ceremonies that were passed down and carried out by a priest or elder of the sacred traditions.
The Elders say that it is good and worthy in such cases to carry out the rituals and ceremonies for our self.
MULUC is the day for a Holy Baptism, Purification, Initiation, and Blessing to our Spirit through the Element of Water. One way to carry it out is through a ceremony of ritual bathing. The way the Elders of the Medicine Wheel path taught to me was to begin by clearing the space, using sage and sweetgrass smudge, or you can use incense for the purpose.
Always give thanks to the elements you use, share your gratitude and ask permission that everything you use may be used for the sacred purpose. Admit that you may not know the highest ways, and ask for help from those Divine Spirits in whom you hold Faith to believe are with you. A friend on the path shared that she always offered the Lord’s Prayer before stepping into the shower.
In your own meditation, count your blessings for Water, a fundamental source for Life. Ask that the blessing be abundant for all living things. Call the blessing that pours over you a Gift of Divine Light and Purification. Ask a Power Greater than yourself to clear your heart and mind of all worldly matters so that you can carry on your walk on Earth in a Divine Way.
When the ritual is done, offer a prayer of gratitude for the blessing. Ask the Creator to finish what you have begun, give thanks, and let your intentions go to a Divine Source who knows the Truth of the Meaning that was held in your heart and mind.
The lingering fragrance of the smudge you offered in the beginning is a divine way to remember the beginning at the end.
A Divine Creator knows the Truth of our Intentions. Through rituals and sacred ceremonies, we create an experience of Spirit that we remember far greater than a silent prayer. Through movement and the sound of our spoken prayers and songs, we create a vibration that becomes part of the Sound of the Uni-verse.
The Elders also taught us that Ceremony was an offering intended in Harmony and Equity for the whole. If you are infirmed, or in a place where you are unable to carry out the ritual in the realm of physicality, it is just as worthy to carry it out as a meditation in Spirit. Imagine every moment, and offer the Time and each step to create the experience.
I pray that through your own rituals and ceremonies, you feel the Light of the Divine Spirit of the Creator descend upon you. Ask, and it shall be so.
love, in lak’ech, i am another you
Debra

9 Offering/MULUC (Cherokee, The River/YUN’WI GUNNAHI’TA)
Galactic Tone 9: Patience. The energy of Nine is one of the getting a better perspective of the bigger picture. With the energy of Nine plans or patterns begin to come to completion. Nine requires patience and perseverance that is found in the bigger picture, otherwise there is great suffering from the lack of insight. The completion of cycles of action is all-important to Nine.
Offering/MULUC: Also known as the sign of water. Ceremonially, Maya use water as an offering in baptisms and purifications. These ceremonies are done to bring about a collective strength, adaptability and harmony. In sincere appreciation, Offering people gladly give more than they ask for themselves. Offering persons are dynamic communicators with great intelligence making them excellent employers. Like a shaken vessel of water, Offering people regain equilibrium quickly. Also like a body of water, there may be deep undercurrents of emotion and hidden dangers. Others perceive these as hidden agendas in offering people and so extend them little trust and may even slap blame on them.
Cherokee, The River/YUN’WI GUNNAHI’TA: The River is symbolized by The Milky Way, the Gihli’Utsun’stanun’yi “Where the Dog Ran” to gather the souls for Heaven. The River is the minion for Grandfather Moon. Long Man is the personification of the River stretching from the mountains to the lowlands, speaking to those who can understand. People of this sign find “sermons in the stones” and good in everything. These souls march to a different drummer, driven by inner volcanic forces. The Moon controls our fluid cycle, to clear and understand emotional issues. When you take this step to clear the emotional body, then you are ready for transformational energies at the next level. As humans, our actions are ruled by our emotions, the key is to understand the connection and honor the emotions.
