An Update on Don Alejandro, Our Beloved Tata

Don Alejandro Cirilo Perez Oxlaj – is the 13 Generation High Priest that was ordered to share the mysteries of the Mayan calendars with the world in the Time of the 13th baktun, the long count completed December 21, 2012. He is acknowledged by many as our Elder Grandfather, “Tata.”

Early in life Don Alejandro was recognized by members of his Mayan people as a messenger to carry the traditions. He is president of the Mayan Council of Elders, a body of 440 male and female elders of wisdom in Guatemala, representing 23 different ethnic groups and has the authority to speak on its behalf. His Mayan name “Wakatel Utiw” means Wandering Wolf. He has traveled the world together with his wife Elizabeth Araujo, sharing ceremonies and Mayan traditions and prophecies.

He had a major health setback about 3 years ago.  I was grateful to be asked by a follower to get the latest update. He’s been on my mind, and I think I was afraid to ask.

I’m grateful to report good news.

Joseph Giove is a long-time friend and supporter through CommonPassion.org, an organization dedicated to preserving the Wisdom of the Indigenous Elders. Joseph has been kind to carry messages and deliver donations in support of Tata. Following was his response to the inquiry.

Hi Debra!

Yes, Tata is doing well. I just heard from his grandson Jeronimo. See attached.

His birthday is February 26th and he will be 95.

I hope you are doing well as well!

Kindly, Joseph

The Elders on the Medicine Wheel path taught us that the Masters Know when we send the energy of our Love. This is a Divine Day to Remember and Honor Tata.

Considering his birthday in February, it would be a good time to share a message for Don with Joseph and to support the cause with a donation for his medical needs. It would be a blessing for Tata to be remembered in a tangible way on his 95th birthday.

The Common Passion organization is a very worthy cause. You can subscribe to their newsletter to learn about their mission and updates on their activities. Joseph makes the trip to  Antigua from time to time. If you reach out to Joseph, he would be more than happy to carry your message to Tata on a future visit.

THE TRECENA OF EAGLE/MEN: RISING TO A HIGHER PERSPECTIVE

Visit the 13-Day Trecena Guide Page for the “Tzolk’in Field Guide: A Daily Practice for Personal Discernment.” My gift for the Tzolk’in round offers an overview for each 13-day trecena and the aspects of each day of the Tzolk’in round. The page also offers a link to resources for your own practice of counting the days to conceive your own discernment of the Meaning of Time.

4TH SEASON: 1 Wisdom/CIB begins the 4th Season of the Tzolk’in – VOLUME 2: Tzolk’in Seasons 3 and 4 (PUBLISHED SEPTEMBER 20, 2020)

NOTE: You can also look at dates from a different direction. What is the Destiny Kin number of your day sign’s 3rd tone? You may have overlooked a life-changing day. Use the Kin Calculator offered on the Daykeeper’s Resource Page for a date six years before or after. If you are just starting to count the days and don’t have a journal from the last round, when something major happens in your life you can look to see if there was a major event on that same date before. You can also look for Signs in the “distance of time” – the number of days between one 13 Eagle/MEN (Cherokee, Eagle/UWO’HATLI)Calculator linked on the resources page. Example – 33 days is a symbol of a day that you actualize the Truth from the beginning date.

2 Wisdom/CIB (Cherokee, Owl/U’GUKU’) – Day 2 of 13 of the 1 Eagle/MEN trecena

Descriptions by Ian Xel Lungold (12 Sun/AHAU), wisdom and Tzolk’in calculator preserved on MayanMajix.com

Galactic Tone 2: Mysterious as the question ‘to be or not to be?” Two is the recognition of the separation of self from all else and the desire to be rejoined. Walking a balance while making choices of all kinds, light/dark, male/female, good/bad, Yin/Yang, is the energy of this number. Experiencing the differences between one and another is the use and purpose of this number.

Wisdom/CIB: The old ones. Wisdom of the ancients. Wisdom persons are aligned with the ancient memories that wait in the stone of temples and sacred sites all over the world. Wisdom people grow luck like a crop using a balance of prudence and tenacity. The tremendous inner strength of this sign enables silent introspection to discover areas of oneself that contain wisdom more valuable than any trove of archaeological treasure. Wisdom persons are valiant defenders of family and community. They may become hardened to life and sentiment turned cold. In these cases, they need much forgiveness for their uncaring errors. Periodically connecting with nature and or visiting sacred sites will bring great stability to wisdom persons.

A GOOD DAY TO: Sit on a rock.

Cherokee, Owl U’GUKU’  O’JJ: Symbol is the Owl is Arcturus, the brightest Star in the Constellation Bootes. The Cherokee Bear constellation (Ursa Major) includes the Big Dipper plus four stars in Bootes.  Owl is a hunter, who stands for the wisdom and ability of all great hunters, the cunning of a fox, the tenacity of a bulldog and strength of a bear. Energy for deep thinkers, strong-willed, rigid convictions, bold and authoritative.  Owl is the Mystic Ferryman who guides Earthlings on the return path to the stars holding the torch aloft.

By providing the original text, I hope to offer a way to see what inspired my thoughts and by including all the aspects – allow for something more to inspire you. Mayan descriptions are those written by Ian Lungold. Cherokee descriptions came from multiple sources. 1. I was very happy to read this message when you posted it a few days ago, Debra (I was going to comment after I published my recent post) as he’s been on my mind too – so this update is very timely – thank you for bringing it to us. It’s a great photo with him and Joseph – he seems to be doing very well.
    Thanks again!

    • Yes, it was very good news. Joseph Giove said he will be organizing an event to honor his 95th birthday in January. I’ll be looking forward to sharing that as soon as receive the information. much love, in lak’ech, Debra

      • Hello Debra, I just saw this message about TATA from Joseph but it may be two years since – not sure . Hopefully it is current.. I should have stated earlier, my name is David C. Stewart and I live in San Miguel de Allende in central MX and Santa Fe, NM. I have been a student of Don Alejandro for nearly 40 years, first working with TATA in Guatemala along with Humbetz Men from Merida. Some years later I met Elizabeth Araujo and she has been able to keep me in touch with TATA until a few years back. I would like to receive news of TATA along if possible. Sometimes I can reach Elizabeth but not all the time. Also Joseph as we have met before. Is TATA still at his home in the village of San Francisco? I would like to send contributions to help TATA from time to time….. would it be best to do so to Joseph…… and by check or other means?!?
Thank you very much – I greatly appreciate your efforts. In lak’ech
        David

      • Hi David – I was in touch with Joseph Giove who relayed messages/donations to Tata. This was Joseph Giove’s last report, and I haven’t heard from him since. If I hear from Joseph or anyone with an update on Tata I’ll let you know,.. and I would be so grateful if you could do the same. Best wishes and love, in lak’ech, Debra
