Extreme Cold for the Full Cold Moon
SPACEWEATHER.COM NEWS: 01/26/2025
POLAR STRATOSPHERIC CLOUD ALERT: The Arctic Circle could soon be filled with Type II (Nacreous clouds, sometimes called mother-of-pearl clouds) Polar Stratospheric Clouds (PSCs)–widely regarded as the most beautiful clouds on Earth. This forecast is based on NASA’s satellite-based MERRA2 climate model, which shows stratospheric temperatures dropping to record low values in the days ahead. Note the red arrow:
50 Year Record Lows – The Colder the More Colors

The air temperature of the polar stratosphere could soon drop to its lowest value in nearly 50 years, if the forecast holds. This sets the stage for intense PSCs.
Normally, Earth’s stratosphere has no clouds at all. Only when the temperature drops to a staggeringly-low -85 C (188 K) can widely-spaced water molecules in the stratosphere assemble into Type II PSCs. With colors that rival auroras, these clouds are stunning to behold. Arctic sky watchers, if you see PSCs in the days ahead, please submit your photos here.
GEOMAGETIC STORM WATCH–CANCELED: Two CMEs expected to graze Earth’s magnetic field on Jan. 24th and 25th missed. Not even a ripple in the solar wind was detected when the CMEs were supposed to pass by. As a result, this weekend’s geomagnetic storm watch has been canceled.

The Sun will be nearly void of any Earth-facing sunspots when the existing ones at the far-right disappear to the far side.
Mayan Time, Moon Cycle, and Lunar New Year
The 1 Earth/CABAN 13-day trecena represents a Clarion Call, a Divine Communion between the Heart of Sky and Heart of Earth. It marks the beginning of a course and migration of Spirit. During the Earth/CABAN trecena is the Identity Imprint that comes with a Calling to Live with all our Heart. Our Divine Migration is the journey “home.” Maybe the “pearly gates” received their name by an appearance of Polar Stratospheric Clouds. The Full Cold Moon ties the binds between Spirits Above and Below. The Moon cycle begins on the Lunar New Year, 01/29/2025. See post on this Moon Cycle with descriptions about the Lunar New Year of the Snake.

Visit the 13-Day Trecena Guide Page for the “Tzolk’in Field Guide: A Daily Practice for Personal Discernment.” My gift for the Tzolk’in round offers an overview for each 13-day trecena and the aspects of each day of the Tzolk’in round. The page also offers a link to resources for your own practice of counting the days to conceive your own discernment of the Meaning of Time.

NOTE: You can also look at dates from a different direction. What is the Destiny Kin number of your day sign’s 3rd tone? You may have overlooked a life-changing day. Use the Kin Calculator offered on the Daykeeper’s Resource Page for a date six years before or after. If you are just starting to count the days calculate the Mayan date for major days in your life. You can also look for Signs in the duration of one event to another. Example – 33 days is a symbol of a day that you actualize the Truth from the beginning date. Using the Time and Date calculator, 33 days from today is February 28, 2025.

Galactic Tone 3: Action. Three is basic movement and communication, which begins as a vibration. Three energy is very eloquent in all types of self-expression. Communication is how Three establishes a point of agreement between any point “A” and any point “B”. Three persons are rhythmic to the core and are often restless, as motion is their nature. By working closely with the energy of Three, any person becomes more able to predict motions of all kinds.
Storm/Cauac: Day of the blessing of rain, giver of all life and lightening, a gift of nitrogen to Mother Earth and ozone to Father Sky. Cauac is also associated with the moon and the cycles of the moon, which are the meter of the feminine aspect of creation. The essence of Storm is the feeling of unity, security and warmth experienced in the home while the tempest of trouble rages in the world outside. Perpetually youthful, Storms exist to experience the ecstasy of freedom. They have the great capacity to both learn and teach. Their constant quest for novel experiences often leads to difficult tests and storms of emotion. Looking at these difficulties for the lessons they indeed are, will enrich our lives rather than destroy. Cauac individuals teach much through their electricity of being. Lightning energizes earth, this same energy energizes humans. Divine connections can be accessed.
A GOOD DAY TO: Count your lessons as blessings and your enemies as angels.

Scarlett Tanager
Cherokee, Redbird/TOTSU’HWA: Redbird is a feminine sign; the hand that rocks the cradle. The symbol of nurturing, the lightning nurtures and energizes, with energy for zest, curiosity, imagination, and ideas. Lightning adds spiritual force to the human by way of “lightning of the blood” of a healer, directly body to body vibration. The key to spiritual communication and access to the wisdom of the Ancestors lies in the ability to bestir the blood to speak.
